Meanwhile, on the planet Mobius, which, like Earth, was mostly covered in water, the people were busy doing their daily things. Shopping, eating, sleeping, working, that kind of stuff.
Location: Central City.
Central City was a highly populated area on Mobius, located in the continent of Eurish. It was the home of G.U.N's Mobian headquarters. On the outskirts of Central City, way out in the mountains, stood a tall and wide building. It looked like a home, but also felt like a base. Indeed, it was a base. This was the base of Syeed the Hedgehog and the team known as the "United Races". This team formed several years ago during the after-math of a huge Mobius civil war between Mobians and Humans. Most of the members of the United Races were not present on Mobius at this time, as they were dealing with inter-galactic issues.
On the roof of the building stood Syeed the Hedgehog, a red hedgehog with spikey but short quills that pointed up. Syeed is 19, and was 19 for a while. Because unlike some Mobians, Syeed aged very slowly. He took full advantage of this, taking the time to reach his physical peak as of now. Syeed yawned and stretched out, finishing the nap he had just taken. Syeed jumped off the roof and walked into his base.
Syeed had the personality of a guy with a really big ego. He always cracks jokes and is mostly full of himself. Though, Syeed felt the bragging was justified, as he hasn't been defeated by anyone he's come across. As Syeed walked into the base, he had to go through a security check, set up by his best friend and typical nerdy fox, Strife.
Syeed took a second to examine the base. Actually, the inside was more like a mansion or a house than a base. You had your kitchen, your living room, your bedrooms, all that typical stuff. This made the basement, Strifes lab, seem like a whole different dimension. Syeed saw Strife examining an apple at the kitchen table.
"Rotten." Strife, the silverish-gray fox said as he threw the apple to the side.
"Really?" Syeed said as he walked in, catching the apple with a face of unamusement. "Why do you have to go into a deep trance every time you see a food? Just EAT IT! Don't observe it! It's FOOD!" Syeed took a bite into the apple. "See? Nom, nom, nom."
Strife looked over at Syeed, narrowing his eyes. "How you stay healthy is beyond me.." Strife muttered under his breath as he stood up. See, Syeed didn't have any super powers. He just had really great strength, to the point where a bullet couldn't affect him. He's also survived nukes in the past, but those stories are for another time.
"What can I say? I'm just that awesome." Syeed winked at Strife, chowing down the rest of the apple. "So, where's everyone else?"
Strife walked to the kitchen counter, tapping his fingers on it in deep thought. "Hmm.. well, Mya, as you know, is dealing with business in Station Square. Uhh, Turner, Truth, Austin and the rest are doing whatever they do in space. So, it's pretty much JUST us here." Strife turned to Syeed, shrugging his shoulders. "I like it this way. Gives me more room to think."
"What?!" Syeed chuckled. "You don't need ROOM to THINK. Thinking isn't a physical action, silly!"
"You get what I mean!" Strife hated when Syeed got literal, seeing as Syeed always got offended whenever Stife got literal with him. "Either way, it's fairly quiet. And I don't just mean in here."
"I know what you mean. Out there, as well, right? Yeah, those bad guys haven't been doing much lately. It also gets me mad when they go silent. I mean, I need guys to beat up and make fun of while doing so! Jeez! Do they NOT care about my feelings?" Syeed snapped his fingers.
"Uhh, of course they don't, you kinda...beat them up and then lock them away in prisons." Strife muttered back at Syeed, walking past him and out of the kitchen. As he left, he shouted behind him. "If you need me, I'll be down in my lab making some modifications to your suit!"
During his active duty as a "superhero", Syeed wore a powered exoskeleton suit. Syeed couldn't fly, or use super speed, so the powered suit helped him do just that. Strife developed it for him after realizing how much of a help it would be in battles and chases. Also, Strife likes to plan ahead of time.
"Wait, I'm coming with." Syeed said as he dashed out of the kitchen, but not before grabbing a piece of cake off the counter.
Syeed, now in Strifes basement, looked around. It seemed that every time he came down here, something new would amaze him. This time he saw a huge portal in the middle of the room. When he asked Strife what it was, Strife simply told him that he didn't need to worry about it until a later date. Syeed assumed it was something built out of Strifes common paranoia for future events that might not ever occur. But Strifes lab also held another thing: Syeed's powered suits. Right now, he had 6 different ones, but the main one was the one he always used, of course. Syeed walked over to the main suit, which is the one that Strife modified every other month. The main one and the other 5 suits were barely different, only different in color and some extra features that Syeed didn't care about. The suit was red, just like Syeed. It had a spikey but short helmet, to correctly fit with Syeed's quills. In the middle there was a huge "H" engraved in, standing for "Hedgehog." In other versions of the suit there would be an "S", but Syeed detested of this as it reminded him of a certain alien hero from Earth. The suit at boosters under its feet, which allowed Syeed to fly and also go super fast. Strife designed the suit to go at the speed of sound, and just barely touc the speed of light. Syeed only ever used this "speed of sound speed of light" ability to catch the villains that would run from him, or sometimes to make it to places on time. The palms of the suit could fire huge blast, which Syeed of course used to his advantage. The suit could fire missles and flames from it's shoulders, and in some cases the suit was almost undestructible.
"I have an awkward feeling I might need this today, so, don't modify it just yet." Syeed said as he touched the suit, running his hand down the exterior of it.
"Really?! Ugh!" Strife groaned, sitting at his desk. "Why don't you just wear one of the other exosuits?!"
"Because, I dun feel like it." Syeed smiled as he poked his suit. "Aww, wittle baby, it's okay, daddy likes chu the best, he no like these other suits~"
"...Syeed, typical Syeed...but still my best friend.." A slight smile came across Strifes face as he shook his head, looking down and typing on his computer.
Suddenly, the monitors in the room started to go static. All signals and power went out.
"What the hell?" Syeed looked around, trying to figure out what was going on.
"I don't know.." Strife stood up, both curious and shocked. Strife looked at the biggest monitor in his lab, as a face appeared on the screen.
This exact face appeared on all screens on Mobius.
The face was of a creature. An outsider of Mobius. It had a creepy smile, it's body the size and shape of a stick. It had a big head, and eyes in the shape of an oval. It spoke.
"Hello, people of Mobius. My name is Leader. I was the guardian and protector of a planet called Banshu, that was destroyed after a devastating war."
As the creature spoke, Syeed and Strife exchanged glances, then looked back at the screen.
"For years, we, the Banshees, have been searching for just the right planet to call our new home. And we believe that this planet is just the home for us. So, let me get one thing out of the way. We do NOT come in peace and we do NOT plan to share this planet. Our planet had a strict belief of only one dominant race, and we will not share the rebuilding of our planet with two other races. So, instead, we come in war. Prepare for the end of your planet."
The monitors shut off and the power came back on. Stife looked over at Syeed. Instead of finding Syeed, he had found an empty space in Syeed's place. Syeed was gone and had left in a hurry. He looked over and saw that Syeed's exosuit was gone as well.
"Welp, I guess he was right. He DID need the suit for today..."
Strife's voiced trailed off as he dashed to his desk, pulling up his computer and typing away on it.
Today was going to be quite a busy day.
