They go shopping at Madame Malkins Robes for all Occasions and buy Jacob and Paul a new wardrobe so they can blend in more comfortably in the wizarding world.
Harry and Caleb took over chosing fabrics and styles. Harry wasn't an expert, not as good as Caleb, but he did know something about it. The tailor took their measurments and taking notes with her quill on the fabrics and styles. She asked to come back in a couple of hours.
They go to lunch at THE WITCHES LAIR, a quaint little restaurant near Diagon Square. They talk a little about Quidditch, Jacob and Paul were excited. Harry promised they'll go to a match as soon as all the trouble and danger ended.
Late that afternoon they go back to Madame Malkins Robes for all Occasions they tried on the clothes. Jacob and Paul felt a little weird dressed so well, but they liked it. They walked around a little while longer before going back to The Sleeping Wolf in and went to bed.
Early the next morning, everyone well dressed and protected they apparated to the Ministry of Magic where they were received by Rita Skeeter who led them to Minister Shackelbolt. They made introductions, they then went to meet the Oswald Pepperfeild the Director of the Department of Magical Creatures and Agent Jean Smithson the Director of the High Auror Department. Mrs. Diana Montgomery
They said they'd been battling the Deatheaters for the past two weeks, many have died from both sides, forty deatheaters died, fifteen aurors as well. While ten were kidnapped no doubt to be used for demonic experiments. Harry asked if their wands were disconnected, they said yes, harry said good the last thing they need is extra wands on the Deatheaters hands.
Shackelbolt said Agent Diana Montgomery, the Head of the Auror Department for Emergency Investigations will meet them at Hogwarts and they'll go to Kentwing Castle and the next day out to the field.
They floo to Hogwarts where they met Headmaster Snape, Prof. McGonagall, Hermione, Ron and Dean. They do quick introductions. Snape introduces them to Agent Diana Montgomery, the Head of the Auror Department for Emergency Investigations who had just arrived from Paris and she fills them in on Delphine's past.
She is from a very wealthy pure blood family. Her mother Paulette Follett and Faust Voleur were Deatheaters. She was raised and programed to think and follow in their footsteps. Her father was in the Auror trading business, where they kidnapped Aurors and sold them to Voldemort and Deatheaters for huge ammounts of galleons. One day Faust and Paulette were attacked by a loose pack of centaurs and werewolves who murdered them in front of Delphine, she was nine. From there her rage grew twisting her into madness. Something Voldemort loved and he personally took her under his wing, protected her and supported her diabolical experiments.
McGonagall said Neville left his post as teacher to go help the healers on the field. Luna's patronus flew in Harry said Luna left for Kentwing Castle with the magwitches and healers.
Snape asked McGonagall to call a meeting tonight with the staff after the students are all safe in their common rooms.
Diana said it was time to go. She took them to Kentwing Castle.
Luna Lovegood walked over with Ezra Gale, The Head Magwitch, another term for mediwitch, of Kentwing Castle. Ezra filled them in on what was happening in the castle and took them hall by hall, room by room
Jacob and Paul watched their loved ones in action, how they keeled down with the children, getting in with medicines and healing creams, cleaning wounds and talking with them. They saw how they hid their emotions trying to put a strong face and be strong in front of the children.
Harry called them over to help one beautiful elf girl, she was about fourteen. She was one of the rescues from the demonic experiments. Her torso was cut and connected, roughly sewn with the lower centaur horse half. The girl was clearly frightened, Paul and Jacob told her not to fear, that she's safe and helped her onto a bed.
Luna came over with a mistletoe salve and gently rubbed it into the stitchings with her hands. Harry came over with Ezra, luckily the girl was English so communication was easy. They asked her her name and if she had any family, she said her name was Piper and she had a little brother, Victor. Ezra checked his files and sent a patronus, a bumblebee patronus. Harry got her some water as Caleb came with some potions. She stiffened, Caleb kneeled down and explained what each potion was, he waved his hand over them making them glow briefly, he said they would taste good. Luna said luckily she wasn't as worse as some of the others with the potions she could start normal fluids in a couple of days and food in about five.
Another doctor, Dr. James Crawford came in with another elf boy, around eight, he was also an elf, an elf upper torso with lower centaur horse body. He was wheeled in and was also incredibly weak and thin. A bed was conjured next to Piper and Jacob and Paul helped lift him off the gurney and onto the bed. Luna went to repeat the procedure as Victor grabbed onto Pipers hand.
Harry reassured them they'll be fine.
Caleb told them they'd be safe there, no one will hurt them again. The children said thank you. Caleb said "Your welcome dears."
Getting up they walked up the stairs to another wing. It was filled with tanks, like an aquarium. Inside were other survivors, other survival experiments mostly involving young mermaids.
Werewolves with mermaid tails. Mermaids with hippogriffs heads among other creature mutations. Luna came in saying that these creatures will face ridicule and be shut out of the wizarding community since their mutations doesn't exist nor is it registered.
Caleb walked over to a young handsome merboy, thin and weak. The boy swam under the water sitting back on the bottom corner of the tank frightened. "His name was Caspian, he was an eight year old orphan." Luna said. "His parents were victims of a failed experiment."
Caleb used his magic and soon the entire room was filled in heavenly music and a choir chorus of angelic voices bringing peaceful aura to the patients. He stripped out of his clothes, naked he climbed up the ladder next to the tank and star by the edge and gently slipped into the water. They watched as he morphed, his legs into his fishtail, his arms grew out fins, his ears pointed up and his neck opened with faint gills. Paul still was awestruck by his beauty. He watched as Caleb dived underwater and swam over to the boy. It was clear they were having a conversation at the bottom of the tank. After a while the boy swam over and into Caleb's arms. Caleb hugged him tight and the boy was crying.
After a while the boy agreed to come up to the surface of the tank. Paul was there with some potions Luna and Harry gave him. The boy was scared when he saw Paul, but Caleb told him it was ok, he was a friend, Paul smiled and shook the boys hand. Caleb convinced him to drink some potions that will help him get better. He rose up and sat on the edge of the tank and put the boy on his fishtail lap. The boy drank the potions while clinging to him.
Dr. Crawford came up the stairs, Caspian hid his face into Caleb's chest. Caleb said he'll be alright, that it was a doctor who was there to check him over to see how he was doing. If he cooperated he promised not to let go of his hand. Caspian agreed. He sat down and they both changed their fins back into legs. He took the naked boy in his arms and led him down to a comfortable couch. He waved his wand and they were both dressed in warm clothes
As they magically evaluated him Diana Montgomery came over and asked him if he had any family or friends that he knew about. He said no.
Caleb said he needed to talk to Paul in private. Caspian didn't want to let him go. Caleb said he would be next to the tank, where he could see him. He took the boys hand promising nothing will harm him again. The boy nodded.
Paul and Caleb talked with the Ministry Magical Social Service Official Emma Walker she explained the boys future in the foster care.
Caleb and Paul looked at the Emma. Caspian started to cry and Caleb ran over. Paul saw the image in front of his eyes and couldn't not want to see that everyday. He also knew it would make his fiancé happy. He turned to Emma and said not to bother putting him in the magical foster system because he and Caleb were adopting him. Emma said since wizards were the dominants in interspecies relationships then the boy, would be registered as Caleb's name first. Paul greed, he would do anything for the boy in his arms.
On the other side of the castle Harry and Jacob were walking around the beds helping the doctors, Jacob helping move kids from the gurneys to the beds. Harry walked up to a young wolf, soft white fur with a long black strip starting at his tail up his back and ending in between his eyes blue eyes. Luna said his name was Julian, eight years old, he was a werewolf shifter from southern Wales. Orphaned, his parents died during an experiment. He was having trouble shifting back to his wizard self due to shock. Jacob asked if he could understand if they spoke to him. Luna said yes. Harry watched as Jacob walked over and talked to him soon he saw the boy shift back to his human form. He was shaking Luna went over with some potions which the boy drank down fast.
Harry saw Jacob's interaction with the boy and how the boy cling onto his fiancé and said they were adopting him. Jacob looked up with watery eyes and smiled in agreement, he didn't want to let go of the child. Jacob didn't care as long as they kept him.
Caleb and Paul with Caspian met Jacob, Harry and Julian outside in the main Hallway. The both wings were closed behind them to protect the privacy of the patients. All six were in the hall. Dr. Crawford and Emma Walker walked over and asked them to follow them. They did. Paul had Caspian in his arms while Jacob had Julian. They led them to another large room. There was a table and a chemistry set.
Dr. Crawford scanned the children and told them the potions were working in a few days their bodies will be back to normal and good enough for intercontinental traveling.
Emma was drawing up the adoption papers.
Dr. Crawford took out two crystal bowls and a six small syringe s. The children got scared but Caleb and Harry said it was Ok, to follow that doctors orders. The Quileutes nudges their heads together tenderly.
Dr. Crawford pricked each boy taking some blood. He then waved his hand healing them and gave them a lollipop. He emptied the syringes into the bowls, one for each kid. He then took blood from Harry, Jacob adding their blood into Julians bowl and Caleb and Pauls blood into Caspians bowl. He added some fairy dust and phoenix tears into it. The bowls glowed bright red before fading and adding some sugar. He had each bowl to the corresponding child and asked them to drink it, the kids glowed bright pink momentarily before the light faded into nothing. After they did
Jacob asked what that was for. Dr. Crawford said it would change their blood. Now each child had the blood of their parents in their veins. The blood will now only make them greater wizards and shifters but it will give them vitamins, nutrients, strength, power and energy to grow and recover perfectly. It'll also help their bond between them and their parents. They are literally like their biological children. Emma came back with the adoption papers.
Dr. Crawford put the new blood sample of the child on the paper, where it registered the blood identity of each parent, 100% proof, and All four parents signed the corresponding papers. The papers glowed and it was official.
It was late, around 7:00pm. Diana said they would go to the field the next day. Harry asked if Neville would be there. Diana said most definitely.
They flooed to The Sleeping Wolf Inn in Diagon Alley. The street was buzzing outside. They walked out into the street, Paul asked if they ever closed. Harry said no. All the places have many shifts during the day and night, they don't close given that there are just as many customers at night, so the shops and restaurants work around the clock. Caspian and Julian were now carried lovingly in the arms of the shifters as they followed Harry and Caleb into Gringotts to open two new accounts.
The kids gawked at the grandness of the bank. They were welcomed by Ragnok, a goblin, at the main counter. Harry said they'd like to open two new accounts. Ragnok walked down and escorted them to a private consulting wing, in moments he had papers drawn up and asked under what names will the accounts be. Harry and Calb looked at their fiancés and they nodded and allowed them to do the honors. Harry said "Julian Potter Black." and Caleb said "Caspian Cromwell Lahote."
***Hi guys. This was a very important chapter for me….I'm gonna be serious here for a moment…..I'm a very big supporter of animal rights and children kidnapping awareness that is something that's happening all over the world and I wanted to bring that issue into my writing here. Of course like many writers I use the world of fantasy to bring the subject to light, but whether it's dusted over with fictional world of magic the it's touching on the same important issue. I will also have a similar issue portrayed in my new story LOTUS OF THE NIGHT. Jacob and Paul have seen how Harry and Caleb work in the established medical center visiting the rescued victims. In the chapter to come, as far as I can report, Jacob and Paul will see how Harry and Caleb work on the field and how they handle the magical media and the interviews concerning this problem.
