A.N. So third chapter of the story don't know what people thought due to lack of reviews so I am just kinda winging it, I do have plans for this one so I will not give up on it, it is just that in line of importance to me, it falls below Life with the Freaks and Forced Meeting, due to more feedback on those and not as much feed back on this one, but then again this one is only three chapters in so I never know.

Disclaimer: Idea behind this fanfic is not mine the original plot and characters all belong to Darren Shan

Chapter 3

The entire second period was torture as I thought about the journal being in a different class room. What if someone saw it? I would never be able to show my face in school again, but now that Brett knew I would have someone to confide in other than my mother, and siblings who never seemed to understand, but then again how could they when their daughter and sister was a nervous wreck 90% of the time?

I looked down at the text book sitting on top of the desk in front of me to distracted even to see the words. I was so distracted even that I didn't even notice when the teacher called my name. I only noticed once the class started laughing and the girl next to me nudged my arm. I looked up, most likely with the appearance of a deer in headlights and stared at the board in front.

"Brook if my lessons are to boring for you I will have you stay after school and listen to the entire lesson again till you can repeat it to me by heart."

The class erupted into giggles and snickers as I was called out by the teacher. For the entire class I sat in my seat slouched over looking at the words again following where we were with my eyes, trying not to draw attention to myself anymore.

The last three classes before lunch seemed to last forever and it was close to impossible to focus in any of the classes. During fifth hour I had study hall and spent the entire class staring at the clock with a stack of books sitting in front of me. One of the books sat open so that it would appear that I was still working like I was supposed to.

About two minutes before the bell rang for lunch I piled all of my stuff up and placed it in my lap then I sat at the edge of my seat. By the time the bell rang I was already out of my seat and rushing to put my stuff back in my locker. Jaiden wasn't there waiting for me like she usually was which is understandable considering this morning.

I quickly placed my stuff in my locker, shut the door and then made my way the cafeteria along with the rest of the crowd. I got to our usual table and again found that Jaiden was not no where in sight was she still that mad? Come in from one of three lunch lines Brett with his tray of food under his arm was the notebook.

I sat down at the table not wanting to stand and wait in line, nor was I really that hungry. Brett set down his tray and sat next to me then looked at the empty seats that would've usually had Jaiden and Taylor sitting on them.

"Where are the other two?" Brett asked as he handed me the notebook. I shrugged.

"Jaiden and I got into an argument and Taylor is either sitting with Jaiden or one of her other groups of friends." I stated, turning around in my seat to look around the cafeteria once again to try and locate our two friends.

The two of us sat in silence as Brett ate and I flicked through the pages of the journal.

"There was some interesting stuff in there." Stated Brett, gesturing to the journal. My fingers stopped and with them the pages. "Oh really like what?" I asked turning to look at him.

Brett put another fork full of whatever was on the menu and swallowed. "Well for starters the entire freak show performance," Brett started " secondly" He pulled out the flyer from his pocket and pointed to a name. "The notion that this guy could be a vampire is complete crazy." I turned away knowing fully well that this was going to become the exact same conversation that my mother and I had, at least my shrink would listen to me and pretend she believed me.

At this point the I just excepted that no one but myself would understand the dreams as warnings of some sort and I would take it to myself to avoid the Cirque and the man known as Mr. Crepsley even if it killed me in the end. I turned back to Brett and smiled. "I guess you're right maybe I am looking into these dreams to much."

Brett returned the smile and then we sat in silence as those around us at the many other tables continued to converse and goof off. After Brett finished and put his tray away we went outside and say Jaiden and Taylor by one of the few basketball hoops. Taylor was talking to one of the other acquaintances she had while Jaiden attempted to make baskets, all off which she either missed entirely or just hit the rim.

This was bad she always made the basket, but because she was angry about the fight she wasn't in the game and at this rate she wouldn't be in the game when it came time for the match tonight. I looked around and noticed that the entire girls basketball team had stopped and noticed that their top player was off their game and without her there was a high chance that the team would loose.

I swore under my breath and Brett nudged me.

"Was the fight really that bad this morning?" He asked. I looked him in the eyes. "No Brett it wasn't that bad. My mom just decided to plan an appointment with my shrink this morning for after school, and Jaiden took the idea that I wouldn't come to the game pretty badly as you can see."

I said and when I finished I gestured to Jaiden still missing baskets. Brett nodded in understanding

"Why don't you just explain the situation then?" I shook my head. In my mind telling her that would only make the situation worse so I kept quiet. I explained that to Brett and he shook his head.

"You are telling me, that as close as you two are you still don't trust her enough to tell her the truth?" I nodded, embarrassed as he explained it the way that he did.

"Well when do you want me to tell her then?" I asked crossing my arms, slightly surprised that he was talking out against one of his friends the way that he was. He simply shrugged and that, that choice was up to me. "Yeah real helpful Brett." I said under my breath as u made my way over to Taylor.

Brett soon joined us and the three of us sat in silence and Jaiden continued to try and make baskets, but continued to fail. Watching her I came to a decision one that would either anger my mother or anger Jaiden but it was a decision that I had to go through with.

A.N. So yeah short chapter and very late update sorry bout that but I got stuck on this one and then I discovered something. I type best at night.
