The Awakening
(A/N: I'm back for part 2! :D this time we get some news on Kagome's current condition (kinda). Also, Setsuna is from chapter 4, and she pretty much only said "hi" and "bye". As always, enjoy!)

It was cold and bright. In the distance, she heard a noise that reverberated in the background. A continuous, loud, and annoying sound.
Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
Beep.
It was driving her insane. But where was she?
She tried opening her eyes, but found that she couldn't. A confused expression would have formed on her face if she had been able to even move it. She heard...talking? A door opened somewhere nearby.
"Kamis...what has happened to you Kagome..."
What had happened to her? And was that Sango speaking?
"Oh, Kagome!" She heard a crack in Sango voice.
"I-I feel so helpless... what how can I help you...I'm so sorry. I'm so useless to you right now...
Oh, this must be all my fault! If only I had stayed and and tried to consult you, calm you down, something! then this wouldn't have happened to you..."
She was certain she was crying now, but why? She would give for anything to be able to open her eyes, encircle Sango with her arms and tell her it would be alright...that nothing was her fault...but she couldn't. Her body betrayed her, and she heard Sango turn quickly, walk away, and out of the room before it all went black.
Damn...
POV 5
Miroku was holding her, comforting her. She felt terribly, like it was her fault. She knew that it wasn't really, but she still felt like she had been the cause of Kagome's car accident. Miroku gently rocked her back and forth, softly stroking her hair.
She felt guilty.
Even though her best friend was in the hospital room right across from her, she couldn't help but find solace and peace in the arms of the man that she admittedly loved.
I don't deserve to feel this when Kagome... when Kagome...!
Another wave of tears hit her with renewed vigor, and Miroku did his best to comfort her.
POV 6
"Excuse me, is this the Higurashi Shrine?"
It was a normal day for Misaki Higurashi at the shrine. She had cleaned the kitchen, made lunch for herself and Father, did some light yoga, read a short book, and vacuumed the floor when the phone had rung. It wasn't often that the phone rang in the Higurashi residence, not since Kagome and Souta had moved out. Curiously, she turned off the vacuum and walked into the kitchen where the phone lay on its receiver.
"Why, yes it is. How may I help you."
"Do you know a Misaki Higurashi?"
"This is her".
"I'm sorry to say this, but your daughter, Kagome, has just been in a three way car accident..."
"Kagome has! Are you sure?!" Her mind panicked.
Oh no, not my poor little baby. Not like her father, please!
"Yes. We've had several identifications of her. She in critical condition right now, but we don't know if..."
Her mind shut down, not picking up on the rest of what the person had said. The phone fell from her hand, hanging by its spiral cord from the receiver. Her knees gave out. And then she stared. A blank expression, the kind that doesn't see, aimed at the floor.
POV 7
"We're sorry, the person you are trying to reach is currently unavailable. Please try your call again later, or leave a message at the tone."
Biiip.
"Souta, *sniff* it's your mom. It's, it's about your sister. She she *short sob* she's been in a car accident. They don't know... *deep breath* they don't know if she's going to make it. *a sorrowful moan* Please...please call back as soon as you can.
Beeep. Beeep. Beeep. Beeep. Beeep.

It was warm. A hand gently brushed against something springy while the front of her head pounded insanely. She gave a slight moan before stirring and lazily opening her eyes. Releasing a sigh, she slowly sat up, stretching her aching muscles while doing so.
She yawned, then took in her surroundings. Furrowing in her brows in confusion, she looked
around. She had been assuming that she was in the hospital...but...
A giant, albeit lovely garden, was definitely not hospital room.
Kami, her head hurt!
...Where am I?
She blinked, suddenly nervous.
Sesshomaru? Sango? Anyone?
She realized that she couldn't speak, suddenly becoming afraid.
It's ok Kagome, waking up in strange, unfamiliar garden is perfectly normal.
Yeah, perfectly normal.
If you had split personality that went places when you slept.
Or something like that.
She stiffened at the sound of approaching footsteps. Desperately, she called for her miko powers. She felt its warm bubble from under skin, her miko powers awaking and springing forward at her command. Her headache dissipated somewhat, something that she noticed absentmindedly, still focused at the sound of footsteps.
Her fear grew stronger, even more of her miko powers pouring out, erasing aches she didn't even knew she had.
Her body tensed.
Only three more steps.
Two.
One.
She braced herself for attack.
"Oh, but Kagome! You know he'll like that! Hm, no, I think he'll love it!
Kagome looked at the female that had stepped forward. She had beautiful silver hair that glinted with a coppery tone in the sunlight with green and gold eyes showed mirth in their golden depths, yet the surrounded green showed something animalistic, if her slitted pupils weren't a dead give away.
Setsuna?!
She walked forward, a katana at her side with very fine miko robes on her porcelain skin, a thick red string wound up in her hair, bells chiming gently at the ends of her hair, hanging from the interwoven red thread.
What was she doing here? And what did she mean?
She looked on in confusion as a second person came into view. She gasped, her miko powers fading.
Me?!
POV 1 Part 4
Amber eyes slowly opened. He took in his surroundings for moment, before looking down at the sleeping miko and gently brushing her bangs out of her face. A sudden spike in fear caught his attention. He spread out his senses to make sure that there was no danger before focusing back on Kagome.
Was she having a nightmare?
Her eyelids fluttered madly, and he felt the rush of reiki the bust from her.
Hissing away from it, almost falling out of the bed in doing so, he hurriedly moved away from her.
The fine hairs on the back of his neck rose, and he shirked away from her reiki, still pouring out. Through the door, he heard Inuyasha yell.
"Sesshomaru, what the hell are you doing!"
"This Sesshomaru has done nothing, the miko appears to be having a nightmare"he replied.
"Well I'm coming in!"
"Half breed, that wouldn't be a good—"
"Shit!"
Miroku called out.
"Her powers have locked you two in the room! I tried opening the doors myself, and even I got burned!"
Sesshomaru's eyes narrowed.
This isn't good…
.
.
.
.
.
It's me? What?! How's that possible?!
"Oh, but to do that….." a faint blush spread across the other Kagome's cheeks. "It would be embarrassing!" Setsuna laughed. The other Kagome was wearing a fine silken azure kimono, decorated with a deep amber obi.
What is going one here?!
"And I thought you had lost that part of your innocence!" Setsuna laughed happily.
"Oh, shut up!" the other Kagome replied, her cheeks becoming even redder.
"Huh?" Setsuna looked directly at Kagome.
"What?"
The other Kagome looked at the spot Setsuna was staring at in confusion before turning to her.
"What is it?"
"You don't see her?" Setsuna replied, her hair whipping her face, shocked. "
See who?" the other Kagome replied, still confused.
Setsuna looked back at Kagome, and then to the other Kagome, and back to Kagome again.
Then, blinking furiously, she said "Um, Kagome, could you...go to my room and get my...book...for me?"
"Uhh, sure..." the other Kagome said, still lost. The other Kagome then turned back the direction that they had come. Then Setsuna approached Kagome.
Kagome, on instinct crawled away from Setsuna.
"Kagome, why are you here…..with...Kagome?"
"I just woke up in this place...Where where am I?" Setsuna blinked.
Her voice took on a darker tone, and her eyes looked like steel glinting in moonlight. "You should not be here."
Terrified yet again, Kagome crawled backwards facing Setsuna. Setsuna merely walked forward each step Kagome took backwards until Kagome's back hit a tree. Kagome gasped.
She had nowhere to go.
"You should leave."
"Wha..?"
Setsuna raised her hands and brought them together. Kagome's eyes widened as she felt the power radiating from her hands.
"Leave this place, for this is not your time…"
Kagome's surroundings blurred, and yet again, everything went white.
POV 1 Part 5
The room was very bright, dyed the color of some shade of bright, almost sky blue, blue. In the corner, sat a panting inu Daiyokai, staring at the female who caused him to back away and get down on his knees, something that Sesshomaru would never do. Willingly of course. His eyes had bled red, his irises a dark royal blue. He growled in frustration.
This Sesshomaru can't use his youki on the girl, it would be to risky considering her health.
The bitch has healed her wounds!
Yes, but her body is still very weak.
And if we don't do anything, we'll be turned to dust!
Hn, this Sesshomaru is aware.
Well if you don't figure out something fast, then I'll figure it out myself.
You will do nothing!
His beast then let out a ferocious roar. Then do something or I will!
And this is coming from the beast who claims that the miko bitch is to be our mate!
She is if she doesn't kill us first!
This Sesshomaru will not mate a ningen miko!
There's a time and place for this conversation, but could you focus on not letting us die first!
This Sesshomaru was planning on it!
Losing the internal war with himself, he walked up to the source of the reiki, each step more difficult than the last.
He, being honest with himself (more so than he'd probably been his entire life), realized that he had no idea what to do.
I have to wake up the miko.
No shit Sherlock!
He growled. But I can't.
Well that's just great, and why the hell not?!
This Sesshomaru will lose his hands if we touch her.
Then call her or something ya shithead!
You are not helping!
Fuck you.
He nearly roared in irritation. Staring at the miko, he snapped.
"Miko, wake up."
She whimpered at his tone. He pulled back, his eyes widening a fraction.
I said wake her up, not scare her!
He ignored his beast.
"Miko, you need to wake up now." He said in a tone more calm than the last. Still, however, she did not stir.
Taking a deep breath he climbed onto the bed, positioning himself above her before he pulled himself to her, letting out a sharp hiss at the contact, her reiki searing his flesh, turning his hands a dark reddish purple. Putting his face in front of hers, eyes directly at her eyelids.
In a voice, so calm and soft, a honeyed baritone, he said her name.
"Kagome."
And like magic, the reiki was gone.
.
.
.
.
.
"Damn it!" yelled Inuyasha.
"And we won't be able to go inside until Sesshomaru somehow manages to call Kagome down." Replied Kikyo. Inuyasha merely growled in response.
"What could be happening in there?!"
"Now Sango, Sesshomaru is in there with her, I'm sure it'll be alright."
"Be alright? Miroku, this is Sesshomaru we're talking about! For all we know, he could be trying to kill her!"
"Sango, I highly doubt that's the case " he got silenced by a scary glare from Sango.
"I must agree with Miroku, Sango. We all know you're very worried about her, but I—"
"Shut up, Kiki-whore!"
"Sango!" Miroku yelled, panicked.
"What was that Sango?" Growled Inuyasha.
"Inuyasha, it's fine, she's just taking out her anger on us since her boyfriend is a man whore."
"Hey! I'm not a man whore, I've just got a cursed hand!" Said had twitched in a squishing fashion.
"Hentai!" Came a scream, and Miroku had a nice, large, stringing red hand mark on his face. "And I don't like Miroku!" She squealed.
"I never said you liked him" Kikyo replied with a smirk.
Realizing her error, she blushed profusely and started to stutter. "I..uh, but—"
"Why Sango, I never knew you felt that way about me" said the houshi, his hand giving her butt a nice squeeze.
"You perverted letcher!" She yelled, turning swiftly around and kneeing Miroku in the groin, effectively knocking him out.
"Hey guys?" Everyone turned their attention to Inuyasha. "It stopped..."
.
.
.
.
.
The whites of her eyes were black, the pupils a bright shade of cerulean, and there was an incredibly sexy inu yokai on top of her, staring at her eyes.
Sexy?! Where did that come from!?
She gasped.
"You said my name..." she said in an awed tone.
"Hnn."
She stared at his red eyes, his blue irises, taking him in fully. His hair was slightly frazzled, not its pristine perfect straight locks. The blue markings on his face a lilac color and jagged in shape. She didn't noticed their position at all however.
Still awed, she stared at him.
"Are you afraid?" Came a soft, honeyed voice.
Her heart was beating in her chest, and she felt her heart pounding in her ears, but she was not terrified as she felt she should have been.
"No..."
A tentative hand reached out, slowly. His eyes watched her every move, still red. Carefully, she touched the jagged markings on the left side of his face, taken over by the odd urge to touch him, to feel him. He let out a growl and she gasped, her attention back on his eyes. But they were closed, and she realized, he had an air of contentment.
She blushed furiously at that. She had never seen this side of him, a side that seemed almost kind...caring. she continued to stroke his face, and a soft purr like growl rumbled from him.
She giggled. Lazily he opened his eyes, a silent question being asked.
"I didn't know that inu yokai purr." She said, still giggling.
He growled at her, but there wasn't any real anger behind it. It sounded more like he was mildly offended, and she giggled some more, the whites of her eyes returning to its normal color, and her irises becoming an enchanting sapphire blue once more.
The door slammed open, and the both jumped, shocked. An enraged Inuyasha slammed into Sesshomaru, effectively knocking him off of Kagome, ...and the bed.
"SESSHOMARU!"
Kagome gasped. "Inuyasha!"
"HALF BREED!" Came a deadly growl.
"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WERE DOING TO KAGOME!"
"THIS SESSHOMARU HAS NO REASON TO EXPLAIN!"
"YOU SURE AS HELL HAVE TO! CAUSE YOU LOOKED LIKE YOU WERE GOING TO MOUNT YOUR BITCH! "
An aggravated growl ripped through the room.
Kagome moved her eyes away from the spectacle and noticed her friends in the doorway, a shocked look on their face. She turned so red that she was some shade of fuchsia.
"That must of looked..."
Miroku had answered first, still recovering from being knocked out only a minute before. "Yeah, it did".
Kagome groaned and buried her hands in her face.
Besides her, Inuyasha continued to attack Sesshomaru, using his earlier advantage against the older male. Then with a great heave he threw his brother out into the hallway, those in the doorway barely managing to dodge the incoming projectile male. Everyone scurried out into the hallway to watch the fight leaving Kagome to herself.
Slowly, she sat up, propping her head up against the pillows, wincing slightly at the aches she felt in her neck and the back of her head.
Her mind drifted to Sesshomaru, blushing immediately as the image of him came to the forefront of her mind.
You're imagining things, Kagome!
But something told her that she was in denial.
Was it me, or was there a sensation of being embraced...?
