"So...let me get this straight. You're going to use this pod to manufacture a way for the Banshees to stop mass producing?" That was the voice of Syeed the Hedgehog, who stood in Strife's lab, his arms crossed. Curious.

Strife the Fox sat at his desk, tinkering with the Banshee pod he had received earlier. He nodded. "This is where their coming from. I've managed to shut down this pod, and I figured out all the other pods scattered around Mobius are connected. If I could just use this pod to reverse engineer and shut the rest of the pods down.." Strife pondered on whether it was possible or not.

"Is that even possible?" Syeed asked, as if reading Strife's mind.

"I hope so. Even if it isn't, us foxes are the smartest race on Mobius. I'll find another way if this doesn't work." A smirk crossed Strife's face, something he rarely ever cracked.

"Ah, okay. Hurry it up so I can wash these guys out." Syeed said, walking over to his currently unoccupied exosuit.

"Speaking of, that's what I wanted to talk to you about..." Strife began, still working on the pod. "You can't..you can't do this alon-"

"I can't?" Syeed cut him off, turning to Strife's direction.

"NO. Face it, as big as your ego is and as powerful as you think you are, you're outnumbered here. Everyone is. We're all way in over our heads with this thing. You. Need. Help."

"From who? Those idiots back up in space? The Dragon and the ice dude? They couldn't go two minutes without arguing."

"And they can work on that. But you need them. Austin isn't here, Turner isn't here, Truth isn't here..." Strife said, naming off members of another famous team of heroes, the United Races. The members had been off dealing with problems on another planet, and wouldn't be back for a few weeks at best. Mobius didn't have weeks at this rate.

Syeed sighed. He couldn't argue with Strife, he was right after all. Syeed stuffed his hands in his pockets, shrugging. "I...I guess you're right, then. Mind if I use your...computer thingy to locate them?"

"Yeah, sure." Strife smiled, happy that he could clear the clouds in Syeed's mind. "The Unstoppable Clock are out there as well. Eellis and Jawez working for G.U.N still surprises me. I'm even more surprised they seem to be holding their own!"

"So, what is this gonna be, like, the backup team?" Syeed asked as he sat down at one of Strife's many computers. "We've got a shapeshifting Dragon with raging hormones and possibly bipolar disorder, a literal walking fireball, and a kid who's basically the ice version of a Green Lantern."

"Hey, people have compared you to Iron Man." Strife replied, shaking his head. "He's a man on a mission, he's IRON HOG!"

Syeed picked up a hammer, throwing it right at Strife. Strife barely dodged it.

"Hey!" Strife said, turning away for a second before going right back to his work.

"I warned you about that when you first did it like 6 years ago." Syeed nodded, turning back to the computer and typing on it.

The thrill. The excitement. The ride. Those are just three ways to describe being able to run faster than the speed of sound. Being the fastest among your peers. These were the thoughts and feelings of Thomas Tybalt, also known as the speedster vigilante Velocity. Thomas wasn't struck by lighting, or gained some mutation, he was born a speedster. It's in his bloodline. His father was one. His grand-father was one. He had only just now discovered his speed, due to his mother having him wear a gold ring that prevented him from reaching super speeds. But now that he knows he can run at the speed of sound, he's living his life to the fullest.

At least, he would be if there weren't aliens around every corner.

Thomas stood in the middle of a street, having just cleared out a bunch of Banshees, in full costume. His Velocity costume was mostly armor, it was green with white stripes running along the sides of the suit, with a huge V on his chest. Cliche, but he quite liked the suit. The only reason he needs the suit to be so armored is because he is just now getting used to his powers and can't take the rest of being caught off-guard with a bullet to the head. That's why he had the helmet that acted as a mask to conceal his identity. Under the mask, he was also a green hedgehog, with very short spikes/hair and yellowish eyes.

BOOM!

An explosion down the street. Like a bolt of lightning, Velocity ran down to the source of the explosion. He was met with a crowd of Banshees looming over a destroyed garage, their guns hoisted. They quickly turned to him, startled, and begin firing away. Velocity smirked, dodging the bullets with ease, quickly disarming all of the Banshees in mere seconds. He whistled, knocking one Banshee out with a roundhouse kick before dashing to another one, uppercutting him into the rest of his group. Velocity knelt down, running at high speeds and taking out the rest of the Banshees with a high velocity boost, the wind taking them for a loop. Velocity turned, bathing in his victory.

"Too easy. This is just getting boring now!" Velocity crossed his arms, before turning on his heels and speeding off down the street. He saw some survivors being lead into a huge flying ship by G.U.N agents. He saw one of the agents, a green squirrel, point at him.

"See, Jawez! It's the man in the green suit! I told you he was real!" The squirrel chimed in excitement, making his way over to Velocity.

A purple Echidna, Jawez, followed the squirrel. He was very tall and had a muscular build. Velocity just stood there, unsure of what to do.

"Shut up, Eli, I knew that. I've been in G.U.N's secret files before." Jawez shot back at Eli, the green squirrel.

Eli walked up to Velocity, extending his hand. "It's good to see some help out around here! There were other costumed heroes out, but I haven't seen 'em around in a few hours."

Velocity shook hands with Eli, nodding his head. The ships started to take off into the sky. "Shouldn't you guys be going?" Velocity noted.

"No." Said Jawez in a deep, gruff voice. "We have to find more survivors and bring them to more ships. They're around here somewhere."

Another explosion a few blocks down. Right on cue.

Eli jumped, hoisting his gun. "It came from all the way down-"

Velocity left Jawez and Eli coughing up his dust.

When Velocity reached the location of the impact, he saw that someone in an all black costume was already at work. It was a female, and she was giving the Banshees hell. Using an array of martial arts skills and some kind of bo staff to take them out. Velocity was caught off guard in amazement.

So caught off that a bullet was able to graze his suit. He turned to see a Banshee firing bullets rapidly at him. He dodged them seamlessly, running over and using his speed to knock out the Banshee with one powerful punch.

He turned around again to see that the female was still very busy. She hit a roundhouse kick on one of the Banshees, which in turn sent that Banshee reeling and knocking over other Banshees. She jumped back, throwing a pair of kunai's at the Banshees, the kunai's pouring right into their heads. She repeated this process with the res tof the Banshees before clearing the area. Velocity still stood in shock.

She turned to Velocity, he was unable to see her face due to the black mask hiding her. She pointed behind him. Velocity turned, just in time to take out another approaching Banshee. The female approached Velocity.

"Keep your guard up." She said, nodding as she started to walk down the street.

"Wait! Who are you? That was some pretty cool stuff!" Velocity called out, walking behind the female.

"I'm..uhh." The female paused for a minute. "Celes-" She stopped herself. "The Shadow Avenger."

"Cool code-name." Velocity replied, a sly smirk crossing his face. "You wanna...team up? I'm working with some G.U.N dudes. We're searching for survivors."

Shadow Avenger sighed, crossing her arms. "I suppose."

In the distance, Velocity saw Eli and Jawez finally catching up. He chuckled, shaking his head.
