A Different Beginning

Chapter 51

A.N. The time-line is at six months. All mistakes are mine. This is a longer chapter than usual.

Cloud Nine

When no one said anything Lee went to Kara and kissed her, shocking Kara, after pulling back she asked " What's going on Lee? "

Lee looked at Adam and Willow " Give us a minute " and he grabbed Kara's hand and pulled her to Mark's office and shut the door, he sat behind Mark's desk " Kara have a seat please, I need to tell and ask you something "

Kara had no idea what Lee wanted, but she sat down " You are starting to worry me Lee, what's happening? "

Lee sighed " You know that I love you Kara, so when you jumped away to Caprica I made a decision that after the amazing night we had together after the dance that I wanted us to be together forever. Then I found out you were Aurora'a chosen one and I wanted to be by your side for whatever you have to face going forward. I also want us to make a home together when you find our new world " he reached into the desk drawer toward the back of it and pulled out a small box.

Lee got up and walked to stand before Kara and knelt down so he could look her in the face and opened the box taking out the ring then grabbed her hand gently " Kara will you marry me? "

Kara was shocked " Why now Lee? "

Lee showed her the engagement ring " I don't know about you Kara, but I want to be with you forever and I would like us to start our lives together now, plus Aurora said that it is what we should do " Lee bowed his head " Kara I had already planned on asking you before she brought it up, but it is your decision "

Kara took the ring and looked at it, noting the silver band with a small emerald on top of it, she though it was beautiful. Kara looked at Lee patiently waiting for her to answer. She knew she would never love anyone else and Lee had always stood beside and never once doubted or cared that Aurora had chosen her or that she had a destiny.

She grabbed his chin so that he was looking at her " Yes Lee I will marry you, I love you and want to be with you for the rest of our lives "

Before Kara knew it Lee had stood up and pulled her from the chair into his arms lifting her up and swinging her around, they both began laughing and crying, she never knew she could feel so happy.

Lee put her down and took the ring from her placing it on her finger then he kissed the ring before looking up and pulled her into a kiss which got away from them quickly.

Kara pulled back, but stayed in his arms " What else did Aurora have to say? "

Lee went over to shelf and got two glasses and a bottle of scotch Mark kept in his office " A lot, but first let's toast to our upcoming marriage, then your dad and Willow can tell you everything " Lee poured two drinks and handed one to her.

Kara asked " Lee how come you can't tell me? "

Lee sighed " Kara it was my first time seeing Aurora and it has me a little rattled, besides between Willow and Adam they will remember all of it, like I said it's a lot, but we can talk about it after you find out. "

Lee raised his glass " To the love of my life " Kara smiled " Ditto " then touched her drink to his.

After finishing their drinks Lee went to hug her again " I'll keep watch out front, and send them in, I would keep the bottle out, you may need it " he smirked before leaving.

Lee went to find Adam " She is waiting in Mark's office, I'll be out front "

Willow asked " Why did you take her away? "

Lee grinned " I proposed and she said yes, but let her tell you "

Adam clapped him on the back " Congratulations and welcome to the family "

Willow hugged him " I'm glad you did it before she heard that is what Aurora demanded "

Lee shrugged "I have had the ring for a while, I was planning on asking her anyway "

Lee left and Kara was in the office admiring her ring and thinking about the ceremony she wanted to have, she couldn't stop smiling.

Then the door to the office opened, Kara could tell by the looks on their faces that whatever Aurora had said was worrying them.

Kara broke the silence " Well sit down and tell me " Kara knew that Lee would have told them about their engagement.

Adam sat where Lee had and Willow sat on the desk. They then told her everything with Willow adding " Aurora doesn't want the cylons to know about the final five or anyone else I don't think "

Kara who was still overwhelmed " Adama has to know, and Dee has to be taken care of " she paused " I can't believe Lee was chosen by Apollo and that we were bonded before we were even born "

Adam added " Aurora also said you are the dawn, Lee is the sun and your destinies are intertwined and without Lee your destiny cannot be fulfilled "

Kara wasn't happy " Even though I believe in the gods I don't like the fact that they have always controlled our lives "

Adam sighed " It is what they had to do Kara, for mankind, talk to Lee about it, besides you can't change it now "

Kara was sad " Does Lee really love me or is just because of Aurora and Apollo? "

Willow got up and grabbed her hand " I think you and Lee would have found each other without them interfering, I see the connection you two have "

Adam got up " You and Lee can talk about it, but you have things you need to do on the Galactica and the basestar "

They all walked back into the restaurant, Lee immediately went to Kara and grabbed her hand " Are you okay? "

Kara squeezed his hand " I guess, let's go home "

After saying goodbye they took their raptor to Galactica.

Raptor

Kara waited until they took off then turned to Lee " Do you love me just because the gods chose us? "

Lee had been worried that would bother her " No Kara, they may have chose us, but we could have completed your destiny without falling in love "

Lee asked " Why do you love me Kara? "

She smiled " I just do, let's not talk about it again, we need to plan the wedding as soon as we can, but we have a lot of stuff to do first "

Lee sighed " I don't care how much is going on, we are getting married soon " he thought about Aurora's warning that soon she would start dreaming and they needed to be married.

Kara agreed " We need to make a list of who can be there and keep it small "

Lee grinned " We'll do it tonight since you will be staying with me, it has been a while since we have been alone together "

Kara laughed " Lee we have been locked in a room together the last couple of nights "

Lee smirked " This has been a long frakking day, besides Athena was with us for a while "

Kara smirked " Fine, plus we need to properly celebrate our engagement "

Lee was approaching Galactica " Now we get to tell the Commander about the final five and it needs to be just the two of us, maybe we can talk with him over dinner "

Galactica

When they landed the Chief told them " The Commander wants both of you to meet him in the situation room "

Lee was finishing the check list on the raptor " Thanks Chief "

Lee looked around for Kara and saw her peeking around the raptor, so he walked up behind her " What are you doing Kara? "

Kara jumped a little " Watching Cally and Crash making out behind his viper, did you know they were an item? "

Lee looked at them " No, but since they relaxed the frat regs I'm not surprised, but they shouldn't be doing it where people can see them. Should I break it up? "

Kara shook her head " I'll talk to Crash later, besides I want to make sure he is serious about them and not just using Cally "

Lee touched her arm " Come on we have to go "

Situation Room

When Kara and Lee walked in Mark was in there with Adama.

Adama motioned them in " I'm glad you two are here, we have a couple of issues to discuss, you two might need a drink "

Kara moaned " Oh gods, is there more bad news " she then went to pour her and Lee a drink.

Adama asked " What's happened now? "

Lee took his drink from Kara and looked at her, she nodded " Kara and I have some good news, we are engaged, and we are getting married soon "

Mark got up and hugged her then shook Lee's hand " It's about time, congratulations "

Kara showed him her ring " You know that has been in my desk for a while now "

Adama got up too " When did this happen? "

Kara answered " Lee asked me on Cloud Nine a couple of hours ago and apparently Aurora thought it should happen also "

Adama was going to keep his questions to himself, he learned the hard way not to interfere with them, so he hugged Kara then Lee " Congratulations I'm happy for you both "

Lee sat down pulling Kara beside him on the couch " So, what did you want to see us about? "

Adama was going with the easy one first " There have been three cylon models found in the fleet so far, a three, two and a one, they are in the brig "

Kara and Lee looked at each other, Lee asked " I hope they were not put by Dee "

Adama shook his head " They are on another level, why? "

Kara spoke " We will talk about that later, what else? "

Mark stood up " Billy asked me to see about getting Shevon released so she can take care of her little girl, I told him I would have to ask even though this falls under civilian authority "

Adama looked at them " I have already agreed, but I'm not doing anything unless you both agree "

Lee looked at Kara " I'm leaving it up to you "

Kara thought about it, she had been told the woman was used by Dee and didn't know how much trouble she had caused, besides she had a daughter " I'ts okay as long as she doesn't step foot on the Galactica or Cloud Nine ever again "

Mark sat back down " I agree with you, as a matter of fact one of my Presidential orders is going to be that no working girls are allowed to work their trades on Cloud Nine again "

Lee agreed " That should have been stopped from the beginning "

Mark sighed " There is another issue, Tom Zarek wants to attend the next Quorum meeting, Billy thinks he is going to bring up the fact that it is time to have elections for the office of president since Roslin's term is up "

Lee swore " Frak, it has been six months and we promised him new elections "

Kara finished her drink " We can't let that happen "

Adama snorted " It isn't going to happen, if it comes to it we can say that he has to wait until Roslin comes out of coma "

Lee thought a second " Then he will push for a vice president and we all know he wants the job "

Kara asked " Does anyone know where he stands in regards to the cylons or Aurora and Pythia? "

They all shook their head, Lee answered " We haven't heard anything from him which is strange, were any of the cylons found on the Astral Queen? "

Adama shook his head " No "

Mark added " No one spoke for the House of Pythia in the meeting, I'm guessing without Roslin and Eloshi they didn't have anything to say "

Kara thought about it " You should ask Eloshi to speak to them, she was their Priestess "

Mark got up " I will and now I have to go, Commander besides yourself the Quorum would like to speak to Natalie and maybe another cylon, the meeting is tomorrow after lunch "

Kara walked him to the door " Caprica should be here tomorrow "

After Kara sat back down and Adama refreshed their drinks he asked " Okay what couldn't you say in front of Mark? "

Lee looked at his dad " Aurora told us you knew there was twelve cylon models since Ragnar, why didn't you tell anyone? "

Adama shrugged " I thought it would cause a panic and I didn't know if it was true, I wonder now who left the note "

After they told Adama most everything Aurora said, he sat back in silence taking it all in.

He looked at Lee " Do you think she is right about the other four? "

Lee nodded " I do, she seems to know everything, so I trust her, plus she would not put Kara in danger "

Adama asked " So what do we do about Dee? "

Kara answered " We can't take her wherever we are going and we can't chance she will download. We can't ask Boomer for help without telling her what she is, but not Athena and Helo they would never agree, so we can't tell them, plus Aurora said to get rid of her. Even if we come up with a plan I don't know how we can get her off of this ship "

Kara added " Lee left out the part where Apollo chose him before he was born, just as Aurora chose me "

Lee looked at her " Kara I didn't want anyone to know that "

Kara smirked " Well, I didn't want to be the only chosen one "

Adama was horrified " What does that mean? "

Lee answered " Something about Kara being the dawn and me the sun and one can't exist without the other, plus I am supposed to help Kara with her destiny "

Adama gave up trying to understand any of this anymore, he had no choice but to go with all of it. " Kara see if you can talk to Boomer about Dee, Lee I need to speak with you "

Kara was leaving when Lee asked " Can Kara and I stay in the guest quarters we have been in for the last two days? "

Adama sighed " I suppose and I assume she will be safer there "

Lee looked at Kara " I'll meet you there later, I need to check on the pilots first "

Kara nodded " I'll be on the hangar deck after I talk to Boomer "

After Kara left Lee went to sit in the chair by his dad. " What did you want to speak to me about ? "

Adama looked at him " Lee I can tell when you want to talk without Kara being around, so what's going on and I also wanted to talk about the pilots, but since you are headed there later, talk to me "

Lee whispered " Aurora doesn't want Kara to know this, but the way she will find our new home will be when she sleeps " Lee paused " Aurora thinks if she knows she will try to force it or not be able to sleep. In the early morning when she sleeps she will dream of flying across the galaxies as Aurora brings in the dawn as she does every morning. Only with Kara she will be showing her the way home. Kara can't be disturbed, so I will have to cut off alarms and anything else that might wake her "

Adama still couldn't wrap his head around how important Kara and now his son is " That is why Aurora wanted you to marry, so you could make sure she dreams undisturbed. How long will this take? "

Lee spoke low again " She said several weeks, but not until the fleet and the cylons are in agreement "

Adama asked " Lee do you know anything about this place we are going? "

Lee smiled " Kara had a dream about it while we were on the basestar and Caprica was able to project it so the three of us saw it. Dad it was beautiful and there were people and children in a park with mountains in the background, it was kinda like Caprica but fresher, newer, that's the only way I can explain it. I wish I had remembered to ask Aurora about it "

Adama sighed, it sounded wonderful " Lee if everyone can't agree, what will Aurora and Kara do? "

Lee sighed " I don't think either one will wait long, after meeting Aurora I don't doubt she will leave people behind. Having said that I think you need to see how the military feel, because if Kara leaves I am going with her "

Adama snorted " They go where I go "

Lee stood up running his hand through his hair " It doesn't work that way, half of the military believe in the gods, but I don't know about Aurora. You are going to have to give them a choice and if you want the civilians to follow then they need to know the military is united and you need to do it before the meeting tomorrow. You also need to let them know there will be two more basestars soon. Aurora said Caprica would be here soon "

Adama stood up pacing " I am just going to announce it ship wide and if they have questions they can come to me, Tigh, you or Kara. We don't have time to coddle them "

Lee nodded " Things are moving fast, so that's all we can do and with the hub mission coming up we need to know where they each stand. I have to go, I assume Helo is still acting cag "

Adama nodded " Yes, but I need you and Kara with the pilots as much as possible "

Lee left to find Helo.

Kara finally found Boomer in the rec room talking with Sam and one of his guys.

She sat down smirking " What's up? " placing her hand on the table.

Boomer saw the ring right away and chuckled " Looks like something is up with you, so when did he ask you "

Kara smiled " A few hours ago, the wedding is happening soon, I don't care what is going on "

Sam grinned " Anxious aren't you "

Kara smirked " Top priority " she looked at Boomer " I need to talk to you now, alone "

Boomer got up " See you later guys the boss needs me " they laughed and Kara rolled her eyes " Come on Boomer "

Boomer followed her and watched as Kara grabbed Mathis as they passed her and went to the room Kara and Lee had been staying in. She stopped long enough to speak to Mathis " I want you to keep out everyone except Captain Adama and I don't want you within hearing distance of this hatch "

Boomer knew it was serious. When they got into the room she watched as Kara chewed her bottom lip and paced before sitting and motioning for her to sit.

Kara looked at Boomer " We have got a problem, we need to get rid of Dee without anyone knowing "

Boomer wondered why " Okay, can you tell me why, not that I mind, but this sounds extreme? "

Kara looked around the room " Frak, Aurora might strike me dead, I'm not supposed to tell anyone, but I need your help " she paused while tapping her fingers on the table " I need you to swear that you won't tell anybody, it's too important "

Boomer didn't remember seeing her so wound up before " You know you can tell me anything, remember I am here to watch out for you no matter what, you come first "

Kara nodded and told about the origin of the first five cylons.

Boomer was shocked, but especially about Cavil's part in it all " So what's this have to do with Dee? "

Kara went back to pacing " Dee is one of the five and Aurora said she is a danger to us and the cylons and we need to get rid of her "

Boomer asked " Why doesn't Aurora take care of her? "

Kara looked at her like she missed the point " She would probably download, that's why we need to come up with a plan. We can't kill her or airlock her and we sure as frak can't take her with us. So how do we do it? " Kara was frustrated cause she could usually come up with a plan.

Boomer had to ask " Who are the other four "

Kara smirked " Don't know, Aurora wouldn't tell them she said they were good cylons, plus none of them know what they are and apparently Dee takes after Leobon, they share the obsessive gene "

Boomer had an idea " If we could get Dee onto a heavy raider without her being seen I could get us somewhere away from any resurrection ships, but then someone would have to take care of her. Any ideas on how to get her to the raider? "

Kara shook her head " Not yet, I'll figure something out tonight and you need to find out where we can take her "

Boomer got up " Okay, but we need to be quick there is a lot happening tomorrow "

Kara sighed loudly " I know, I almost forgot I am supposed to go see the hybrid and Natalie is supposed to be with me. Frak I am never gonna find time to get married "

Boomer had to ask " Why the hybrid? "

Kara was tired of thinking " Something about helping Natalie to get her cylons to believe there is no cylon god. I need to go to the hangar deck, I'll find you later, thanks "

Kara stopped outside long enough to thank Mathis and walked slowly to the hangar deck looking for Crash. She passed Lee's office but he wasn't there, so she walked on to the hanger deck. Before going down she looked around the bay trying to come up with a way of getting Dee down there. There were pilots and deck crew everywhere. She knew Shevon would be gone soon, as she thought that see saw a marine and Billy getting into a raptor with the woman she had caught Lee with, that was fast. Kara hoped Dee hadn't been mean to Billy, she knew they were close for a short time. Now Adama could call the marine guard away then they could make it look like Dee had escaped, but still how to get her from there to here. She was deep in thought when someone walked up beside her.

Helo bumped her shoulder " Cubit for your thoughts Kara "

Kara sure wasn't going to tell him " What do you know about Crash and Cally? "

Helo shrugged " Only that they are seen together a lot lately, why? "

Kara smirked " Just going to have a little talk with him about it. Do you know how the pilots and crew feel about the cylons and Aurora? "

He shook his head " Not all of them, but most seem okay about the cylons, I'm not sure about their religious preference. The ones that know about you are following Aurora "

Kara looked up at him " You, Racetrack and Sam need to start talking up Aurora or some people are going to be left behind soon " she held up her hand " Oh and I'm getting married as soon as possible "

Helo grabbed her hand to see the ring " When did this happen? "

Kara smiled " A few hours ago "

Helo hugged her " Congratulations " he let her go and stepped back " Kara you can't be serious about leaving people "

Kara shrugged " It's Aurora's rules and I have to follow them. By the way why can't people just agree since it means a place to live free? "

Helo looked at her " Maybe if you tell them they will listen "

Kara shook her head " Aurora said no, I think she is worried I might get killed or sacrificed, some of these religious folks are fanatics. Adama is meeting with the Quorum and I'm pretty sure he is going to tell them the Galactica will be following Aurora with or without them " she paused " Like I said talk Aurora's path up to them and I intend to do a little talking myself "

Kara walked away when she saw Lee " Catch you later Helo "

She walked down to where he was looking at some list " Hey what are you doing? "

He grabbed her hand " I still can't believe you said yes " he kissed her ring finger again " I was looking over the flight schedule, Helo is doing a good job and it helps that we don't have to worry about the cylons as much. Are you ready to get something to eat and head to our room to celebrate? " he asked with a wicked grin.

Kara squeezed his hand " I want to, but I think we need to go to the rec room tonight and see how things are going. You know they will talk more off duty and with the chief's special brew in them "

Lee looked around " What if some don't show? "

Kara smirked " That's easy " she went to stand on the ladder of her viper and hollered " Listen up, there is going to be a party in the rec room tonight, Apollo and I are celebrating because we got engaged today "

After that you could hear whistling, whooping and clapping.

Kara walked back to Lee grinning and so was he. He never expected Kara to want to share it with everyone, if that's why she did it.

Kara kissed him when she reached him with tongue and all for a full minute while the crowd was still whistling. She didn't care, they were getting married. When she pulled back she gloated " That's how you get people to show up and we need to casually drop hints that we believe Aurora is who we should follow and with the cylons"

Lee held onto to her " Are you happy that we are engaged or did you use it to get people to come? "

Kara grabbed his chin " Yes Lee I am very happy that's why I told everyone, you know me I could have said we were playing strip triad and everybody would have come or any other excuse, I love you Lee and I don't care if we announce it to the whole fleet "

This time Lee leaned forward and kissed her like she had him a couple of minutes ago.

Someone shouted " Save something for the honeymoon or get a room "

The speakers crackled causing everyone to stand at attention.

" This is your Commander I have something to tell you. It is for our ship only as I have a meeting with the Quorum tomorrow I wanted to let my crew know first what I will be telling them. First there will be two more friendly cylon basestars joining us soon, we are going to help them destroy their main cylon hub ending cylon resurrection forever. Second I don't know your religious beliefs or if you even believe in the gods, but the Galactica will be following Aurora's path not Pythia. Now if any of you don't like my choices you are welcome to leave the military with honorable discharges, but this crew has been through a lot since our worlds ended and I hope each and everyone of you stay. Trust me when I say that following Aurora will lead us to our new home and soon if everyone can agree. If you have questions ask them, you can ask me, Colonel Tigh, Apollo or Starbuck we will answer what we can. Take the night and decide because we have a big mission coming up, I will need your decisions in the morning. Thank you for listening "

Everyone turned to look at Starbuck and Apollo, they weren't asking questions just waiting.

Lee spoke loud enough for them to hear " We don't know much more, but we can talk in the rec room tonight "

People started talking among themselves knowing neither one of them would answer any questions right now. That is until the Chief bellowed out " Get back to work and if you don't need to be here leave "

Helo walked up " Kara did you know the Commander was going to say all of that? "

Kara shook her head.

Lee answered " I knew some of it and that he was going to do it before the meeting, but I thought he would announce it in the morning "

Helo looked at them " What are we supposed to say to them when they ask? "

Kara put her hands on her hips " Exactly what you believe Helo, just remember you can't share details "

Lee added " It wouldn't hurt to say you heard rumors that if people didn't follow Aurora and her chosen one they might get left behind "

Helo bowed his head before walking away.

Kara grabbed Lee's hand " Let's go to your office for a minute "

Once there Kara locked the hatch " I talked to Boomer and I had to tell her about the five cylons, before you say anything it was the only way. I figured out how to get Dee out of the brig also how to make it look like she escaped and Boomer said if we can get her to the raider she can jump us away from any resurrection ships. I just don't know how to get her from the brig to the hangar bay. You got any ideas? "

Lee didn't know what to say, he didn't want to commit murder, but to protect Kara he knew he would. He wondered if this was a part of his destiny. How could they move her? " I could say I am transporting her to the Astral Queen and she escaped into the fleet "

Kara shook her head " She has to be in the raider, but we can use your idea to get her to the deck. I will have Sam move a raptor close to the raider tonight and with a distraction we should be able to get her into the raider "

Lee hung his head " Sam can't know and I don't want you to have to kill her "

Kara made him look at her " Sam won't ask questions and Boomer will take care of her not me " she didn't know if that last bit was true.

Lee had to say it " Kara are you sure we need to kill her? "

Kara walked to him and hugged him then leaned back " Lee she is a cylon and she is almost as bad as Leobon was and her cylon programming hasn't kicked in yet, and if it does she will turn on us and the cylons. You all told me that Aurora said to get rid of her. I don't like it either, but we can't take her with us, this is the only way. She is already crazy and we sure don't need another Leobon to deal with. Dee could also harm the other four when they all get turned on. "

Lee put his forehead to hers " I know, talk to Sam and I'll get her to the bay, but she stays in handcuffs and don't turn your back to her. As a matter of fact keep your gun on her at all times "

Kara kissed him quickly " I know Lee, when are we going to find time to get married? "

Lee chuckled " It depends on what kind of a wedding you want "

Kara grinned " I want Eloshi to marry us and I thought we could have it in Mark's restaurant so my dad and Willow can be there. I would like a few of our friends to be there and also your dad and Boomer "

Lee smirked " You want your gang to be there, don't you? "

Kara shrugged " Yeah, they have been with me through it all, but we would be taking a lot of people off the Galactica and I don't think that will be possible, it would mean leaving Tigh to watch over everything "

Lee nodded " We will make a list tonight, it will be like making a flight schedule, maybe after the meeting tomorrow we can get everyone together. We will make it work because I want to marry you before the mission "

Kara hugged him again " We just solved two problems, now we need to eat then go to the rec room and hopefully to bed soon, this has been a long day "

Lee laughed " I can't believe we left the room this morning and went to the basestar, it has definitely been a long day and it's not over yet, let's go eat before something else comes up "

As they were eating Kara was trying to remember who all knew she was the chosen one, cylons included, she whispered to Lee " We also need to make a list of who knows about Aurora and me, and you "

Lee chuckled " Let's keep me out of it, and as for the other I suspect that list will match the one for the wedding, except not everyone knows about your dad "

Kara dropped her fork " Frak, I forgot about that "

Rec Room

After eating they went to the rec room and sat with Duck, Keeper and Nora. Kara knew Nora was a marine and that her and Duck was seeing each other before the war started. They were the best kept secret aboard the Galactica, but she also suspected that Keeper had been helping them see each other.

Kara had sat between Nora and Lee " Nice to see you out with Duck, Nora "

Nora grinned " I thank the gods Commander Adama changed the frat regs " Kara winked at Duck who heard them and he put his arm around Nora, who was about as tall as herself with reddish blonde hair, and bulkier. She had to be for her job.

Lee looked around and saw Slider, Jojo, Crash, Racetrack and Cally at another table. To their right he saw Boomer, Athena, Helo, and the Chief at another table. Between the two tables sat Kat, Hotdog, Skulls and another ECO, which meant Topper, Chuckles and Ripper were on cap. There were more pilots, deck crew and a few marines scattered around. He wondered how long it would be before they came over to Kara and himself.

Keeper asked looking at Kara " Did the Commander mean what he said? "

Kara looked at the ones around her " Yes, so how many of you agree with him? "

Keeper answered " I don't believe in the gods, but I do believe in the Commander and the two of you, so I will be staying " he looked at Duck " What about you two? "

Duck looked at Nora " I go where you go, so it's up to you "

They all looked at Nora " I believe in the gods, but not one in particular and I know Commander Adama would not choose to follow Aurora without a very good reason, so we'll stay and follow the Commander "

Kara sighed one table down and a lot more to go, somehow she didn't think they would all be this easy. There was only one way to get this started.

Kara stood up in her chair " I know you are all discussing what the Commander announced earlier and I just wanted to let you all know that this table " she pointed down " Will be following the Commander and Aurora "

Kara saw Helo and his table stand up " We are going with the Commander and Aurora " Kara was glad Chief had made his mind up.

Lee saw Racetrack and Slider move to stand at Helo's table and spoke " We agree, but those three don't "

Before Kara could ask Jojo spoke " If there were gods Pike would not have died on Kobol "

Kara sighed " Jojo we have lost a lot of people since this war began, I don't think Pike would want you to be left behind "

Crash yelled " That's what I don't get, why do we have to be left just because we don't believe? "

Lee stood up " You don't have to believe in the gods you just have to follow the Galactica and leave the chosen one alone, because without that person we will never find a home. The rift is between Pythia and Aurora, but you can't follow if you choose Pythia "

Tanner a marine stepped closer to the center " I was with President Roslin when she had visions of Earth and Kobol " he looked at Starbuck " You went to Caprica for the arrow, so you must have believed in Pythia, so why change your mind? "

Kara walked closer to him " For the same reason Eloshi did Tanner, she spoke to Aurora and I know a lot about the gods and when one shows herself you listen or suffer the consequences " she sighed and looked around " You all need to make a choice, we have a mission coming up and we can't afford to be divided. Now is there anyone else who has decided? "

Hotdog stood and went to Starbuck and looked at her " I'm going where god tells me to go "

You could hear chuckles around the room.

Kara watched as Keeper went over to Kat and whispered something to her and she stood up, she wondered when that had started.

Kat looked down at the rookie eco Jumper and he stood up " We are with the Commander " Jumper was new to the squadron, he had decided after watching Racetrack, but waited on Kat to decide.

That still left Crash, Jojo, Cally and Skulls, until Racetrack went and pulled her eco up " Skulls agrees also "

Before Kara could ask Crash, Cally, and Jojo what they were going to do Mathis stepped forward " I am following you and Apollo, the two of you have never let this fleet down. I spoke with Corporal Veneer who is on the basestar and he agrees with me "

Kara asked her " Could you speak with the rest of the marines, especially Tanner? " she then yelled at the chief " Chief can you speak to your deck crew and see where they stand, the sooner the better? "

Lee who was still standing looked at the assorted pilots, eco's, deck crew, and a couple of marines " What about the rest of you? "

Chief answered " The deck crew and Jammer will stay on the Galactica " he looked at Cally " I have an idea why you are upset Cally, but you are going to have to accept them "

Kara now understood what Cally's problem was, she looked down at Keeper " You need to talk to Jojo, I will speak to Crash "

Kara then walked out after getting Crash to follow her, she then led them to a table in the mess hall away from other people " What's going on with you and Cally? "

Crash looked past her " We have been seeing each other for a few weeks "

Kara sighed " Crash I hope you are not leading her on, Cally hasn't been in a relationship since I have been stationed on the Galactica "

Crash looked at her this time " I'm not, we are serious about each other "

Kara crossed her arms " Than why are you two not willing to follow the Galactica and Aurora? "

Crash looked away " I want to, but Cally doesn't trust the cylons "

Kara rolled her eyes " Crash they are not going away and if she can't accept them then I don't know what will happen to the two of you. " she paused " The cylon leaders will be giving their cylons the same conditions, look you need to get Cally to change her mind we need both of you with us " she looked at him before continuing " Crash we have a chance to start fresh on a new planet, but you have to decide before the mission "

Kara left headed to the deck to talk to Sam.

Back in the rec room Keeper end Duck were talking to Jojo.

Keeper asked " Man what is your problem, do you want to be left behind with the ones who can't agree with Commander Adama? "

Jojo shrugged " Pike believed in the gods and look what happened to him and why couldn't the chosen one help him? "Duck sighed " Nora said the chosen one is to lead us to our new home, they can't interfere in other matters "

Keeper added " It's like Starbuck said, we have lost a lot of people since the war started and I don't think Pike would want you to give up "

Jojo crossed his arms " I'll think about it "

Duck stood up " You have until the morning to decide "

Keeper and Duck walked away and went back to Nora and Apollo.

Duck asked " Where is Starbuck, I thought we were celebrating? "

Apollo said " She will be back, until then let's get some of the Chief's brew passed around "

As they got up they saw Crash had came back and was talking to Cally.

Keeper and Apollo went to Boomer's table and saw lots of glasses set up and the chief already filling them.

Boomer asked " Where is Starbuck? " just as she entered the room and came over to them.

Helo stood up " All right people come and get your glass so we can toast Starbuck and Apollo on their engagement "

Everyone started heading their way even Cally and Crash, each picking up a glass.

Kara stood next to Lee wondering who would say something.

Boomer stood on a chair " I knew they would get together almost from the moment they met. I have never met two people who were so in sync, but almost the opposite of each other in the way they go about things. They have also risked their lives in order to protect their pilots, putting themselves last. I know most of you won't believe me, but I believe in the gods and am certain that they bless the union of Starbuck and Apollo. With that being said I pray that they get to enjoy a long and happy life together. To Starbuck and Apollo. "

Everyone raised their glasses and shouted " To Starbuck and Apollo "

Crash remembered Starbuck saving him at the risk of her own life. He looked at Cally " I owe Starbuck, Cally we need to stay with them "

Kara looked at Boomer who winked at her before downing her drink.

Lee and Kara smiled at each other and clinked their glasses, then drank.

The talking was over after that, although there were some who wanted to know why Boomer a cylon believed in the gods.

After talking with several people Kara and Lee slipped out and headed to their room.

They made two lists one who knew about her and one who knew about her dad and had to settle on the one who knew about her and her dad.

Which included Willow, Eloshi, Mark, Adama, Helo, Racetrack, Boomer and Athena and Tigh, but he needed to stay on the Galactica.

Lee stated " You need to tell Caprica, it would give her a chance to see Willow "

Kara hid the paper and got up looked at him and winked " I need a shower, do you want to join me? "

Lee jumped up from the bed and started stripping " Race you "

He beat her there, but Kara was a second behind him giving him time to turn the water on " Frak Lee that's cold " she reached and fixed the water.

They both stepped in, Kara wet her hair and reached for the shampoo, she felt dirty after the long day.

Lee grabbed her around the waist, Kara laughed " We need to get clean first, I plan on having you all night or at least until I fall asleep "

He backed off and washed after Kara had finished, who stood there watching him " Want to help? " he smirked

Kara shook her head " No, just waiting "

As soon as he finished she attacked him, kissing his lips and moving on to his neck where she bit him tenderly. Lee wasn't passive as soon as she left his neck he attacked hers sucking on that certain patch she loved so much.

He then kissed his way toward her breast placing his mouth on one of her breast suckling it before doing the same to the other. He felt Kara reach for his erection causing him to pull away from her breasts. He grabbed her waist and backed her against the wall and lifted one of her legs and pushed inside of her in one quick thrust.

Kara gasped " Oh my gods Lee "

Lee took her head in his hand so they were looking at each other as they found their rhythm. Kara closed her eyes when it seized her causing her to clamp tight around him. Lee thrust two more times before he followed her into release. They stay wrapped around each other gasping until the water turned cold.

Lee stepped out and grabbed two towels handing her one. " Let's get into bed, I believe you said something about all night " he smirked.

After Kara had her towel on she grabbed him and kissed him long and hard before pushing him towards the bed.

They made love much slower before sleep took them, even though they tried to stay awake.

A.N. The next chapter is another long day. Caprica and Eliza return, Quorum meeting, hybrid and the wedding. Oh and Dee somewhere in between something. Then hopefully the hub and Kara will start dreaming, unless another problem appears.

I hope you liked this chapter. I am trying to finish both of my fics. I have a couple of ideas for another story, one if the war never happened or another about finding modern day earth. They will revolve around Kara and Lee either way.
