Disclaimer: Integra, Seras, alongside with the members of the Hellsing family (Alucard included) belong to Kouta Hirano and probably to Geneon. This is a pure fanly made story.
(Re) Building An Empire
In The Fifth Year: Later Part
Integra couldn't feel but disappointment. As Seras had said she was going to prepare for their outing, she was expecting the vampire to become the earthly representation of the devil, with a lustful party red dress that could leave less or nothing to imagination. Just like her everyday uniform without the shield. However the girl had always been a kind of tomboy, and the fact that Alucard and Walter had made her to wear that bitchy uniform as an inside joke between them, didn't mean the Draculina enjoyed the extra skin exposure at all.
So, seeing the younger lady wearing baggy pants, a red and black squared shirt and a cap made contrast with the feminine dress that Integra had been forced to use; they both looked more like a gay couple than a boss and subordinate trying to enjoy the spring night fresh air. Also, both were amiss about which bar to choose, one for dying before having the opportunity to go out with friends, the other for assuming responsibilities that turned her an adult years earlier than the normal. When the taxi driver got tired of making turns around Soho, thanks to the two dithering women, he suggested them to do some bar-hop in the area. Far he was from expecting the expression of his passengers, as if he had started to talk in alien language, he had to explain them how that way they could get a grasp of several places and decide which was best. Luckily they got his advice and got down the cab after paying an extra amount of cash for his ideas.
The first stop was a bar called Wiccas; it was a themed pub with fantasy design witches all around. The light was dim greenish and the music had a Celtic touch. The little room was packed, and Integra step back at the entrance at the sole thought of entering at a place where space had no longer a meaning. But Seras really wanted her boss to experience adventure at least once in her life, so she beckoned Sir Hellsing into a world both were completely oblivious. Struggle to get a seat, struggle to choose a drink among the list bizarre named cocktails, and struggle to get their drinks. When they finally sat, both were burnout.
"Are you sure this is what people of your age do every weekend?"
"I don't know" Seras sipped nonchalantly to her cup of red wine, while in reality she was cowering back at her seat "I've just gone one to a bar with some workmates, but to tell you the truth Sir, it wasn't a very nice experience."
Integra frowned, if the girl didn't like this kind of gathering places, why did she want a second time? At least, the beverage she had asked was good; its picky name of Sunshine Paradise fulfilled what it promised. They shared a rather awkward moment of silence until a couple addressed to them.
"Hello, are those seats empty? Would you mind to let us seat with you?" The really tall girl with messy black hair loomed on them, she was by the arm with a shorter boy with a lip piercing and quite traditional Celtic pattern t-shirt. Integra shivered at the girl's cleavage but not even twitching she agreed.
"Not at all, have a seat." Immediately she regretted it, it was already uncomfortable to have a drink in a dress with Seras for doing the same with two completely strangers. She knew how to act in high society etiquette; however she was at lost about what to do when the girl asked them if they were a couple. Integra almost chokes when Seras answered with pride.
"YES, WE ARE."
"SERAS!" She slammed the table, face fluttering in red, the remaining of her cocktail wasted to the floor. Noticing her reaction was over the norm, and the couple was mostly scared now that they had discovered her foul humor, Integra sighed to calm down. "Come with me, we're getting a smoke."
An excuse was in order, and the Integra was not going to expect less than an 'I'm sorry'. She got her cigar lit by Seras; who by that moment looked more like a battered dog.
"Sir, the guy was looking lecherously at you… I read their minds, they went out tonight for a thr- thre- threesome partner…" now was time for the Draculina to turn red. Reading minds must had been more annoying than what the Sir expected, and even setting them as a couple hadn't been the best idea ever, Integra was grateful that Seras wasn't Alucard and didn't tore that couple's throats right there.
"Understood Seras. Let's go home."
"Wouldn't you want to enter in another pub?"
"I said, let's go."
Defeated, Seras called another taxi. It was barely midnight.
Seras felt she had made a big mess with this outing. She fidgeted from her corner of the taxi back seat, looking at the streets filled with people having fun not without some resentment.
"One last round Seras," Integra pulled her out of deep thoughts "truth or dare?"
"Truth." She didn't want to know what her boss could come out with after this nightly fiasco.
"Why doing all this? If not just to make me suffer."
That last comment was like being pierced by a holy spear, but of course it wasn't her intention to put her Master in trouble, Seras arranged her feelings in the correct words.
"I simply wanted to do something with my best friend, Master."
"I cannot be your friend and Master at the same time, Seras."
The Draculina opened wide her red eyes, there wasn't any tint in what she had just listened, even though it had hurt her even more. And as if she had made a question, Integra's icy glare was waiting for a response. In that very second the young vampire came with a witty response.
"Truth or dare, Sir?"
"Truth, I couldn't stand another of your farfetched ideas tonight." There was a mocking tone in her words.
"Did you enjoy your birthday?"
This time was Integra who had the eyes wide open. Unable to answer, she had managed to blab two syllables when the cab stopped at the very mansion's entrance. Where the main doors open to greet her with all the house staff, the Wild Geese, the troops, and Duke holding a big cake.
Author's Note: When I began this story, the plan was making up to five chapters. Guess a lot of things happen in thirty years. Also, I have to think how Integra grows up, besides the cultural and technological changes around her. I have written scenes for the late future, but everytime I think about posting them another earlier incident pops up in my mind.
Thank you so much for the encouraging messages and pm's.
