Hey guys, I'm back with a new chapter! So, like I said before I have a lot more time to work on this story than I did before so I will hopefully be able to work on this a lot more and have a better update schedule. I don't really have much else to say up here, so enjoy!

~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.

When we got to the dining room we both took our seats and a man dressed in a suit went up to Vlad. "Would you like something to drink Mr. Masters?"

"Of course, I will take some of my usual wine." The butler nodded and turned to look at me.

"And for you?"

"Oh, umm, I'll just take some water." I answered, unsure about what else they might have to drink. The butler left and Vlad and I silently sat there. "So, you have servants?"

"Of course." Vlad replied. "My house is much too large for me to maintain it on my own. There is also the fact that I run many companies. I simply don't have the time to maintain my house and cook for myself and whoever else might accompany me. I have many servants, from butlers and maids, to pool cleaners and gardeners, stable hands to chefs and so on."

"Wait, stable hands and pool boys, you have stables, and pools?" I asked, I had yet to explore the outside of the castle.

"Yes, I have a few horses in the stable and an outdoor pool. Have you ever ridden a horse?" He asked, looking up at me.

I shook my head. "The closest I've gotten is when my parents took me to a carnival. It had one of those pony rides that have them being led around by an attendant. I got to ride one, but I was only 5 so I'm not sure if that counts." I smiled, remember that. "My sister Jazz rode one too but she freaked out and they had to stop the whole line to get her off." I grinned as I remembered how much Jazz had freaked out when they put her on the pony.

"Well then, if you are interested in learning, I can hire someone to teach you how to ride." Vlad said.

"That would be awesome, I've kinda always wanted to learn, I just never really had the time or money to pay for lessons."

Before Vlad could respond the butler returned with our drinks and a servant came in carrying two plates. The butler placed a glass of water in front of me then went to give Vlad his wine while the servant placed a plate of food in front of me.

It looked like chicken covered in some sort of creamy sauce on top of white rice with vegetables on the side. I picked up my fork and knife and cut a piece of the chicken before sticking it in my mouth. It tasted amazing!

In a few minutes I had almost cleaned my plate. I was using my vegetables to mop up the rest of the cream when Vlad cleared his throat. I looked up and saw that he had already finished and was waiting for me to finish. I quickly finished my vegetables and put my fork down before pushing my seat back and standing up. Vlad calmly stood up and left the dining room.

I followed him through the hallways until we came to the study I had been in when I was attacked. I stiffened, unsure of whether I wanted to go in. Vlad, who had already walked in, noticed I wasn't following and turned to see me, frozen in the doorway. "Daniel, it's alright, nothing's going to hurt you." I looked around the study nervously. "Look at me Daniel." I looked back at Vlad and he had a serious look on his face. "Daniel, I promise that nothing in here is going to hurt you. You have nothing to fear little badger." I hesitated for a second then gave him a weak smile as I stepped into the room.

Vlad moved to the left, where the chairs and sofa were. He took a seat on one end of the sofa and beckoned me over. I nervously walked over and took a seat on the other end of the sofa.

"Now Daniel, I know I told you that I would tell you what had happened yesterday, and what that ghost was doing here." I perked up, interested. Was I really going to get some answers? "But first, I need to know about you." I deflated after he said that, I really didn't want to talk about my past. "I know nothing about you Daniel, you have simply appeared at my back doorstep, and I have taken you in. I want to know how you ended up back there, and why on earth your parents would chase you out of your own home."

"I-I already told you. They chased me out and I kept running until I ended up here." I answered, nervously. There was no way I was going to tell him, he would probably chase me out too, or call the police.

"I know there is much more to the story Daniel." His gaze softened and so did his voice. "Daniel, if you are afraid of what I'll think about you, you have nothing to worry about. In all my life, I have seen a great many things that has opened my mind. I am sure nothing you have done in your past would not be enough for me to force you from my home." He moved closer to me and put his hand on my shoulder. "Daniel, my home will always be open to you, no matter what your past."

I looked up from where I was staring at the couch and saw the sincerity in his eyes. I decided to start off with the most prominent thing. That way, I could see how he reacted to it, and from there decide what I wanted to do. I sighed and uttered three words. "I'm half ghost."

I looked at him to try to measure his reaction. Both his eyebrows were raised and his eyes had a look of curiosity in them. "Your half ghost, is that why you were afraid to tell me more about your past?" I nervously nodded, unsure of where he was going with.

"Daniel, you have nothing to worry about. I have dealt with my fair share of the supernatural, and as you have seen, I am still dealing with it. You have nothing to fear little one, I'm not going to force you out of my house because you aren't completely human. Although, I am still curious, how on earth did you become half ghost?"

"My parents are expert ghost hunters. They spend most of their time inventing things that are meant to capture or destroy ghosts. They built some sort of portal that was meant to open in the ghost's world, but when they turned it on, it didn't work. When they left it alone, I went in to see what was wrong with it. I couldn't see what was inside, so I put my hand on the wall, to sort of steady myself, and I guess I pushed some sort of button. There was a bright flash and all I could feel was this excruciating pain, before I finally blacked out."

I sighed as I steadied myself for the next part. "When I came to, I felt completely different, so when I could I stood up and looked into a mirror, I had changed. The portal caused me to become a ghost, or at least a half ghost. I guess when the portal turned on, my parents heard it and decided to come running to check it they came down, I was happy at first. I mean, they created the machine that made me half ghost, wouldn't they be able to make something to reverse it?

"That quickly changed though. I tried to ask for help, but they just grabbed their ghost weapons and aimed right at me. I fled as quick as I could and ran away from my home town. I flew for as long as I could, and when I wasn't able to, I was lucky to find a cabin the woods. I stayed there for a few hours, then I started flying again. I was still tired from both the accident and my non stop journey from the day before. So while I was flying, I lost all my energy, luckily I was able to land safely before I passed out. Which is when I guess you found me in the forest by your house."

As I finished, I looked down at my hands, unsure of what to say or do at this point. The silence hung between us for a few seconds. I gasped as Vlad grabbed me and pulled me close to me. I tensed for a moment but I realized he had pulled me in for a hug.

"Oh you poor child. Not only did you have to go through that painful experience, but you had your own parents try to kill you. You have nothing to worry about here though Daniel, you will always have a place here. I would be more than happy to have you here. I will always be here for you, no matter what, and I will treat you as if you were my own son. I know I could never replace your father, and I can understand if you want to go back-"

I cut him off before he could say anything else. "I-I want to stay here with you. Thank you so much for understanding, this is all I could ever ask for."

We stayed in the hug for about two minutes before a question popped into my head. I pulled away from the hug to look at Vlad, who now had a confused look on his face. "Is something wrong Daniel?"

"Well, no, but I was wondering about something. You said that you've seen a lot of things over the years and you've dealt with the supernatural before right?"

"That's correct." He said, "Why?"

"I still don't get why you're not freaking about me being half ghost. I mean, I've lived with ghost hunters my entire life. I've never heard of someone being half human, half ghost."

"Right, well, I hope you don't mind that I answer your second question first."

"It wasn't really a question, but okay."

"The reason you have never heard of another person being half ghost before is because there has only been one incident similar to yours. The person that it happened to decided to keep it a secret since it would be dangerous if others found out. As such, there is currently no knowledge or record that such a being exists."

"Hold on." I said as I tried to process the information given to me so far. "If that's true, then, how do you know about it?"

A smile grew on Vlad's face as he stood up. "Well Daniel, it seems only fair that since you told me your secret, I tell you mine. The reason I'm so accepting of your conditions is," I gasped as two black rings appeared at his waist. They split and traveled in opposite directions across his body, changing him as they passed. His black business suit become a mostly white outfit consisting of white trousers and a white long-sleeved shirt covered in black gloves, black boots, and a cape that was white in the back and red in the now had sky blue skin, and pointed fangs. His hair was black and pointed in a U-shape and he had a black goatee. "That I am a half ghost, just like you."
