Lead You with a Light, a death note fanfic

A/N: Eh, Well, when I started Writing this Song it Really wasn't Supposed to be Related to "Death Note" in any way, but... I ended up making this in to a MattxMello Song (Matt's P.O.V.). I know the Song is a little 'Off' when you're Singing it and I know the Format is Messed Up, but I Hope you Enjoy it None the Less... BEWARE OF IMPLIED SPOILERS!

R.I.P. Matt and Mello...

You called me late one Evening,
your Voice was a whisper on the phone.
In the background I heard screamin',
could almost see the others fall.

And your Voice just kept Pleading,
to a God that didn't help at all.
And my heart kept breaking, as tears welled in my eyes,
And I Whispered back to you: "I'll be there in no Time."

And in the Back of my Mind I recited something from Long Ago:

Well, I made it to the Scene,
with your Face embedded in my Mind.
And my heart just kept aching,
from all that Wasted Time.

And I could almost see the Shock that was written on your Face,
When I placed my arms around You,
And our Hearts began to Race.

And as I bandaged your Wounds,
I went and Kissed your Ear,
And I almost said 'I Love You',
but instead I settled for 'Dear',

And I Softly Whispered:

And now years later,
So Many Miles down the Road,
My pack of Cigarettes is Running Low,
And my Car is getting slow.

But I still have Hope,
as I'm trying to Cope...
And even though I know I'm at Wits End,
I keep hearing your Voice in my Head...

And with my Final Breath I Say:
