There is laughter in the night, a woman's giggle and a man's deeper chuckle. They are young and deeply, passionately in love, discovering and rediscovering the heady pleasure of one another.
Holding his brand-new bride close, her soft breath cool against the drying sweat on his shoulder, Kenshin is grateful not only for Kaoru's blue eyes and her long legs that go on forever (though he is very, very appreciative of these) but also for the warmth and generosity of spirit that took in a scarred rurouni and made him her own.
