Ash's Precious Little Girl - CH XVI: ^~^ A Surprising Encounter! ^~^
"YA-HOO!" Ash chirped happily with enthusiasm. "We're finally back here!" The high-spirit trainer received several odd stares from bystanders as Ash and his group walked through the streets. "Now, I can win my final badge!"
"Take it easy, Ash." Brock chuckled at his enthusiastic friend. "We won't know until you face the Gym Leader."
"Brock is right, Ash. You need to take a chill pill. We know that you're excited for your final gym battle but you need to calm down. We can't have you be so overconfident before your match, Ash."
"I know…..but it just that I'm so pump up. I'm one badge away to enter the Sinnoh League." Ash chirped, not losing up his enthusiasm.
"It won't be an easy win, Ash." Peter spoke up, gaining the pumped up trainer's attention. "I heard Volkner is one tough customer to beat."
"Yeah….me too. I heard about that rumor and I also heard that Volkner is undefeated and has never lost a battle for years." Olivia added.
"But wait……" Dawn looks awfully confused. "How can Volkner still be undefeated when Paul and Barry earned their last badge from him?"
"Yeah I don't get that all either but for some odd reason I have a hunch that those two losers didn't officially challenged Volkner for their badge." The pony tailed trainer exclaimed her theory, which baffled Ash, Dawn, and Brock completely.
"Huh? What do you mean Paul or Barry didn't officially challenged Volkner, Olivia? I saw both of them have the Sunnyshore badge." Olivia shrugged.
"Beats me. Like I said, Ash, I just have a hunch that they didn't earn those badges."
"Unless…..they didn't have to battle Volkner." Peter interrupted, causing everyone to stare at him.
"What are you trying to say, Peter? Are you telling us that Paul and Barry didn't really earn the Sunnyshore City's Gym badges? Like they just simply walked up to the gym and Volkner gave them their badges with a fight." Dawn tried to add up her possible theory on how Paul and Barry got their last badge. The blonde nodded.
"Exactly."
"What?! Why would Volkner do that?!" Ash looks a bit insulted that a gym leader would simply give away his/her badges without a fight. It was like a slap to Ash's face. It was an insult to him to hear Volkner would do that. Ash would rather work and earn his badges than simply given to him without an effort. That wasn't his style.
"Well……he lost the passion in battling these days. There was no one in his high standards to give him a good challenge. Therefore, battling new challengers was pointless to his eyes that is." Peter explained which angered Ash even further.
"Well…….I don't blame him that much. If I was him, who was undefeated for the past couple of years and can't find a good challenger to push me to my limits, I would give up on battling, too."
"Olivia!" Ash and Dawn looks shocked to hear this.
"It was just a thought, you guys. I'm not that serious to do something like that." Olivia defended, staring at her friends. "It would take a group of crazy Primape to make me do that. I love battling. I don't care if it does get boring or not. I still love to battle other trainers. It gives me the thrill of excitement."
"Me too!" Ash agreed. "Therefore, I'm planning on changing Volkner's way by showing him that you can still have passion in a battle if I challenged him."
"Will it work?"
"Of course it will. Daddy can do anything, right Daddy?" Homura asked, staring at her daddy, hoping for a positive answer coming from him.
"Yup!" Ash chimed happily.
"I don't know…….Ash sometimes gets lucky because his dumb luck." Dawn teased.
"Hey!" The group laughed at the young trainer. Ash pouted. "It's not………"
"What? More like skill. I don't think so, Ash."
"Hey!"
"Oh relax, Ash. They are just teasing you like always." Brock assured his friend. Ash was about to thank his friend for backing him up but that changed. "Although.........they did make a good point."
"Come on, Brock. Not you, too." Ash whined childishly. Brock laughed.
"Yeah! Stop picking on poor daddy." The blonde girl said, frowning at the laughing Dawn, Olivia, and Brock.
"It's more like teasing than picking on him, Homura." Peter corrected.
"Same thing." Homura huffed.
"Well, not really………" The little girl gave Peter the evil eye look, which quickly shut up the blonde for the time being.
"Relax, Homura……." The blonde gave Olivia an evil eye look as well. The female trainer chuckled nervously. "We were just teasing…….."
"Yeah Homura……so lighten up……" Dawn replied, making Homura frowned slightly.
"No…"
The group fell silent. No one wanted to say anything else since they were quite afraid of angering the little blonde even further. They decided to lay off the teasing for awhile. The group continued to walk towards the gym's direction until Ash spoke up. "I wonder what kind of Pokemon Volkner would be using when we battle." Ash asked curiously, breaking the awkward silence.
"If you guys battle….." Olivia corrected. Ash had the urge to roll his eyes.
"There are no ifs, Olivia. We will battle once I convince him."
"Whatever you say, Ash." The young trainer rolled her eyes. "Anyways, I heard that Volkner uses electric-types in his battles." She informed.
"Great. With Ash having Grotle as a grass type, he will surely have a slight advantage since electric type moves can barely do any damage to a grass type." Brock stated.
"True." Dawn nodded in agreement.
"Well, it doesn't matter what this guy uses, daddy will beat his butt." Homura chirped happily.
"Now, now, Homura. We won't know until I face him face to face in a gym battle." The young trainer assured the little girl with a smile.
"I know…….but I'm sure you will win though, daddy." Ash chuckled. He really appreciates the little blonde's support. Before anyone could move on, they heard a feminine voice.
"I wouldn't have expected to meet my favorite protégé and his loyal companions here of all places." The female voice said in a surprising tone of voice. Ash, Dawn, and Brock recognized this voice.
The group quickly spun around and spotted a beautiful blonde woman in her early twenties and dressed in a black outfit, standing a few feet away from the group with a smile on her face. "CYNTHIA!" Ash, Dawn, and Brock chirped simultaneously, smiling at the well-known Champion. The young woman giggled at her warm welcome.
"Whoa……The Champion herself in person? This is so awesome." Olivia chirped like a fan.
Cynthia decided to greet the group. "It's nice to see you guys again. How you been?" The blonde asked warmly.
"We're fine, Cynthia. It's nice to see you, too." Ash chimed, smiling at the beautiful blonde. The young woman couldn't help but to blushed. She enjoyed seeing Ash's warm and innocent smile. Ash didn't take notice along with Brock, who was falling over heels for the blonde at Cynthia's blush but the others did. Dawn and Homura slightly glared at Cynthia since they have a feeling that the older woman has a slight crush on Ash.
"Good to hear, As………."
"Oh, my beautiful Goddess….." Brock interrupted, grasping the beautiful blonde's hands. The group sweat dropped. "How lovely to see you again. Maybe you can heal my heart if you……."
WHAM!
"ACK! Oh….my…..aching back!" Brock yelped, falling to the ground with a loud thud. The poor breeder has just suffered another painful Poison Jab from his Croagunk. The purple frog-like Pokemon let out a snicker before dragging the helpless breeder away from the group. The group chuckled awkwardly to see this.
"Well…….that was interesting……." Olivia replied awkwardly, watching Brock being dragged away.
Cynthia regained her composure as she took notice of several new faces within the group. "Oh, are you three new companions of Ash by any chance?" She asked curiously, eying Olivia, Peter, and Homura closely.
"Oh right……introductions." Olivia was drawn back to the Champion. "Yes, we are. My name is Olivia." She chirped happily. "It's nice to meet the reigning Champion." Cynthia smiled warmly at her.
"The name's Peter, Miss Cynthia. It's a great honor to meet a strong trainer like you in person." The blonde replied respectfully to the Champion. The young woman smiled warmly at Peter as well. Cynthia turned her attention to Homura, who was clanging onto Ash's arm and giving the older blonde an evil look.
Cynthia sensed a slight chill from the little girl's glare but shrugged it off. "Who are you, little one?"
"I'm not little!" Homura growled angrily. Cynthia frowned a bit. Did Cynthia say something wrong that might have offended the little girl? If so, she needed to apologize to the little blonde right away.
"I'm sorry." The young woman apologized. "I didn't mean to…….."
"Go away!"
"HOMURA!" Ash scolded at his adopted daughter. The little blonde was being really rude.
"Leave! I don't want you here." Homura said harshly to the Champion, glaring at Cynthia darkly. Cynthia's frown deepened.
"HOMURA! What's the matter with you? Apologizes to Cynthia, right now." The young trainer demanded. "That was really rude to say that to her."
"But Daddy…….." Tears threatened to fall from the little blonde's emerald green eyes. Cynthia's eyes slightly widened. Did she just hear right? Did that little girl called Ash, daddy?
"No butts, Homura."
"But Daddy!" Homura cried tearfully.
"I agreed with Ash on this one, Homura. It was really rude." Dawn replied, despite the fact that she didn't like Cynthia's company either but still…..Homura had no right to tell Cynthia to leave. That was disrespectful.
"I would sided with you, Homura but I have to side with Ash and Dawn on this one. It's really rude to badmouth your future mother like that." Olivia teased.
"OLIVIA!" Ash and Dawn yelled at the smirking girl. Cynthia blushed.
"W-What?!" The Champion was losing her composure.
"Congratulation, Cynthia. You and Ash are the proud parents of this little girl." Olivia continued to tease.
"OLIVIA! QUIT IT!" Cynthia looks away, embarrassed. Was this true? Was Ash and her a couple? Or was this a prank?
"Ok, ok, you two, lighten up." Ash and Dawn glared angrily at their friend. "I was just kidding, jeez."
"That wasn't funny, Olivia." Dawn growled angrily. Olivia rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, Olivia." Ash agreed. The young trainer turned his attention to Cynthia, who looks away, avoiding any eye contact from him. He sighed heavily. The young trainer decided to change the subject, turning his attention back to his adopted daughter. "Homura, please apologizes to Cynthia." He asked gently.
"But……." The little blonde eyed her daddy.
"Please…….."
The little blonde had no choice but complied with her daddy's wishes. She nodded sadly. Ash smiled. Homura turned her attention to Cynthia and whispered. "I'm sorry, lady."
"Oh……." Even though she appreciates the apology, there was no need to but Cynthia decided to accept it anyways. "There was no harm, little….o…I mean Homura but thank you, I accept your apology." The older blonde smiled warmly at the little blonde. Homura didn't say anything. She behaved like a good girl and remained quiet.
"Ok, with that settle……." Olivia brought everyone's undivided attention to her. She stared at the reigning Champion. "You must be wondering on why Homura called Ash. Daddy, right?" Cynthia nodded slightly.
"Yes, but I do have a slight idea on why……" The blonde woman informed. This caught everyone right off by surprise. Wow, Cynthia must be really sharp to figure it out already.
"You do?" Peter asked, looking a bit surprised.
"Yes." Cynthia stated, giggling a bit.
"Then please, do tell." Brock suddenly popped out of nowhere, scaring the crap out of everyone. Man, he recovered fast.
"Bro, you almost gave us a heart attack." The blonde trainer stated, clenching his chest.
"Yeah, Brock. Don't do that." Dawn slightly snapped at her friend. Brock rubbed the back of his head, embarrassed.
"Sorry, guys." He chuckled nervously.
"No harm done, Brock." Ash replied, smiling at his friend. Brock smiled back. The group turned their attention back to Cynthia.
The young woman took notice that the attention was back to her. She cleared her throat before explaining her intuition. "Well, it was pretty oblivious that Homura cares a lot for Ash and looks up to him as a father figure of some sort, but although, I would have thought of Ash to be more as a older brother than a father."
"No! Daddy is daddy." Homura snarled, making her point come across. Cynthia sweat dropped.
"There's no point in changing her mind, Cynthia. Once Homura makes up her mind, it's finally." Olivia giggled.
"I can see that………So….I assumed that you are here for a gym battle, Ash?" Cynthia tried to change the subject.
"Yup!"
"Well, good luck." Cynthia offered a warm smile to the young trainer. "I heard that Volkner is one of the toughest Gym Leaders out there to beat. He won't be easy to beat."
"Don't worry Cynthia, I will try my best and earn my final badge so I can participate in the Sinnoh League." Ash replied with enthusiasm. Cynthia giggled.
"I sure hope you do, Ash." She supported him. "But although, I heard that Volkner quit from battling. How are you going to convince him?"
"Hmm…….well I think of something once we find him." Ash suggested. Ash wasn't the type of guy, who would think out his plan ahead of time.
"Good luck. If someone can bring Volkner out of his slum, I would believe that it will be you, Ash." Cynthia replied. A small tint of pink appeared on her cheeks.
"Thanks, Cynthia." The young trainer accepted her compliment.
"Anytime." The blonde woman winked, causing Dawn and Homura to glare darkly at the Champion.
"Alright, let's go find our target." Olivia suggested. The group nodded in agreement. They were about to head off until Cynthia spoke up.
"Mind if I tag along a little bit?" She asked, which made the group halted their pace. They turned around to stare at her.
"Huh? Why?" Dawn asked, eying at the blonde beauty suspiciously.
"Yeah, Cynthia? What do you want to come?"
"Well, I wanted to witness my protégé's final gym battle. It can give me a heads up on your battle strategies incase one day; we get a chance to battle each other." Cynthia stated. It was a half lie and half the truth.
"Sure. Why not?" Ash chirped excitedly. "The more, the merrier, right guys?" The group nodded in agreement.
"You bet." Olivia replied, smiling.
"Thank you so much." Cynthia replied, smiling at her temporarily traveling companions.
"No problem at all, Cynthia." Ash replied, smiling at the blonde beauty. Cynthia smiled at Ash. The master and the protégé shared a moment, staring at each other. This of course, set off tensions within the group. Dawn and Homura was glaring at Cynthia while Brock stood there, looking awfully jealous.
'How does he do it?' Brock wondered, biting the lower part of his shirt.
Before the group can set off to find Volkner, an unfamiliar voice caught their attention. "Hey!"
