A Different Beginning

A.N.-Sorry it has been years since I have updated this story. A short recap. Caprica and Eliza are searching for the cylon hub, Lee and Athena are on Natalie's basestar. Eloshi, Roslin, Mark and Kara's dad ( Adam) are on Cloud Nine starting the meeting. Willow is close by watching and there is a missing basestar somewhere.

Chapter 47.2

Cloud Nine

Eloshi stood on a raised platform in the ballroom ready to address the crowd of reporters, quorum leaders and several civilians among them also people from the Aurora ship.

She began with an important statement to get everyone's attention. "I would like to thank you all for coming today, I have a very important message to relay from Aurora "

Eloshi paused for effect and as she saw the questions beginning she raised both arms up high, her priestess robes flowing " I ask you to please let me finish " as the crowd stilled she began " In this cycle of time it is Aurora that will guide us to our new home through her chosen one. " she could see the questions starting again and spoke quickly " Aurora has asked me to reunite the religious sects so that we may come together in order to reach a place we can call home and start our new lives free and settle down. She has also included some of our newly reformed cylon allies who have pledged their loyalty to her and her chosen one "

Natalie's basestar

After Eloshi's last statement there were a chorus of three saying " Frak " and one saying " Oh gods " from the most unlikely of all Natalie, which caused Kara, Lee and Athena to suddenly look at her.

Kara spoke so only they could hear " Roslin will put it together quickly and realize it is me "

Athena as usual of late, spoke up " I don't think Aurora will let her get the chance to say who it is "

Lee remembering the warning Willow had spoke of two days after he met her asked " What will Aurora do to her? "

Kara remembered also " Oh gods, I hope she doesn't harm Roslin "

Natalie shrugged " I don't know how she will stop her, but Caprica said no one could step foot on new earth if they went against you Kara " Natalie saw her crew starting to approach them and turned to address them " If you would all back up and wait for the meeting to end I will try and answer your questions "

Kara spoke quietly, but with force " Aurora can't expect everyone to to agree with her way, my gods we have non-believers in the fleet for frak's sake "

Athena added " Not all of the cylons are going to suddenly start believing in the colonial gods either "

Lee ever the sensible one added " I don't think she expects that, I believe Aurora's message is simply to follow and stay out of your way Kara "

That gave Kara an idea " Lee you need to go see Willow and speak to Aurora on my behalf "

Lee took a step back " Kara I'm not sure I can do that "

Athena chuckled " Come on Apollo, your not afraid are you? I agree with Starbuck it should be you, plus you know everything and you need to be able to help Mark with all of this "

Kara grabbed his hand saying " If things go the way you all think Mark will be the new president soon " she shivered after saying that, she felt like she had just set fate in motion.

Cloud Nine

Eloshi waited while the questions were shouted at her by several people while others talked among themselves. She also knew the other ships people's would also be asking questions among themselves

Eloshi finally called out " Everyone please be quiet " after repeating it several times she motioned Helo to come up. Helo let out a loud whistle and after getting everyone's attention he stepped down and went back to stand with Racetrack.

After glancing at Roslin whom seemed to be smirking Eloshi faced the crowd " Questions one at a time, please raise your hands " she saw a Priest from the House of Athena and pointed to him " Your question? "

The Priest moved to the front " How did you receive a message from Aurora and who is her chosen one? "

Eloshi bowed her head a second before facing the man " Although I am from the House of Pythia, Aurora showed herself to me in hopes to stop the path we are following using the scrolls of Pythia. I will not reveal the chosen one for safety reasons, but years ago before the fall of the colonies Aurora chose a newborn for this cycle. Most of you don't know this, but all of the houses found out and started to hunt this child, as we now know no one succeeded. "

Next she chose a female reporter who stepped forward " Why are some of the cylons suddenly choosing to side with us and Aurora? "

Eloshi smiled slightly finally glad someone asked a somewhat easy question, but hoping her answer wouldn't upset the cylon leaders too much " As I said some have chosen to do as Aurora asked and the others are starting to question if there is a cylon god. Next question? " she asked

A Priestess stepped forward " Why was there a mission to the Tomb of Athena if we are supposed to follow Aurora? "

Eloshi glanced at Roslin once more and saw that she was definitely smirking now " The followers on the Aurora agreed that it wouldn't hurt to look at the tomb since we were literally on top of it and it did give us a map of sorts. Having said that I must also warn you all that we will be following Aurora and her chosen one or there will be a reckoning and those of you that are believers know what I mean. We do not need to tear the fleet apart if we have any hope of them guiding us to our new home. " she paused " One more question "

A male reporter asked next " What does Commander Adama have to say about all of this? "

Eloshi sighed " Commander Adama is a wise man I have no doubt he will do what is right for the fleet if we as a people can agree on our course. If not we will remain stuck and struggling in space. I might also add that the cylon leaders are getting their groups in order and I strongly suggest we do the same. One more thing before I turn this meeting over to President Roslin. I have it on high authority if we do not agree soon the chosen will leave this fleet with the ones who do believe and they will find the way to a new home on their own. "

As Eloshi stepped down after basically threatening the people chaos took over.

Roslin leaned over and whispered to Mark that she was going to announce her illness and that she had an idea who the chosen one was.

Mark gasped, luckily he had a com link between himself and Willow stopping him from doing something drastic " Don't worry Mark, Aurora won't let her out Kara, but stay close to Roslin she may need you "

Galactica

Adama, Boomer, Tigh and rest of the CIC had been listening to the meeting. Tigh who now knew everything spoke " Roslin is going to know who it is "

Boomer responded " I agree, but I believe Aurora will intervene before she says anything "

Adama chuckled making the two of them look at him " Somehow I think the fleet will agree to accept the cylons before they agree on who to follow which makes this twisted since the cylons leaders have agreed to follow Aurora's path "

They continued to listen gasping at hearing Eloshi's warning.

Boomer looked at Adama " Sir you are going to have to make a fleet wide announcement and say why you are choosing Aurora over Pythia "

Tigh smirked " That should be fun considering most of the people know you don't believe in the gods "

Adama sighed then whispered " I don't know why we can't just announce who the chosen one is, it would save a lot of trouble "

Boomer also whispered " Sir I believe it would cause more trouble " she saw Adama raise his eyebrows as in saying explain " For one Kara is military that might not go over well, also why she is very devote she keeps it private and I don't think Aurora is ready for people to know. That being said most people wouldn't out right accept it unless they saw her mark and it's not like we can drag her around the fleet showing everybody. "

Tigh chuckled " There is no fraking way she would let that happen, Starbuck I mean not Aurora "

Adama had been rubbing his forehead thinking " We might not have to say or do anything if Roslin gets a chance she will tell everyone what she thinks "

Boomer kept quite she felt they were going to witness Aurora's first public act, in what way she had no idea.

Adama was glad he had told each ships Captain to hold off on any calls asked to be placed to the Galactica during and after the meeting. He was glad Kara and Lee were on the basestar considering he would have to make an announcement soon. In what context he had no clue as of yet.

Cloud Nine

Roslin walked up to take Eloshi's place in order to address the crowd and waited as everyone quieted down.

" I have kept a secret from the fleet that I now feel I have to divulge. The Scrolls of Pythia say a dying leader will show us the way to Earth, well I have cancer and I am dying I also don't know how much time I have left." as the crowd once again became loud and shouting questions Roslin raised her hands for silence. " I also think I have figured out who the chosen one is and unlike Priestess Eloshi I feel the people of the fleet have the right to know, so you can decide. I ask you to remember that Pythia and I have gotten us this far. With that being said I will now give you a name "

Everyone on every ship held their breathe.

Roslin opened her mouth to speak " It is " she all of a sudden collapsed like a rag doll without uttering a name.

Mark ran to catch her as Willow had given him a heads up. He checked to make she was still breathing then whispered to Eloshi.

Eloshi stood back up to speak to the silent crowd " The president has only collapsed, but I believe Aurora has just announced her presence. Her chosen one will be protected, heed this warning. Meeting adjourned "
