Proog and Leader sat in their ship. Peacefully, the calm before the storm.
Proog stood up, walking over to a large computer, his eyes following the screen as an alert popped up.
"Sir," Proog started, addressing Leader. "Apparently there's a global broadcast going on."
"What?! Who dares?!" Leader stood, walking beside Proog. He looked up at the computer monitor. "Pull it up!"
"Yes, sir." Proog pressed a command on the keyboard as a familiar face appeared on the screen: the face of Syeed the Hedgehog, one of Mobius' heroes.
"Ahem. Yeah, is this thing on?" The red hedgehog tapped his fist on the camera. A voice from afar shouted "YES! IT'S ON! DON'T BREAK IT!"
"Right..." Syeed continued, clearing his throat. His mood changed, suddenly, his eyes showing deep intensity and sincerity. "You all know that we have some...uninvited guest running a little hipster 'invasion' on our planet. Well, I want to reassure everyone to don't..." Syeed paused, his expression changing. "EXCUSE MY ENGLISH. I want to reassure everyone to NOT lose hope. I am assembling a team...a team of heroes to take down these intruders. Well, actually, technically, it's pretty much already assembled but-"
The voice from before cut him off again. "GET TO THE POINT!"
Syeed nodded his head, rolling his eyes. "ANYWAY, hey, Banshees? Prepare to be shown the EXIT to our planet. Seriously, no one wants you here. Go bother someone else. That's all. See ya soon~"
Proog rubbed his long temple. He turned to leader, an expressionless stare. "Time to initiate protocol Banshus?"
A wide grin came across leaders faced. He anticipated the future. "Yes. Time to bring Mobius to it's knees...and make it OURS!"
"It's the Ice Clan's oath." Zarge spoke. He was standing in his room of the Orbital Watcher, which was covered in ice, to his preference. Alan stood across from him, arms crossed.
"Really? Then, speak it. I'd like to see what you Atharian's come up with." Alan responded, a smirk on his face.
Zarge took a deep breath. Held his ice ring up.
"For the Ice Lord that guides my life, I beg you, don't let me die tonight. But if I shall before I wake...as an Atharian, I accept my fate." Just after speaking the oath, Zarge's body lit up, his blue costume covering his body, blue mask concealing his face.
Alan looked impress. "See, up in the Dragon World, we don't really have an oath or anything. We kinda just do whatever the hell we want."
"Yeah, if you're any indication..." Zarge refrained from speaking any further, a smile on his face.
"Listen, kid. I didn't want any problems earlier. Thing is, I've had partners in the past. They didn't follow my orders and...and it cost them their lives." Alan explained.
"Hey, it's whatever. I don't usually like to hold grudges. But I'm not like your other partners, just remember that." Zarge paused for a moment, choosing his next words carefully. "No offense, of course."
"Oh, I'm sure you didn't mean any." Alan snickered. He turned to the exit, taking steps towards it. Before he left, he spoke, "Ice and Fire. I guess opposites attract, huh?"
"I suppose that's the case." Zarge shrugged his shoulders, a grin on his face. "Let's kick some ass out there."
Syeed the Hedgehog sat in his room of operations in the Orbital Watcher, looking out the window at the vast space. He was fully dressed in his exosuit, the helmet of it covering his face. It was just about time. The team was formed, for the most part. At first, Syeed wasn't sure whether this whole 'team' thing was a good idea. But now he was sure of it, it was the only way that this invasion would be halted. Syeed could be arrogant at times, but he wasn't a complete idiot. He knew the banshees would only grow in numbers if the heroes of Mobus didn't unite to combat it. He promised to his family members before him, his grandfather, his father, that he would protect this planet at any cost. And he promised this to the people when he revealed his identity as a superhero to the world. Innocent Mobians have already died... no more.
Syeed heard a noise behind him. Footsteps.
He came face to face with Celeste Shizuk, the CEO of Shizuki Enterprises, but also known to Syeed as the vigilante 'Shadow Avenger'. She, too, was in her costume.
"You know..." Syeed started, a chuckle preceding his speech. "You don't have to wear the mask in front of me. The scanners on my suit make your 'secret identity' pointless."
"Oh, can you tell me!?" Another voice beamed from behind Celeste. Out popped the speedster known as Velocity. Syeed knew his secret identity, too. Thomas Tybalt, JR. The son of Thomas Tybalt, SR who also went by the superhero name of 'Velocity'. Ironic.
"Yeah it's-" Syeed began to speak before he was cut off by Celeste.
"Enough, you ignoramus." Celeste barked, her arms crossing over her chest. Thomas sighed. Celeste continued. "We came to offer up our hands in this 'team' you're forming. As much as I'd hate to work with you...I can admit that this needs to be done."
Syeed raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Can you put that in simpler terms?"
"Sure." Celeste forced a smile. "Accept my offer or I'll break both of your arms. Good enough?"
"Ouch." Thomas piped in, his eyes traveling between the two. "Okay, I gotta know, did you guys like...date in the past, or something?"
"Nope. Ms. 'Avenger' over here is just a little bitter. Of what, I have no idea." Syeed shrugged.
"Well, let's see. You're arrogant, ignorant, a hack, and with all that money you've done nothing to help anyone." Celeste stated firmly.
"You know, other than saving the world a few dozen times." Syeed shot back.
"In a huge suit of armor that you can't be harmed in. Because, oh man, so help us God if pretty boy rich gets hit in the face."
"I've been hit in the face a couple of times. I know martial arts, too."
"Yeah, you guys definitely have some sexual tension." Thomas butted in.
Syeed and Celeste both shot a look at Thomas. Syeed smiled.
"Right. Well..." Celeste turned on her boots, walking out of the room. Syeed and Thomas looked at each other.
"Long time no see, Hedgie." Thomas waved.
"Been a while." Syeed replied. He and Thomas had met before, after Syeed had heard reports of a speedster stopping an attack on Central City. The pair then teamed up to detonate several bombs placed throughout the city.
"For the record, I don't believe any of the crap she was saying. I've seen you in action. You're better than me!"
"Thank you, Thomas. But no hero is better than the other. We all fight for the same cause, the way I see it."
"Right! I mean, I'm way faster than you, but you've got all the high tech that somehow doesn't kill anyone that you blast it with, and I've-" Thomas paused. Stopped himself, chuckling nervously.
Syeed glanced over at Velocity, shaking his head. "You're a funny guy, Mr. Tybalt. I think I like you."
"They killed Nitro, hundreds of other innocents...yes, I'm sure about this." Flame spoke intently, standing behind Strife, who was sitting in front of a large computer monitor in a chair.
"I know, but...I want to know if you're sure...mentally." Strife turned the chair over to face Flame, looking into his eyes. Flame sighed after a long pause.
"I don't know about that. I know I'm just going to...I might just lose it. I don't know." Flame looked down, shaking his head.
"Good thing I'll be in your ear. To, you know, snap you out of it."
"What, so if everything goes to shit, you'll be up here in your little spaceship eatin' Cheetos or something?"
"Cheetos...people still eat Cheetos?" Strife raised an eyebrow, shrugging before turning back towards the computer.
"I do!" That was the voice of Eli the Squirrel, who had just walked into the room with Jawez, his best friend.
"Eli." Strife nodded. Flame waved at the squirrel and his companion.
"I just contacted G.U.N." Eli held up his communications device. "They say the Leader of the Banshees has revealed himself in the middle of Central City, along with a giant fleet of other Banshees. I think it' time!" Eli said with excitement, an unusual light in his eyes.
Strife and Flame exchanged a look. Nodded. Strife pressed a button on the large keyboard in front of him.
Moments later, the rest of the newly formed team walked in.
Syeed the Hedgehog. Armored exosuit covering his body, lighting up. The helmet forming to cover his head, the last thing we see of his head is a smile.
Zarge. Slipping his ice ring onto his finger. His body became engulfed in his ice-blue costume. His mask covering his face. A look of determination.
Alan, The Dragon. In his humanoid form, his wings spread out behind him, drawing his blade. He nodded at his team mates, fire in his eyes.
Flame the Hedgehog, his body heated up like a fireball, an aura around him. Fire omitted from his palms.
Velocity. His body vibrated as he got into a kneeling position, ready to run.
Eli and Jawez. Side to side. Guns hoisted, brothers in arms.
The Shadow Avenger. Her kunai's at hers, she looked around the room.
"Let's save the world." Strife spoke to the team before him.
Thanks to Strife's advancements in technology, the Orbital Watcher housed a ton of transportation machines that transported the heroes directly into Central City. They now stood in one of Strife's well hidden labs in the city. The heroes glanced at each other.
"What's the plan?" Zarge spoke first.
"Do we really NEED a plan to save the world?" Velocity responded to Zarge, a smirk forming upon his lips.
"Actually, yes." Alan cut in, his tone serious.
"He's right. We can't all just charge in one place. Innocents will be dying all over the city." Celeste put her two cents in.
"Split up into individual teams, is what rich chick over here is saying." Syeed smiled as he spoke.
Celeste glanced over at him before rolling her eyes the other way.
"Alright, I've got an idea." Flame nodded. "Eli and Jawez, you two go together. You have access to G.U.N trucks and other materials. Make sure G.U.N doubles in their active numbers and rescues as many people as possible."
Eli and Jawez nodded. Easy work for them.
Flame continued. "Syeed and Shadow, since you two seem to love each other so much, you'll be with Velocity. You guys have to get to this 'Leader' guy. I assume there's going to be a fleet covering him..."
Flame turned to Zarge and Alan. "That's where us three come in. We'll help clear the fleet, any means necessary. Flame, Fire, and Ice." Flame paused for a minute. "Oh, and I totally didn't steal this plan from Strife." The rest of the team chuckled, barely surprised.
"Alright, guys and gals." Syeed looked around the lab. "Let's-a go!"
Eli and Jawez raced through the streets on a motorcycle, shooting down pursuing Banshees. There were dozens of them, all on their own weird, white "motorcycles", if that's what Eli would call them. Jawez, handled the wheel, with Eli constantly yelling at him to keep steady. Whenever Eli would take down five Banshees, five more would pop up. He groaned.
"How many of these damn guys are there?!" Jawez barked, swerving into an alleyway, Banshees following.
"Don't worry about that! Shut up...and DRIVE! Unless you have a better idea?!" Eli responded.
"Actually, I do." Jawez turned at the end of the alley, the motorcycle halting. Jawez stepped off, pulling a weapon from the side of the motorcycle: a giant rocket launcher. RPG. A smile appeared on Eli's face.
As the Banshees approached, Jawez shot out of the RPG. Everything in front of them blew up, ablaze. It was like a fireworks show, and they had front row seats.
"BOOM!" Eli jumped up in excitement, looking over at his best friend. They nodded at each other, getting back on the bike and riding off.
"How's it going down there?!" Zarge spoke into his comlink device to Eli and Jawez as he flew in the air, heading straight towards a fleet of oncoming Banshee ships. Flame and Alan trailed behind.
"Yeah!" Eli responded, just as he did, a green flare was set off into the air to signal his location. Zarge nodded as he spotted it.
"Incoming!" Alan shouted as he blasted right into a Banshee ship, disappearing from Zarge's sight. Zarge and Flame exchanged a nod as they flew into their own, separate Banshee ships.
As Alan landed in the ship, he swung his sword at one Banshee who seemed to be expecting his arrival. Two more came at him. He grabbed one and slammed his knee into it's face, grabbing the second one by the face, his fingers digging into it's large eyeballs as he squeezed. The Banshee screamed in pain and Alan slammed him into the wall. The other two came back at him but he flipped into the air, grabbing them both by the neck and butting their heads together, knocking them both out. He looked at the commander of the ship, who got out of his seat. He charged at Alan. This one was more skilled than the rest. Alan tried punching him, but he ducked. They went back and forth, countering each others moves and hits. Eventually, the Banshee kicked Alan away into the wall, smirking.
"You didn't expect that, did you? Allow me to introduce myself..." The Banshee approached Alan once again, but this time he started to hover into the air. Alan's eyes shot open.
The Banshee continued. "My name is Proog. Second in command and I will do anything...anything to ensure my people have a home." With that, Proog charged at Alan, tackling him right through the ship and back out into the open. The two exchanged multiple punches as they plummeted down to the street below. The impact of their bodies landing created a loud "BOOM" effect followed by a cloud of smoke. When the smoke cleared, they stood across from each other. Alan slammed his elbow into Proog's face, which Proog responded by kicking Alan in the kneecap. He went for a punch, but the humanoid Dragon blocked it with his palm. Twisted the alien's knuckle, forcing his head into Proog's chest. Proog stumbled back, and Alan shoulder tackled him to the ground. He turned, noticing one of the Banshee pods behind him. Banshees produced themselves out of it, coming at him. Alan sprayed his fire breath all over them, decimating them quickly. He had promised not to kill, but he wasn't even sure if these people were real or not. He noticed the pod flutter, then come to a stop, tilting his head. He put two fingers to his ear, speaking into the comlink.
"Strife, that you?" Alan asked.
Strife, sitting in the Orbital Watcher in space in front of his large computer, smiled. "I figured out a way to connect all these Banshee pods together, hack into them, and shut them down! No more infinitely producing aliens!"
"Nice." Alan responded, before being met with a sudden punch to the face by Proog. Stupid, Alan, stupid.
Proog stood over him, his boot on Alan's neck. Alan heard footsteps behind him. Proog turned, almost getting decked in the face by Zarge. Proog grabbed Zarge by the neck, punching him in the face multiple times. He threw the hero to the ground. Proog seemed to wait as Alan and Zarge both stood back up. They charged at Proog, attempting various attacks, with Proog dodging all of them. Easily. He was good. Too good.
"It's futile." Proog kicked Zarge in the gut, sweeping him out from under, grabbing his leg and throwing him into Alan. They both went tumbling down. Meanwhile, in the sky, Flame seemed to be fairing better than them, taking down multiple Banshee ships. The sky lit up like a firestorm.
"I'm faster." Proog kicked Zarge in the gut as he tried to stand. Stomped on Zarge's chest, knocking the wind right out of him. "Smarter." He dived his fist into Alan's face as the humanoid Dragon laid on the ground. "Stronger." He begin to walk the other way, shaking his head.
"Stronger?" Alan coughed as he stood slowly, looking across at the Banshee. He held one finger up, waving it. "Nah, buddy. I don't fucking think so."
"Oh?" Proog grinned, crossing his arms. "What's going to happen when I come over there and take you down like I just did? You can't touch me."
"He can." Zarge held his palm out, as suddenly an iced tail strung itself around Proog's neck. Proog's eyes went wide as he struggled to get it off. Zarge nodded at Alan, as if to say 'now!'.
Alan charged over, his fist balled up. He sent Proog flying into the air with an extremely powerful uppercut that crippled Proog as he came back smashing into the ground. Proog got to his knees as Alan approached him. He tried to kick Alan. Alan grabbed his leg, twisting it, black 'blood' coming from the Banshees leg. Proog screamed out in pain. Alan swung the Banshee around, throwing him into the air.
Zarge leaped into the air, forming an ice hammer with his ring. He came right down, slamming the hammer into Proog's body, sending the Banshee to the ground and effectively knocking him out.
Zarge and Alan stood over Proog, they shared a glance. Teamwork. For one moment, a sense of trust came between the two. Trust that wasn't there beforehand. Zarge extended his hand and Alan shook it.
"Guys! I'm using up too much of my power. You've gotta get back up here." Flame seemed exhausted as he spoke to them through the comlink device.
"I've got a solution." Alan nodded. His body started to glow. His skin changing. Suddenly, HE started to grow. Zarge looked up in amazement. Soon enough, Alan was in his full-on dragon form. 12 feet tall. Visible to the entire city. The Dragon let out a battle cry as he took off into the air, towards the fleet. Zarge jumped onto his tail, clenching onto it with an ice-stick.
Alan spoke as he drew closer to the fleet. "You're all going to BURN!"
