A Different Beginning

A.N. I know my chapters are still going day to day, sorry about that. There are several chapters left and soon I hope to move forward quicker. Just a short chapter, I needed to get this part done. Promise to follow with more soon.

As always all mistakes are mine. Sorry if there are to many.

Cloud Nine

The marines moved in to disperse the crowd giving Helo and vice president Mark Rivers a chance to move president Roslin onto a fold out table that had been set up prior to the meeting.

Racetrack had placed a call to the Galactica right away only to be told Doc Cottle was already in route to Cloud Nine.

Eloshi and Adam left to check on Willow.

Natalie's basestar

As soon as the meeting ended Athena pulled Kara, Lee and Natalie closer to her " Boomer told me that Caprica wanted you to scan your basestar for any moles that may be working with Cavil "

Natalie looked around before commenting " I am worried about the fours and some of the eights that were close with Cavil. I will need you and Boomer's help to scan them quickly, they already want answers about the meeting "

Lee spoke up " I think you should scan in small groups, so we can make sure without a doubt who we can trust "

Kara added " We also have the Cylon Hub mission coming up soon and we can't afford any traitors "

Lee spoke to Natalie " Kara and I will head back to the Galactica and check on Roslin and Mark, that way we can send Boomer over here to help "

They all nodded in agreement, but Athena had a request " Fill Helo in on what's happening "

Galactica

Adama was waiting at lifestation for Roslin to arrive, any announcement from him would have to wait until he found out what was happening. As he waited he thought back on what Boomer had said in the CIC ' Aurora will intervene before Roslin says anything ". Adama wondered if Aurora was behind what happened to Roslin.

Adama stepped aside as Doc Cottle, his team, Helo and Mark rushed by him.

Cottle quickly yelled out pointing at Mark and Helo " You two get out now "

They both went to stand by Adama who quickly asked " What happened over there? "

Mark gave him a quick version and added " Willow told me not to worry and to get ready to catch Roslin, so I have no doubt Aurora caused her collapse "

Kara and Lee showed up before questions could be asked. Then they told them about the basestar and what was happening over there and that they had sent Boomer to help.

Lee looked at Helo " Athena stayed with Natalie to help them "

Kara spoke to all of them " I want Lee and Natalie to go see Willow, my hope is that Aurora will show herself to them "

Adama asked " Why them ? "

Kara shrugged " I might need Lee's help along the way and Natalie has been going along with everything on blind faith and she is that basestar's leader "

Adama was still skeptical " Why Lee, your dad can help you? "

Kara had an idea he would not like Lee so involved " My dad doesn't have access to the Galactica or me like Lee does "

Cottle walked over to them " I can't find anything wrong with her, as far as I can tell she is in a deep sleep "

Mark asked " Do you have any idea when she might wake up ? "

Cottle shook his head " Could be a day, a week or a month for all I know "

Helo spoke up saying what everyone was thinking " I guess that makes you the President until she does "

Lee slapped him on the shoulder after Cottle walked away " If Aurora has her way it won't be until her chosen one starts leading the fleet in the right direction "

Adama looked at Kara " I need to make a fleet wide announcement, any ideas? "

Kara shook her head then looked at Lee " You got any ideas? "

Lee looked around and saw they were crowded together outside of the lifestation doors and spoke softly " You need to tell them about Roslin and that Mark will be taking over as president. Also with the help of the cylons we will be destroying the resurrection hub and maybe that you have decided to follow Aurora "

Adama snorted " Maybe I should have you write my announcement " then he looked at Kara again " Should I mention my plan to follow Aurora yet? "

Kara chuckled " You would be better off asking Willow, it's kinda funny that I am her chosen one and yet I know the least about what's going on with her "

Mark answered him " I would wait sir and see how things go unless you are asked directly, besides we still have to deal with the cylons before Kara ever sees any signs to wherever we are going "

Adama had a sudden thought then wondered why he hadn't thought of it before " Helo go to the basestar and ask Natalie for pictures of the seven cylons so we can check the fleet out. We may have cylons that have been with us since the beginning " he turned to Lee " I want three teams of marines going throughout the fleet, some may be hiding out, get on it as soon as Helo brings their pictures back "

Kara quickly asked " What if they see Willow, we can't let that happen "

Lee had an idea " I'll give copies to Adam and tell the marines to stay away from the President's restaurant "

Kara nodded " That should work, plus I would like to go see her and Adam and you need to talk to Willow "

Lee shook his head " I'd rather wait and do it with Natalie "

Kara chuckled " Fine, Natalie's busy right now but I am going alone, I guess you will be going with the marines "

Lee stared at her " Where you go I go "

Adama had decided they had talked enough " We need to get out of this walkway and start doing things and I am getting worried about Caprica "

Kara was also worried about her " Helo ask Boomer to try and get in touch with Caprica "

They all walked away except Adama went one way while the four of them headed to the hangar bay.

Lee walked by Mark " You need to go to Colonial One " he glanced back at Helo " Call me as soon as you have the photos "

Helo asked Racetrack to drop him off on the basestar before taking Mark to Colonial One.

Kara and Lee took another raptor " Lee you need to rework the schedule so that Racetrack is around when one of us needs her "

Lee sighed " I need to rework the whole thing, with you out and Racetrack tied up I am going to have to put myself back in rotation even though I want to stay as close to you as possible "

Kara nodded " Especially if you can talk to Aurora, Lee have you even checked on the pilots? "

Lee was ready to lift off " I think Tigh and dad have been handling the rosters "

Kara looked at him " We need to check on the pilots when we get back "

Natalie's basestar

When Helo arrived inside the main hub Athena, Boomer and Natalie were scanning the twos, fours, eights and the sixes. After speaking to Athena he asked to speak to Boomer and Natalie.

They walked away from everyone else .

Boomer asked " What's going on? "

Helo answered her " Apollo needs photos of the seven models so they can check in the fleet in case anyone is hiding out among the people, Natalie they assumed you could get them. "

Natalie nodded " What else? "

Helo looked at Boomer " Kara wants you to check on Caprica, have you heard from her? "

Boomer shook her head " No, but I am getting worried about her and Eliza "

Helo looked toward Athena " Have you found any Cavil sympathizers ? "

Natalie answered " So far an eight and a four " she paused " I disconnected them and placed them in a holding cell "

Helo bowed his head for a second " I'll wait here for the photos "

Boomer walked away to try and connect with Caprica before going back to help Athena.

Helo walked up to stand by Athena.

She smiled at him " I had Simon check on the baby and he said everything was okay "

It wasn't long before Natalie appeared with the photos " What will you do if you find any? "

Helo took the photos seeing that she had made several copies " We will put them in Galactica's brig for now, I'm sure you can speak with them and hopefully get a sense as to what they have been up to "

Boomer walked back up and pulled them away " I talked to Caprica, they have been busy. They killed all of the Doral and Cavil copies on Caprica and after finding survivors in the farms, detention centers and a few more resistance fighters they nuked Caprica after spotting a rouge cylon basestar. It got away, so now they are scanning Caprica's basestar and then they are going to try and locate the resurrection hub before joining the fleet. "

Natalie gasped " They have been busy, but we need to stay on alert for any rouge cylon basestars. I know Cavil at least has two "

Helo asked " How much longer do ya'll need because Boomer needs to get back to the CIC and relay the information? "

Natalie waved her hand around " Athena and I can finish up here. Ask Starbuck if there is any chance I can meet Willow. "

Helo chuckled " I heard Kara tell the Commander that she wants you and Apollo to talk with her, I thinks she is hoping that you can both talk to Aurora "

Natalie whole face lit up " Tell her to let me know when it is safe for me to go "

Helo kissed Athena's cheek goodbye " I'll tell her, you ready to go Boomer, we can use the raptor I saw in the bay "

Athena turned around " Hey, that's my ride "

Boomer looked at her with smirk " Just call me and I'll have someone pick you up "

They left headed back to the Galactica.
