Halena, this story has no pairings. This is a no pairing story and I have no plan to make it that way. Why doesn't Zuma want to be found, because he knew what happened when Marshall ran away, they tried to make him feel better, but Zuma won't be convinced by what he knows is coming. Who will find him first, now that is for me to know and you to find out! But I can tell you Everest is not in this story. ;)
On to chapter 3!
RIP.(no, not R.I.P)
Zuma skidded to a stop as all his things spilled out of the fishing net due to a snag from a branch. He groaned. "Just my luck. What am I gonna cawwy it all in now?" Zuma looked around but nothing spiked his interest. "Although, this wouldn't be such a bad place for a pewmanent home, I've wun fow awhile."
Zuma nodded to himself. "Pewfect." Zuma began working on another house, in the bushes.
Well, by now Skye and Rocky had ditched their vehicles, and followed Zuma's salty-ocean scent.
Rocky stopped and remembered something. "Hey guys we picked up his scent. Meet us at the forest," Rocky said, then turned off the channel. He followed Zuma's scent within shouting distance of the water pup.
But... then he lost it. Rocky stomped his paw. "Rats!" He shouted.
"Rocky! Skye!" Chase called, jumping up on a log.
"You followed Zuma's scent and we followed yours!" Marshall eagerly relayed as he ran to catch up. He tripped over the log and rolled into a tree a few yards past Rocky and Skye. "Ow..."
The rest of the pups laughed a little.
"Let's keep going!" Rubble said.
"We lost the scent." Skye looked at where they had been going.
Chase silently picked up the scent and found a very light one that Rocky could not pick up.
The rest of the pups followed him for a distance before they all bumped into him.
The scent was very strong here...
Zuma gasped inwardly and curled up tighter, waiting for the obviously inevitable.
Skye, with trained keen eyes, spoted a dot of orange from inside a bush, and an orange thread hanging from the bush next to that,
"Zuma?" Skye squinted to see further inside the first bush.
Amber eyes looked back at her. Zuma knew what his friends wanted him to do, and what he wanted to do. But his desires kept him from doing what they wanted him to do, and his conscious prevented him from doing what he wanted to do. So he simply did nothing, and sat still.
Well, now they've found Zuma - partially. Thank ya'll for your support, mostly reviews. :) One more chapter to go.
