"A world solely controlled and obsessed with a card game, what do you make of that?" Danny asked Ghostwriter as the two began to leave the library. The books and copies of the scrolls that Danny needed were in the scroll on his belt.
"Honestly I do not know without proper research, but it must be a highly interesting or addicting game for that to happen,"
"I am hoping on the former than the latter than," Danny said as Ghostwriter nodded to agree. "Regardless when Sakoria makes her full report I will send it to Lehon and have the Council look over what she says, just as I will and we will come to a decision, even if she can't. At the moment, however, I have several people to talk to about what I have found and what we have just learned."
"Do you think there is more than meets the eye with that world?" Ghostwriter asked as Danny nodded.
"Yes. Much, much more, but I can't tell you exactly what yet," He said as Ghostwriter frowned at that. He barely understood this Force that his king, Lord Revan and Apprentice Kaemon could use and its abilities, but he trusted those three enough to know that there was nothing to worry about.
"Then I'll see you later," Ghostwriter said.
"Right," Danny said as he turned to leave by jumping into the air and flying off towards the Far Frozen as Ghostwriter frowned. There was something strange happening on that world, even he could sense that and he hoped that their Kingdom was ready for it.
Time Skip: One Hour Later: Location: Unknown Regions: Unknown Planet:
"This will be a 4000 life points each match between Chum and Captain Sakoria, duelists… That sounded weird," Drimtrix said with a frown, but just shrugged and continued.
"Begin," She said as Chum and Sakoria, facing each other, activated their Duel disks. They were in the hanger bay of the ship, the only real area with enough space for them to duel with everyone watching them. It would seem that the rumors and stories about the planet they had found had spread like wildfire and everyone was interested in this card game that the planet below was so involved with.
"Alright, I'll begin, if that's alright with you, Captain." Chum said.
"It's fine by me," She said.
"Then I summon 'Black Salvo' in attack mode. Finally I'll place three cards face down. Your turn," Chum said as everyone looked at the holograms of the monster and the three facedown cards. They were impressed of how advanced they were.
"Alright, then I'll use the spell card 'Heavy storm' to destroy those face-downs," Sakoria said as Chum face-palmed as his 'Light of Intervention', 'Call of the Haunted', and 'Draining shield' were destroyed.
"Next time, add more defenses, Chum. Now I'll place two cards facedown and summon out my 'Amazoness Fighter'." Sakoria finished as her monster took the field. "It's your turn," She said as Chum nodded and made to summon out 'Ancient Tool' by sacrificing 'Black Salvo' and attacking after placing one card face down, but Sakoria was prepared with 'Amazoness Spellcaster'
The duel lasted for about ten minutes since the two were still getting used to their decks and would be fixing them in the coming days with the skills they were learning in actual combat. In the end, everyone dueled at least once and Sakoria decided to have a tournament at the end of the day after everyone had learned the basics and after she had sent a few more teams down to the surface of the planet to get some more cards.
Luckily if it was one thing that the Emperor had been able to do was create a massive corporation in the galaxy that was providing much needed funds for his rising Emperor since some of the cards actually cost a lot of money. Sakoria had slightly sweat-faulted when Chum told her about some of the prices, but luckily they had barely made a dent in the Empire's funds. In the end of the tournament, it was obvious that Sakoria had the better tactical skills out of everyone on the ship, but Violet's Burn Deck had won overall.
"You and fire," Sakoria said having dealt with the fire attacks that Violet's deck continued to pummeled her with during their duel.
"Are you sure you're not a pyromaniac?" Cam asked only to dodge to avoid Violet's very fast and very strong kick that was aimed for his head.
"No, I just like it." She said.
"She's a pyromaniac," Chum said having decided to stand out of range of Violet's fists and kicks when he said that causing tick marks to appear on Violet's face as Sakoria just smiled while thinking about the future and her team's involvement with the planet below.
Time Skip: One month later: Location: Unknown Regions: Moon around Leud: Onboard the Ra: Sakoria's Captain Quarters:
Sakoria was looking at the duel disk that was in front of her on her deck in her personal quarters. Her deck was next to it and for some reason she couldn't make up her mind at all. She knew that the Emperor could contact her at any moment and order her back to the front lines and most of her people were itching to bring the battle back against King Sao'awa and freeing their system, but on the other hand all of them had taken an liking to the Duel Monsters game and would like to include the planet into the New sith Empire, but it was obvious that the inhabitants of said planet were not ready for encounters with another race at least…unless they appeared and had skill in Duel monsters than… Sakoria shook her head at that.
She could not believe that she was thinking that. She had sent the reports from all the museums on the planet to the Emperor who had been more than grateful for since he wasn't getting anywhere with his research. He still couldn't get anything about the mask though and had gone back to Korriban to that chamber he found the mask to see if there was anything he missed.
Sighing again, since her thoughts had changed from what she was supposed to be thinking about, she turned to the monitor. She had been able to get an extension from HQ to remain in the planet, they now called Leud, system as she made her decision, but she didn't know what do to in this case. Either decision had its advantages and disadvantages…
Huh, I wonder if this is how the Emperor feels when he has to make a decision that affects the entire Empire, She thought just as she shivered slightly with a gulp. If so, I do not want to be Empress anytime soon, she finished thinking just as a knock came to her door.
"Captain, may I come in?" A voice asked as Sakoria just said,
"The door is open," With that Violet came in, wearing her typical armor, but she had a flame motif duel disk on her left arm causing Sakoria to inwardly chuckle. All of her troops had grown a liking to the Duel disks and had begun to add their unique touches to them.
"Do you need anything Violet?" She asked.
"I was wondering if you have made a decision regarding Leud and the Duel Monster game, Captain," Violet said as Sakoria sighed again.
"No I haven't."
"Ma'am, with all due respect," Violet began,
"I have asked around the ship and most are willing to remain here and get this planet in the New sith Empire, mainly because that if we leave and that tyrant Sao'awa finds it because of us, we would be leaving the people below to the life of a slave if not worst," Violet said as Sakoria sighed.
"I know, but we are at war and I have my brother to look out for out there." Sakoria began.
"Ma'am, your brother can handle himself and you know that if we are called back to the front lines, everyone is ready for that as well, but we don't want to cause more people harm if we can stop it."
"That is one of the things that the New sith Empire stands for and I know that Violet. It comes back to either picking between our people, our family or the lives of people of a world we have no connections to and do not know and I don't know which one to choose." Sakoria said sadly as she continued to tell Violet the full situation and the advantages and disadvantages of both choices.
"What makes you think you have to choose? If I know the Emperor as you should as well, he will allow you to come and go and might even add a better defense force to watch over the planet. The war against Sao'awa has finally turned in our favor,"
"It has been that way since the New sith Empire and Lord Phantasm and Lord Revan joined the fight with us." Sakoria said.
"Yes, but now his capital is under siege. Lord Phantasm's fleet has broken through the blockade around the Rakatan Archepelago and has Sao'awa's whole planet under his mercy. Landing forces have a fourth of the planet already." Violet said as Sakoria looked at her and then at the e-mails she had gotten about the course of the war she had received from the Emperor but hadn't had time to look through and found that Violet was telling the truth.
"Then it is almost over…"
"Captain Sakoria to the bridge, Captain Sakoria to the bridge," A voice said over the PA as Sakoria grabbed her duel disk and deck and ran out of her room towards the bridge.
Time Skip: One hour ago: Location; Unknown Regions: Earth: Amity Park: Fenton Works: Danny's Room:
Danny was meditating in his room. His sister and parents were in the city, patrolling again so he had forced to remain inside since he didn't want to face them again. Especially since the last battle had left a couple of marks form their anti-ghost weapons on his body that were slowly healing. They were getting more and more dangerous, but luckily with how he had been able to disrupt their coordination with the GIW and the United Nations, not to mention his own people attempting to have a sort of peace with the Human Zone, they wouldn't able to pool any resources together to actually go into the Ghost Zone.
Danny had also made sure to mess with many of their weapons by accidently breaking them and either making it look like a ghost had done it or it was by pure accident. Chuckling a little, Danny continued to open himself up to the full Force as it healed him, gain him strength and focused his mind. Through it he could see a possible future, the past and the present.
For the moment his New sith Empire was growing at an acceptable rate and the wars he had gotten involved with solely for the want of freedom for all life were about to finish in his and his people's victory. Still there were issues that were still a thorn in his side. The Oni mask still hadn't reactivated to anything that he had tried and he was about to either give up or do something stupid. Another was the planet that Sakoria had found almost a month ago.
With its close proximity to the Rakatan Archepelago, Sao'awa or his forces could find it, even if his planet was nearly under Imperial control and his Kingdom falling all around him, there was still a chance he could survive and find it. Thus that is why Danny was meditating, hoping that the Force would shine some light on the planet and the history of it. There was something about the Muto family line, which Yugi came from, that was tugging at something at the back of Danny's mind, but what could it be?
Frowning slightly, Danny came to where the planet Leud existed in the force and gently mentally touched it as the Force opened the world to Danny as if it was an open book. Immediately Danny had accessed to every last person's mind on the planet, but he couldn't let it overwhelm him. He only wanted to know the past of the planet and the present. What he found shocked him to the core.
To think such a planet with such a high number of Force users could remain hidden in plain sight and that a planet with such strong ties to the Shadow Realm and the Duel Spirits worlds actually existed. The history was enriching, but there was darkness in the future, darkness that only…
Immediately Danny's eyes went wide when he felt what the Force was screaming at him. Something had happened on that planet and it had set the stage for what could be its destruction and the destruction of the New sith Empire if it wasn't contained. Immediately he stood up and went to his computer.
"Contact Captain Sakoria, immediately"
End Flashback:
Now the Emperor's projection was staring at Sakoria from its place on the hologram projector and the look on his face wasn't one of happiness. For once he wasn't in his armor since he had told Sakoria about his vision that the Force gave him and that he had contacted her before he had a chance to change, but he had noticed the duel disk on her arm. That caused Sakoria to blush, but she only listened to what he said and then spoke when he finished.
"And do you believe that this Jaden Muto might fall into her despair and lost for her father, Yugi Muto the King of Games that disappeared eight years ago. Also that this Light of Ruin is back and ready for what Jaden can do,"
"Completely, no," Danny said, "I will have you send down several probes and begin to create a small GZ outpost there and report in while I meet with Lord Revan and the others about this. However know this, if my visions are correct we only have less than one month before whatever is happening on that planet actually begins. By then it'll be too late for any interaction with us and the inhabitants on that planet and we can only hope that Jaden Muto has the same abilities her father had in dueling." Danny finished as Sakoria nodded to a trooper to begin preparing another team to head down towards the planet and to begin launching the probes.
"Then I will make my decision before that time, my Emperor," Sakoria said as Danny nodded and then the hologram vanished just like that.
Time Skip: Three Weeks Later: Location: Unknown Regions: Leud: Onboard the Ra: War room:
"Captain Sakoria, have you come to a decision?" Lord Revan asked with his image hovering over the holo-communicator in the Ra's war room. He was also in his full Sith Armor and could see that Sakoria was wearing a Duel disk on her arm that was styled as an Amazons shield. Sakoria sweat-faulted a little as she looked at Emperor Phantasm, who was also wearing his armor, and the Ghost Zone council as she thought, Man, do they ever take off that armor? Shrugging mentally at least, she stood up straight.
"Yes, I have. My crew and I have been down on the planet several times and we have dueled there and here on the ship and well, the game is very competitive, challenging, flexible with how many cards there actually exists, has some luck, some skill, it would be a perfect way to get many interested in thinking strategically and become tacticians. At the very least, it is a fun game that nothing on any planet I have been on has. So I respectfully request that a small portion of the GZ Company come to this planet and the position as this planet's protector."
"Three ships aren't enough and this isn't like Dantooine, Captain," Skulker said.
"Skulker is right, but do we have any reinforcements to send her?" Princess Danielle asked as Sakoria frowned. The Emperor's daughter, while nice, honest, confident, and strong and everything else the Emperor was, had a mind that was far too sharp for someone her age.
"Danielle is right. At the moment we have several ships out there in the Unknown Regions searching for planets to ally with. While the one war we are fighting is nearly won while negotiations with the Hutts are still underway,"
"And our most powerful warships are defending our people in those negotiations, we cannot call them back," Lydia said as the others nodded.
"We do have three flotillas in reserve that the Star Forge above Lehon has completed with several more on the way. We have more than enough ships in orbit and in the defensives rings for our protection," Lord Revan said.
"And we have the advantage that no one outside us knows that Lehon is our Capital, so we can spare a few ships, but my question is are we willing to get involved with a planet that has no galactic government or had ever encountered life from another planet?" Ember asked.
"That is why I had Captain Sakoria send several probes down to the planet when I received my vision from the Force and after speaking with this council and Lord Revan I have found out that vision is coming true. Thus there is someone who will be in need or serious help very soon on that planet and that help are us." Danny said as everyone looked at him and then at the Sakoria who had a smile on her face.
"Should we really be getting involved?"
"Desiree, remember who we are," Danny said as Desiree smirked,
"True,"
"Then shall we vote?" Lord Revan asked as he placed his vote as did everyone else. In the end, the vote was for Sakoria and her ships to remain in the Leud system and slowly include the planet into the domain of the New sith Empire while protecting from any exterior threats while helping with the interior ones.
"You orders are now the regional protections of the Leud System, Captain the planet and its inhabitants in the name of the New sith Empire," The Emperor said with a sort of weird emotion in his voice that Sakoria couldn't define and wondered if the others had sensed it, but that wasn't important right now.
"With pleasure, Imperial Majesty" Sakoria bowed to the hologram of Danny who had a tick mark appear on his forehead.
"Will everyone stop doing that?" He muttered as his old master decided to get the meeting back on track.
"Do not take your job lightly, Captain." Lord Revan said with a tone of voice that meant that her work had only just began with this planet, something Sakoria knew and understood.
"I don't and then with your permission, my Emperor. May I begin?" She asked as everyone nodded just before the holograms vanished.
Alright, so I have this planet to defend now. Should get Violet on how to defend it if any other races find it and attempt to attack it while I have some people on the planet to speak to, she thought and she knew just which one to begin with. Smirking a little she headed towards the hanger bay where her transport was waiting for her. It's time to begin,
Time Skip: One week later: Location: Unknown Regions: Leud: Unknown Road:
Mai Valentine was looking down at the letter she had gotten with some distrust and a lot of confusion. The last time she had answered such a call she was brain washed and nearly stole the souls of her friends… She immediately shook her head at that as she focused her attention back to driving. She didn't want to be thinking about that and this wasn't the time for it. She had still had a lot to make up and redeem herself before she dared to show herself to the others. Still she was a little worried that this was another evil organization that would twist her mind or something of the like.
She shook her head again. Perhaps she shouldn't have answered the letter or decided to actually drive out, but she didn't have anything else to do and since they were willing to pay all of her costs for coming out to meet them and the promise that she could leave with no strings attached after she had listened to what they had to say. It seemed like a win-win for her.
Still why did it have to be out here? She thought sadly as she arrived in Mojave Desert. She could see two strange devices and a small camper up ahead from what from she could see, she knew this was the camp of whoever had contacted her. The same emblem that was on the letter was on the flags around the camp and one on the camper as well. Slowly Mai drove towards the camp and then stopped in front of her.
"Greetings, Miss. Valentine, the captain is waiting for you," A man said as Mai slowly got out of her car and followed the man towards the center of the camp.
"Hello, Miss. Valentine," A voice said as a strange female wearing all black with some sort of armor on, red skin and some strange tail-like things on her head instead of hair.
"Who are you?"
"Your next dueling opponent, Miss. Valentine," The woman said as Mai shook her head as she said,
"Not interested."
"Don't worry. I only want to duel you, there are no strings attached. I want to see if the rumors about your dueling ability and your all female deck are true since it is so hard to find female duelists, at least those that have skills. I want to see how I measure up," Sakoria said as she activated her duel disk.
"Alright, but I can't promise much," Mai said as she activated her duel disk and placed her deck in it.
"So, let's duel," Sakoria said as the man from before took a position.
"4000 life points each, begin," He said as Mai went first,
"Alright, I summoned out my 'Harpie Lady'. Then I use my 'Elegant Egotist' to summon out my 'Harpie Lady Sisters', both in attack mode. Last I'll place one card face down." Mai said as she finished her move as her two monsters were on the field.
"Amazing and a great first move, but I'll begin with placing two cards face down and then activating my 'Heavy storm'" Sakoria said as her card destroyed Mai's 'Mirror Wall' and her two cards, creating two worm like tokens on her side of the field.
"Nice," Mai said with a smile.
"By sacrificing my two Wicked Tokens, I summon two Amazoness Queens and place two cards facedown and that'll be all," Sakoria said as Mai frowned as she drew her card, but then gasped when she saw it. It was Harpie Lady Phoenix Formation. She had kept the cards that she had gotten from Dartz, but she hadn't played them before.
"Your deck seems to believe in you, but you do not believe in it. All power is the same, it how you use it that makes it evil or good. Do you use it for yourself, to make up for something that you believe you don't have or do you use it to have fun in our duel and for a purpose greater than yourself when you have to. I am fighting right now to see if there is anyone to save the planet, if you believe it is you then you must fight at your greatest." Sakoria said as Mai frowned but then remembered what Yugi had said long ago.
"One's nature is revealed in a duel, even reflecting that person's heart." It was now Yugi didn't have to ask questions, he only dueled and learned the truth. Perhaps she should do the same, but was she strong enough…?
"Alright, I activate Harpie Lady Phoenix Formation." Mai yelled as her one Harpie Lady on the field formed into a Phoenix and charged right at one of Sakoria's Amazoness Queen.
"I activate the trap Dramatic Rescue," Sakoria said as her trap activated and her Amazoness Queen returned to her hand cancelling out Harpie Lady Phoenix Formation as Mai tensed.
"Now due to my trap, I summon out Amazoness Tiger in attack mode and due to her special ability, she gains 400 attack points for every Amazoness monster I control and you can't target any other Amazoness but her now." Sakoria finished as Mai then changed Harpie Lady and Harpie Lady Sisters into defense mode. Sakoria frowned as she drew her card.
"Why are you doing this?" Mai asked.
"I told you,"
"But I don't believe in that entire 'world saving stuff' that Yugi and his friends get themselves involved in."
"Oh, you were involved in Battle City and when Dartz attempted to take over the world." Sakoria said as Mai flinched.
"You still believe yourself responsible for what you did, don't you? You shouldn't. You were afraid and weak back then, but has that experience taught you anything?" Sakoria asked Mai sighed and shook her head.
"I was afraid of that. You were a great duelist before, what happened?" With that Sakoria launched an attack after activating Return to square one to return her Harpie Lady Sisters to her hand and then Amazoness Willpower to summon Amazoness Paladin that she had discarded.
This knocked all of Mai's life points out and ended the duel in Sakoria's favor. Mai fell to her feet when she lost as she didn't know what had happened or what to do.
She had thought she had made some progress of redeeming herself for what she had done, but this person had broken through her beliefs with a sledge hammer. She still wasn't ready to face Yugi and the others and was still too weak
"Why did you do all of this?" Mai asked as Sakoria helped her up
"Well, first it would be good to tell you my name and who I represent. I am Captain Sakoria of the GZ Corporation that isn't really from this planet," Sakoria said as Mai gave her a look.
"My Emperor is looking for the best of the best, but that is not completely why I dueled you, Miss. Valentine." Sakoria said.
"Then why?" Mai asked
"Because Yugi Muto is missing."
At this Mai's eyes went wide and she looked at Sakoria shocked. "Has been for eight years now and his Daughter is about to enter Duel Academy in order to learn the skills she needs to find him, no matter where he is. She will pass with flying colors but she has been taken over with her passion of finding her father and bringing him back no matter where he is. It has consumed her much like how the seal of Orichalcos consumed you and like you it is a danger to young Jaden. However, something dark will be erupting the year she goes to Duel Academy." At this Mai looked at Sakoria wanting her to continue. "We don't exactly how what, but she does have her father's skills in dueling and the Egyptian God cards, but even then we believe it will not be enough."
"How do you know all of this?" Mai asked as Sakoria smiled.
"We have abilities, hidden abilities and ones that are very powerful and unique, Miss. Valentine." She said as Mai nodded to understand. It was like the Egyptian god cards and the Millennium items are over again.
"My Emperor fears that she will lose herself to her darkness and to the darkness around her. Her friends will be threatened as will be her life and everyone else's on the planet. The Sacred Beasts, we believe, will be released and only the one with the power of the Pharaoh can stop them, but there is nothing that says that she can't be helped. Even if that doesn't happen, the one who kidnapped her father will hunt her down. That is all I will tell you," Sakoria said as she began to walk away.
"How do I know if you're telling me the truth?" Mai asked as Sakoria stopped.
"You don't, but your fear for her and your friends is beginning to fill you and your protective instincts you do have for them are beginning to return. It doesn't matter if I am right or wrong. You will go and check it out by yourself. Whether or not you do anything is up to you. Will you allow yourself to lose another chance to help out your friends because of your fear or not?" Sakoria finished speaking with that as she continued to leave.
When she was out of sight, Mai was already running to her car to get back to Domino as fast as she could. Sakoria smiled when she was informed of that and then sighed,
alright, part one is complete. Onto stage two,
