The Accident

(A/N: This chapter is going to be broken into two parts for those of you who wish to know. And since I'm breaking this into two parts (two parts based on everybody's POV (you'll have to read to find out who lol)) it will be a short read. Enjoy!)

POV 1 Part 1 of 5

It was bright. The sound of a "beep" happening every few seconds.

Beep.

Beep.

Beep.

Beep.

It was maddening, driving him insane.

"Wake up! Please! Don't leave this Sesshomaru!"

Whose voice had that been? It couldn't have been his. Not that desperate, pleading

"You are irreplaceable!"

That couldn't have been me...Right?

Somehow, the miko had become...important. Hnn...

POV 2

"Kagome! Kagome, please, don't leave us! I'm sorry! Please, please, don't die...Don't leave us! I know that things between us when we were dating were never very good. Hell, I was worse than the Ice Queen, but...but...I know what I did to you should never have been forgiven,... but you did. You forgave me. And Kikyo. You're a very special person to us, and, and...Damn! You know I'm not good with emotions... What I'm trying to say is that, such a pure, good hearted person such as you shouldn't die... Oh Kami, please don't die...

I'm begging you, don't leave us all alone in this world.."

POV 1 Part 2 of 5

The moment he had heard the news, he was gone. He didn't know what compelled him to just...go to her.

His blood he assumed. His blood must if called out to her, but why? She wasn't his mate, and he would never mate a ningen, especially a miko. But still, something had called him to her, and so he went to her side.

"Don't you dare die on me Kagome!"

He had been right by her side, since the moment he got there, gently stroking her pale, bruised hand.

Watching.

Listening.

Waiting, for her sapphire eyes to flutter open, a happy, sleepy, smile mysteriously spreading on

soft, rosy cheeks...

"Live, miko! Do not leave this Sesshomaru...!"

His eyes narrowed.

Hnn... what are you, Kagome... you vexing, pure, kind, miko... What are you to this Sesshomaru...?

His beast merely rolled his eyes.

He'd get it eventually.

POV 3

I did it... I told him the news. Oh Kami, the news...

"She's in Tokyo's main hospital."

Oh Kami...

"She's stable for now...

Kamisama...why her? What did she do wrong?

"...but the injury to her head may be more severe than the paramedics could feel."

She's still so young and innocent...she doesn't deserve this...

Why had that little bump to the head have to be...so...bad? Why had she had to get into a car accident! Why had our light have to get hurt...again and again... so many times...?

POV 4

Kagome. My little cousin Kagome... What has happened to you now?

You always get into trouble, even when we were kids...

She's sat next to her mate, her hand being enveloped by his two larger hands. He looked as if her were praying, their hands resting on his forehead. She leaned into him, her left hand absentmindedly rubbing her small baby bump. She knew no words would comfort him, so she silently sent him her reassurance through touch. Miroku was next to her, lost in prayer for his cousin. The doors down the hallway burst open, causing everyone to look up. Sango rushed in, her hair in a disarray.

"How is she?!" She said in a loud whisper, running up to them. Miroku answered.

"She's stable, for now at least." She looked across to the closed door, before walking up to it.

"Only one person at a time, and we have to be quiet, according to the doctors" Kikyo spoke.

"One person?" She turned, a confused expression on her face. Inuyasha answered her silent question with a word.

"Sesshomaru."

"Sesshomaru? What does he care?" She said, still confused.

"He's been with her nearly the entire time, only coming out to allow us in..." came the reply from Kikyo.

Sango said nothing, and sat back down, taking a seat next to Miroku.

"Is it bad?" Came a frightened whisper.

"The miko is very hurt" came a reply from the doorway. Sesshomaru held the door open for the taijiya, and she quickly got up and walked inside to her friend that she had come to know as a sister. Sesshomaru gently shut the door.

"Feh! You look like shit" Inuyasha said, however, unlike the other times, there was no real bite to his words.

"Hn." Sesshomaru took the now empty seat next to Miroku.

Inuyasha then spoke in a hushed, nervous voice. "Do you think she will be ok?"

Sesshomaru regarded his half brother silently for a moment before replying. "It is all up to her now"

Inuyasha stared at his brother for a moment longer, before Sighing and turning away, holding Kikyo closer to him.

Silently, the doors open, revealing a teary Sango. She closed the door silently before burying her face into her hands, silent sobs wracking her small frame. Miroku rose, wrapping her in a tight embrace. Sesshomaru rose too, then stared at the houshi. Taking the hint, he sat Sango and himself in the now empty chairs. Without a word, Sesshomaru walked back into the room, the door closing a soft thud.

Kikyo couldn't hold in the sadness she felt any longer. Once Sango started crying, the dam on her broke, and she silently cried into Inuyasha's side.

Kagome, please,... please get better soon...

POV 1 Part 3

He sat back next to her, grasping her pale, cold, bruised hand into his larger, warmer ones, watching her intently. He noticed a slight shiver from her bruised frame and shifted, getting up on the hospital bed, careful not to disturb her. He gently, gently wrapped his arms around her, still staring at her. Eventually she stopped shivering and he sighed, burying his nose into her matted raven locks, mindful of the damage to her head, his eyes finally drifting closed.

He had one last thought before drifting off to sleep.

You are worth too much to this Sesshomaru, for whatever reason that may be.

You are not allowed to leave like this...my miko...
