Chapter Forty-Six
~ Death the Kid ~
The terrified girl I held so closely to my angered body trembled with both fear, as well as the icy cold that still pricked at her eagerly at her existence.
Soul quickly gathered blankets from his room and draped them across her tiny shoulders. Her blood stained hands shaking vigorously as she tried her hardest to keep the blankets around herself.
James bolted back through the front door from the hallway. "There's no sign of him!"
"What!" I snapped, trying my hardest to keep the shivering girl close to me. "Where the hell did he go?"
"But I..." Maka stammered. "I... watched him f-fall..."
I squeezed her closer to me. "I know..."
"How the hell did he even get in?" Liz exclaimed from the sofa behind us.
James kicked the door shut behind him, pushing his hands against it firmly to make sure it was closed properly, before pulling it open once again, without making an effort to even turn the handle.
He closed it once again, "he fucked the door."
"Fantastic," Soul hissed. "He also fucked with the heating."
"The heating?" James questioned.
"Yeah," I replied, pulling the girl closer towards me. "The reason why Maka woke up was because she was too hot."
The black haired boy raised an eyebrow. "How did he know that would wake her up?"
"He didn't," Liz sighed, shaking her head. "He probably wanted to get any one of us, but to his luck it woke up Maka so he just couldn't resist."
The small girl in front of me continued to shiver from the contamination of the cold that still had its vicious arms wrapped around her. Her despair as well as fear causing the anger inside me to awaken from what ever hiding place it had been lurking behind.
Her nails eagerly tried to grasp at my shoulders, her trembling fingertips continuing to slip whenever she managed to place her fingers against my existence.
As if she feared she were slipping once again.
"Soul," I said apprehensively, turning round to face the blonde haired boy. "Can I take her for a bath?"
He nodded, "sure."
"Oh wait!" Liz exclaimed just before I turned away with the small trembling girl. "Soul, go get my toiletry bag."
"Your what?"
She huffed, "the white bag with the pink flowers."
Regardless he still turned away from us and wondered into his room in search of what it was Liz had ordered him to find.
Leaving the rest of us to stand silent in wait of his return and wondering what it was that Liz suddenly needed.
"Here you go," the blonde haired boy sighed, returning from the room that sat silent behind him.
She smiled, "thank you."
Quickly she opened up the bag, rummaging through the compartments of soap and hair stuff, until she found what it was she was looking for.
"Here you go!"
She held out a pink powdery ball towards both me and Maka. Maka's head still buried in my chest to be able to see what it was that Liz held out towards us.
"A bath bomb?" I questioned.
She nodded.
"Uh," I hesitated, taking the pink thing from her palm. "Thanks."
She rolled her eyes, "unwrap it and place it in the bath."
I nodded back towards her.
"Really Liz..." James sighed.
"It'll help her relax," she argued. "And they smell nice."
James reached for the fag packet in his jeans. "Whatever."
I shook my head slowly as I drifted away from the conversation, lacing my arm around the blonde haired girls back and carefully directing her to the bathroom behind us.

Steam coursed slowly throughout the air around me, rising up from the warm water that bobbed around my bare legs. The steam wavering in front of my face, and slipping from my fingers like the rails around the edge of the balcony.
The black haired boy knelt against the ground beside the tub, his sleeves rolled back whilst his hands dangled freely in the warm water below him.
Dry blood cracked from the skin on my hands, detaching itself from my shivering flesh and proceeding to wonder around the water I sat motionless in.
He smiled, "lets give this a try then?"
Taking his right hand from the tubs water, he picked up the bath bomb that sat silently on the ground beside him. The warmth from the water against his fingertips already causing it to dissolve the moment he laid his existence against it.
"Shit," he exclaimed, throwing into the water immediately.
I giggled as I watched its dusty remains stain his masculine hands bright pink.
The water quickly began to bubble as the bath bomb fizzed and rotated against the water, releasing a pink sparkling stain against the surface of the water I sat patiently in.
Kid watched it also, watching as it swiftly made its way around the tub, leaving a pink trail behind it in an attempt to satisfy the one experiencing the bath.
A smell suddenly graced my nose with its existence, a sweet smell that suddenly erased every negativity within my mind and replaced it with that smell and that smell only.
"Strawberries," I smiled. "It's pretty."
He smiled right back at me. "You're pretty."
I couldn't help but feel my cheeks flush pink for a reason other than the warmth.
A sudden vibration formed from the direction of his jeans.
I watched him quickly dry his hand on the towel beside him before fishing his phone out from his pocket.
The light from the screen reflected against his beautiful stern face, his eyes fixating themselves to the words that were eager to appear across the screen.
He frowned at the message that laid still before him.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Uh, nothing," he stammered. "Just a message about new updates or something..."
I nodded, "okay."
