"I'm sorry for your loss. Nitro was a great man. A great hero." Those were the words of Syeed the Hedgehog, who stood across from the now slightly calmed Flame, who had just experienced the loss of his best friend, Nitro.

Flame, Syeed, and Strife stood inside the Orbital Watcher in space. Flame had just explained the death of Nitro to them. This time, he sounded more determined than ever.

"We need to take these outsiders down. They've killed one of my own. My best friend. I can't let them kill anyone else." Flame stated, his gaze intense.

"Way ahead of ya," Syeed started, nodding over to Strife. "We sent out distress signals to the ice dude and the dragon dude. They should be coming..I mean, hopefully they've got their heads out of their asses. That'd be awesome."

Flame chuckled. Strife rolled his eyes, watching outside the windows of the Orbital Watcher.

Thomas Tybalt, also known as the costumed speedster Velocity, walked along the remains of an old steel mill. Also walking beside him was a costumed female he had only known by the name of 'The Shadow Avenger'. They heard a distress flare go off around here and have been looking for any survivors in this area. They found the guy who sent off the signal, but he said that there were still more people lost in rubble. Only one thing to do, right? Go find out. That's what they were doing currently.

Thomas looked over at his partner. "So, Shadow, is it? What's your uh.."

"Real name?" Shadow Avenger cut him off, shaking her head. "Sorry, no real names. It's dangerous."

"What do you think I'm gonna do? Tell your mom on you? Wait...you're not a little girl, are you" Thomas replied.

"Of COURSE NOT, you dimwitted fool!"

"Okay, well, sorry! I don't have much to work off here! You're in a mask, and you won't tell me your real name, despite the fact that I've told you mine..."

"Which was stupid on your part, by the way. How did you figure I wasn't some supervillain in disguise, hmm?"

"Probably because you just admitted it to me."

Shadow Avengers' eyes narrowed at Thomas after his comment. He chuckled nervously, continuing to search before pulling up a roof and tossing it to the side. A young boy emerged from the rubble. He couldn't have been older than 15. Thomas titled his head.

"Heya kiddo, you lost?" Thomas asked the obvious.

"Yeah.." The young boy looked around, seeming disorienated.

"What's your name?" Thomas stared at him.

"My name's...Riley, Riley Young, me and some of my friends were hiding out here because of the alien invasion..I remember now..yeah..some of them found us..but G.U.N guys fought them off.." The boy explained.

"But not before causing all this property damage, huh. Haha, typical G.U.N." Thomas chuckled. The kid didn't seem to find it all that amusing. Thomas nervously continuined.

"Well, you better run on back to your friends. Or get to a safety zone. There shouldn't be one too far from here." Thomas insisted.

"I got it. Thank you, uhh.." The kid titled his head.

"You haven't heard of me?! Ugh...call me VELOCITY!" Thomas winked through his mask.

The kid nodded, flashed a weak smile and walked off. Thomas sighed as he watched him. He turned back over to Shadow.

"That's the only guy here." Thomas stated, nodding.

"And you know that, how?" Shadow Avenger titled her head in questionining.

"Because as you just said that sentence, I surveyed the area." Thomas said, now directly in front of Shadow. He loved his superspeed.

"...Oh...kay, shall we get going?" She looked at him curiously.

"Well, I-" Before Thomas could finish his sentence, he felt an awkward friction forming around him. His eyes widened in revelation as he grabbed Shadow quickly, throwing the both of them down to the ground. He barely dodged the bullet! He looked back to see...

A banshee in heavy armor, with a horde of other banshees behind him. The banshee in the heavy armor had a visible grin on his face. This was the first time Thomas saw a banshee show any emotion.

"I don't think you two will be going anywhere!" The heavy armored Banshee spoke, he began to approach them. The army behind him followed. "You see, you little cunts in costumes have been ruining our little take over! That's bad. And now I hear there's some kind of team being formed? Pathetic. Let me end it before it begins!"

"A team? We haven't heard of any team, but we'll still be sure to kick your ass." Shadow shouted at him, pulling out a kunai from her waist belt. Thomas wondered how good that would do against a guy like this.

"Also, I never thought I'd hear an alien say the word 'cunt'!" Thomas stated with a smirk. Both Shadow and the Banshees looked at him. An awkward silence filled the air.

"Um..so, don't we have to fight now?" Thomas pointed.

"Right." Shadow played with her kunai and charged forward, along with Thomas. The opposing team charged as well.

"By orders of ME, Datol, CRUSH THEM, BANSHEE!" The armored Banshee, Datol, shouted.

Thomas figured he should leave the armored guy to Shadow. Instead, he swooped past the armored banshee and went right into the army behind him. He sent multiple Banshees flying in all different directions. He got into a fist fight with one of the Banshees, but that didn't last long. Because, well, he can punch about roughly a million times per second. He grabbed one Banshee by the neck, spinning him into a tornado and sending him into the others. He was having so much fun that he didn't realize he knocked the last Banshee out a milisecond ago. He shrugged, looking around.

The Shadow Avenger and Datol were in a back and forth fight. It alternated between using fist and legs and elbows to using weapons. Shadow Avenger was very skilled in whatever fighting style she was using, Thomas wasn't sure of the fighting style. But Datol was stronger. That armor gave him an advantage. Soon enough, he had her on his knees, holding up some very weird looking blade. Thomas realised that he needed to get over there.

Thomas charged, knocking down Datol from the side with a punch to his cheekbone. It knocked the wind right out of him. Thomas kneeled down, punching Datol with lightning quick hits into the armor, cracking it. He ripped the armor in two, throwing the remaining pieces to the side and looking down at Datol. The once 'mighty' Banshee appeared to be dazed. He got up to one knee, but not before being knocked out with a crushing kick to the back of the head by the Shadow Avenger.

"Sorry, had to get the last blow." Shadow flashed a wink, surprising Thomas. He watched as she walked forward, looking out at the other fallen Banshees. "I see you put in some work."

"Yeah..." Thomas rubbed the back of his head, chuckling.

"He said something about a team. One of my friends told me that a certain someone was forming a team, earlier." Shadow rubbed her arm.

"Who?" Thomas asked curiously.

"Syeed the Hedgehog." Shadow said, followed by a sigh.

"Oh! The dude in the flying suit! I love him! We should join whatever team he's forming to stop this!" Thomas said excitedly.

"What?! No, we're doing fine on our own. It's best if theres more than one faction working togeth-"

"Blah, blah. It's BEST if the people know there's a whole team of heroes working together to end this. You see these people are in a panic. They believe it's the end of Mobius as they know it. Now, I don't know what's going on with your logic, maybe you're an ex-girlfriend of his or something, but we gotta join up."

"Ex-girlfriend?!" Shadow angrily barked back. She grunted. "Fine, fine. My satelites detected a huge-"

"Wait, YOUR satelites?!" Thomas cut her off. "So, are you some rich chick?"

Thomas could feel Shadow blushing, even with her back facing him. He's cracking her down.

"As I was saying...satelites detected some kind of space base circling the orbit of Mobius. I've seen The Hedgehog..Syeed, fly in and out of there a couple of times in the past few hours. That must be where they're meeting up."

"Then let's go!" Thomas began walking towards her. "Let me guess, you have something that can take us up there?"

"Actually, yes." Shadow replied. "Follow me." She walked forward, Thomas following closely behind.

"So, you're rich, what else? Do you watch anime?" Thomas questioned as they walked. "I do! It's one of the better things the humans brought to Mobius. My favorite anime is Attack on Titan! The nude giants bother my friends, but I'm okay with it." Thomas trailed on and on, with Shadow simply shaking her head and ignoring him.

Zack Poe, also known as costumed vigilante Zarge, sighed as he stood atop a rooftop. The battles had calmed, for now, but Zarge saw it as the calm before the storm. He lowered his hood, revealing a blue mask that concealed his face. The wind blew his hair. He had to come to terms with everything. He couldn't do this alone, no. This is unlike anything he's ever faced. He hadn't been to his other home, Athars, in a while. He knew he couldn't ask them for help because they could care less about Mobius right now. That's why he had a duty as one of the only Atharian's protecting Mobius. (1) He didn't have too much of a problem with it, but he realized most of the other Atharian's were very stuck up. He quite liked having the duties he had, though. It made him feel very mature. Made him feel above the rest. At least, until now. Now all he felt was a sense of powerlessness.

He jumped off the roof, free-falling towards the ground below. Before he could hit the ground, ice wings grew on his back and he began to fly in the air. Suddenly, a spotlight shined on him. It was weird and sudden. He looked up. Wherever it was coming from, he couldn't see it. He tried to ignore it, but it kept following him. He finally gave up, deciding to burst out in the direction of the spotlight. He decided that it had to be some kind of signal, calling him. He was going to heed that call.

Proog sat in a room with Leader, looking over their project: Banshus. This was the game changer. Proog was aware that Datol had failed to stop the forming 'team', possibly even persuing people that weren't on the team at all. But he had Banshus, his final resort. It was almost time to launch this weapon of mass destruction. Finally, they will have a home, actual home for their people. That's what this was all about. They simply wanted to take over, not start a war. But of course, the Mobians resisted. And it will cost them their lives. He felt no remorse for killing the Mobian he had killed earlier. Nitro, was it? The Mobian was an obstacle. Someone just 'in the way'. A few deaths on his hands in exchange for a new home? He was fine with that.

"Home..." The only word Proog could mutter. Leader looked over, nodding in agreement.
