Ash's Precious Little Girl - CH XVIII: Splitting Up?

A/N: It has been awhile since I wrote this story. I am way behind schedule because of the whole computer issue. Anyways, I decided to move the plot forward. Several of you gave me excellent ideas and I liked them, but I decided to make Colby, Olivia, Peter, and Cynthia leave the group since they have their own business to attend. But not yet. Sorry if I disappointed everyone who wanted him or her to stay. They will probably come back later on, okay? Right then, with that settled. It is time to start the chapter! So sit back and enjoy!

Ash's Precious Little Girl - CH XVIII: Splitting Up? =(

"Staraptor, Brave Bird! Let's go!" The excited trainer commanded.

"Star, Star, Starrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!" The electrified hawk builds up his momentum by tucking in his wings and charges downward towards Colby's Pokemon.

'So one final attack huh, Ash? Well then, count me us in!' The challenger pondered with a smirk. "Charizard, use Flare Blitz!"

The orange dragon obeyed. A strong wall of flames engulfed both Charizard and Raichu's body to the max. "Now Raichu, followed it up with Thunderbolt!" Colby added.

"Rai, Rai, Chuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!" The orange mouse unleashed a high voltage of electricity on its partner as well on itself. The two attacks fused together to formed the same combination before. The preparation was complete. The flaming and electrified duo flew towards the opposing duo.

Everyone watched anxiously as the two opposing sides was going to clashed in one swift move. Different thoughts were going through everyone's mind as the clashing Pokemon was inching closer towards each other inch by inch.

'Come on Pikachu, Staraptor! You guys can do it! I believed that you can do it!' Ash encouraged.

'Charizard, Raichu. Do your best!' Colby boosted.

'Daddy, please win!' Homura begged the heavens for her daddy's victory.

'You can do it, Ash! I know you can!' Dawn believed in her crush.

'I don't I know what the outcome is going to be, but….I hope that nobody loses in the end and that it was an interesting battle to watch.' Olivia did not care who wins. As long as both side gave their all.

'This is going to be a close battle to the end. I wonder who is going to win? Ash? Or Colby?' Peter pondered on that thought as the two sides were slowly closing in on each other.

'If I was to choose on who is going to win. I would pick Ash to win.' Cynthia smiled confidently to herself.

As everyone was having their own opinions on the battle, a certain breeder was lost in his thoughts about something else. 'Oh Arceus! Did I leave the pot on again?'

BOOM!

The big erupted. The collision from the two opposing sides caused everyone to brace from impact. Debris flew everywhere. Strong gust of wind blew pass the group. A big cloud of dust covered the battlefield. No one could see anything. They just hoped that there was a winner after this.

The strong breeze subsided. The explosion settled down. The big wall of dust slowly started to fade. As the field started to clear up, everyone waited anxiously for the results. As the dust cloud vanished, everyone glanced at the field and saw four figures lying on the ground with swirls.

'A TIE!' Everyone gasped in surprise.

Brock took the tie as a signal that the battle was over "I called battle over! This match is a draw!" The breeder announced before he quickly dashed off to make sure he did not leave the steaming hot pot on again. The group was completely baffled. "Did…Uncle Brock needed to use the bathroom or something?" Homura asked in confusion.

"Think…so?" Olivia did not sure what to say after witnessing the breeder's strange behavior. "Probably so...He was in a hurry."

"Nah…" Dawn spoke up. All eyes except for Ash and Colby who was busy checking on their exhausted Pokemon fell on the giggling Coordinator. "Brock just forgot to turn off the pot that he left on."

"Oh…" There was a round of 'oh' within the group. With Brock's strange behavior solved, the group decided to go congratulated the two trainers.

"DADDY!" The hyperactive blonde-haired girl quickly spring to her daddy's side and hugged him tightly after both competitors returned their Pokemon. "You did great!"

"Thank you, Homura!" Ash chuckled, patting the little girl's head affectionately. Homura giggled before letting go.

Homura's Eevee congratulated Pikachu, too, which made the yellow mouse rubbed his head in embarrassment. Soon the others except for Brock arrived on the scene.

"The both of guys did great!" Olivia complimented.

"Thanks!" Both Ash and Colby accepted the compliment.

"That was one of impressive battles I ever seen, you two." Cynthia stated. The Champion looks impressed by the boys' performances. "I should be on my guard if I someday battle one of you."

"It will be an honor to battle you with someday, Cynthia." Colby chirped in excitement. The blonde woman nodded. "But…I'm still slightly disappointed that our battle ended up as a tie." The trainer turned to Ash. "I almost had you, Ash."

"You really did, Colby." Ash admitted. "That combination of yours was awesome."

"Yours, too."

Both trainers shook his hands in the ideal of sportsmanship. The two boys shared a smile.

"What did you expect?" Dawn spoke up. The blue haired girl moved closer to her crush and gave him a small peck on the cheek as congratulation present. Ash slightly blushed. "Ash always comes up with surprising combination."

"True." Peter nodded in agreement. "I watched his precious matches before. He's the type of a person that would do these kinds of things."

"Aw…guys. Don't give me all the credit now." Ash said, looking a bit embarrassed. "Colby did great, too."

"True." Olivia nodded in agreement. "That Flare Blitz and Thunderbolt combination was pretty impressive."

"It must have taken you a long time to master it, didn't it?" Cynthia asked politely. The young trainer nodded.

"Yup. It took awhile, but me and my Pokemon was able to pull through. We worked days and nights on that combination and we prevailed."

"It sounds similar to something Ash would do. Isn't that right, Ash?" Dawn asked in a teasing voice.

"Yup!" Everyone smiled at the enthusiasm trainer.

The group sent most of the day talking about random things to pass the time until Colby felt like it was time for to leave so he continued with his training and journey. "Sorry guys, but I have to head out."

"You're leaving?"

"Yeah…" Colby nodded a bit sadly. "I have to get back on my training. I still have a lot of things to improve on before heading off to the next gym."

"Okay! We understand." Ash spoke up. He understood the situation perfectly. People do have things in their lives to take care of. It was natural.

"Thanks. " Colby appreciated that the group understand his reason for leaving so suddenly. "Maybe once I get strong enough. Maybe we can battle again, Ash." He issued out a rematch.

"You're on!" Ash quickly accepted the rematch. It made Colby smiled happily.

"Next time, I will win!"

"In your dreams!"

The group burst into laughter until they heard a weird ring tone of some sort.

Meow, meow! Phone call, phone call! Meow, meow!

Phone call, phone call! Meow, meow! Phone call, phone call!

The guys sweat dropped. The ring tone towards them was kinda…um silly. However, the women thought it differently. They thought it was cute. It was typical for women to think that. No offense.

Meow, meow! Phone call, phone call! Meow, meow!

Phone call, phone call! Meow, meow! Phone call, phone call!

"Whose ring tone is that?" Peter asked in annoyance.

"Oh that's me." The Sinnoh Champion answered, pulling out a black cell phone from coat pocket. "I have to take this." The group nodded in understanding.

Cynthia flicked her cell open and pressed against her ear. "Yes?" She spoke in her normal and calm composure.

The others watched silently as the young woman took her call professional. It seemed like she just received another challenge for her title as 'Champion'. After several minutes went by, Cynthia ended her call and pulled away her cell.

"Well?" Olivia asked in an eager voice.

Cynthia turned her attention to the group. "I just received a challenge from the Pokemon League Committee that Flint wanted to challenge me for my title." She explained. "I have to leave."

"No! You can't leave!" Homura whined childish. "Stay big sister!"

The blonde woman smiled gently at blonde-haired girl. It appears that Homura has taken a liking into Cynthia if she calls the older woman a big sister. "Sorry Homura but I have to go." The little girl shook her head. Cynthia frowned.

"No! Stay! Wait until tomorrow!"

"Sorry to break some more bad news guys." Peter interrupted the situation that was at hand. "But I have to take my leave as well."

"Me too!" Olivia jumped in.

"What? You can't leave!" Homura cried.

"Sorry Homura, but we have other agendas." The purple haired girl apologized. She did not want to leave, but she has her own journey to worry about.

"We will meet again soon, Homura." Cynthia promised. Peter nodded in agreement.

"Count on it."

The group hoped that the little blonde girl would understand. However, Homura did not. She refused to let anyone leave. It was getting fun. "Please….stay…" Homura started to shed tears. "Please…"

Everyone except for Brock who was busy doing who knows what felt bad for the little one. Ash approached his tearful 'daughter' and kneeled down her level. "Homura…" He said gently. The blonde girl stared at her father figure with tears flowing down from her emerald snake-like eyes.

"Dad…dy…" Homura whispered sadly. Within a second, the little girl latched her arms around his neck and pressed herself against him. She cried. "Please…Daddy. Tell them to stay. Just for today…." Her sobs made the group feel a bit guilty hurting the little girl's feelings.

Ash did not know what to do or say. No matter what. Reasoning with Homura will not work. The only thing the young trainer can do is comfort her. Ash hugged the girl close and tightly. Homura continued to cry. The young father sighed softly then turned to his friends. "Well, guys?"

Cynthia, Olivia, Peter, and Colby gave each other uncertain glances before turning to Ash. "I'm not sure." The Champion said, looking uncertain. "I really have to…"

"Can't you wait until tomorrow?" Dawn pleaded. The leaving group thought for a moment. "Do it for Homura."

"Well…I guess could wait until tomorrow." Olivia finally gave in when she continued to see Homura still crying. Maybe staying will cheer her up.

"I guess staying here for today won't hurt. I'm not in such hurry." Peter agreed to stay as well.

"Really? We don't want to hinder your…"

The blonde trainer waved Ash off. "It's okay."

"I might as well stay too since my Pokemon need some rest." Colby spoke. "I don't mind at all. You guys are fun to hang out with."

Three out of four agreed to stay behind for one more day since they felt that one day would not hurt them. This made Homura a little bit happier. All what is left was Cynthia's answer. All eyes fell on the Champion. Their gaze made her feel a little bit uncomfortable. She always hated to be the one in the center of attention. "Well…Miss Cynthia? What's it going to be?" Olivia asked in an eager voice.

The blonde woman mentally sighed. What can she do? She had a job to do and yet they wanted her to stay for Homura's sake. This was getting a little bit frustrating. "I…"

"Please…big sister…" Homura begged. The little girl was giving her the puppy-eye look.

The Champion could not resist that look. The little one looks so cute. She was going to regret not acting professional. However, at same time, this might give her a chance to bond with her protégé. The thought of that made her cheeks slightly red, but she quickly shook off that thought. Cynthia regained her composure and gave the little girl a warm smile. "Su…"

Meow, meow! Phone call, phone call! Meow, meow!

Phone call, phone call! Meow, meow! Phone call, phone call!

Before Cynthia could give the group her answer, the familiar ring tone of hers set off.

Meow, meow! Phone call, phone call! Meow, meow!

Phone call, phone call! Meow, meow! Phone call, phone call!

The Champion quickly pulls out her cell and answers it. "Yes?" There was an old, husky voice from the other side of line speaking. This put a small smile to Cynthia. "No, Mr. Goodshow. I didn't leave yet."

Ash gasped in surprise to hear Cynthia talking to the Chairman of the Pokemon League. He decided not to interrupt Cynthia. It would be rude if he did.

"I'm staying at Sunnyshore City for one more day. Can you please reschedule the challenge for tomorrow, Chairman?" She asked in a calm and polite manner. The Chairman questioned her motives. The Champion turned her attention to Homura who was staring at her with tears flowing down her face. Cynthia smiled. "Because I promise someone that I did." Homura looks pleased.

After a few minutes of trying to convince Mr. Goodshow to reschedule her battle with Flint, the old man gave in and gave her his approval. "Thank you, Chairman." Cynthia thanked before hanging up. She turned to the group. "Guess I'm staying."

"YAY!" Homura chirped in excitement. The little girl tossed away her little act.

"…"

"…"

"…"

"…"

"…"

"…"

"…"

"Wait a minute…" Olivia glared at the little girl with her arms crossed. "Were you faking this whole time?"

"Yup!"

Everyone fell to the ground, anime-style. They could not believe it. They were trick by her little act. "I cannot believe you trick us by pretending to cry." Peter said in disbelief. "That's not right at all, man."

"Well too bad." Homura poked her tongue out childish. "You all promised to stay and you better keep that promise."

The tricked party groaned softly. Ash scolded at his daughter for lying, but she gave him the puppy-eye look which made him reconsidered not punishing her. "So…what are we going to do now since we all know that everyone is going to stay here?" Colby asked no one in particular.

The group shrugged. "We might as well…Hey? Where's Brock?" Ash asked.

Everyone glanced around to see no sign of the breeder anywhere. Where did he go? Suddenly, the gang heard a loud and familiar voice off from the distant. "CROAGUNK, NOOOOOOO!" WHAM! "AACKKK!"

Oh Brock. It appears that the group knew where he was now. The gang headed off to the Pokemon Center to go fetch and rescue their disoriented friend from the clutches of the breeder's Pokemon.

A/N: Poor Brock. When will he learn? The whole ring tone scene involving Cynthia and the gang was funny and cute, wasn't it? Well, the battle between Ash and Colby ended up as a draw since several reviewers requested for it. The next few chapters will be focusing on Homura's thoughts around each member of the group. That is all for now. Please R & R! Thank you ^_^ Until next time, folks!
