Story Start
It was morning in Tokyo. People were out walking along the streets and the roads were busy.
Our story starts in the slums. In an old abandoned building.
A young woman got up, waking from a deep sleep as she took off her ratty old blanket.
She looked to be around 18 years old. She had asian skin with blue eyes and neck length bright-orange hair. She wore an old t-shirt, a well worn pink duster, orange jeans and blue worn sneakers.
Her name is Honoka.
Author notes: She looks like Honoka from the Love Live anime.
"That was a cold night." The young girl whispered as she looked across the street to a billboard.
It displayed a masked woman. "Citizens, we have been asleep for too long. We must wake up. The Undead are among us."
Honoka started packing her blanket into her well worn rucksack, knowing that she'd have to move tonight.
The billboard changed to a blonde haired woman in a suit. "The masked nutjob you just saw claims to represent a terrorist group called 'Muse'. This group has claimed responsibility for over a hundred acts of terror over the last decade. I for one and not for the death penalty. So there is only one solution, illegally shoot the lady!"
Honoka walked out of the house and started down the street.
"Honoka!" a voice shouted.
She started running.
Honoka had only been in this city for a week and had been very carful not to tell anyone her name.
Whenever people knew her name, bad things happened.
Suddenly, it happened.
The clear blue water in a nearby faucet turned to crimson-red blood.
The clouds started moving faster as the sky shifted to blood crimson.
Pitch-black rocks exploded from the ground.
The road bent out of place as several pieces of buildings ripped themselves out and floated into the air.
People erupted into ash that was blown away, leaving ghost like apparitions
Lampposts bent and parts of the ground cracked, floating away, revealing rivers of black blood.
"It's too late." a voice said.
Honoka looked back and did a classic double take.
Standing about five feet away was a woman the same age as her. She had asian skin, blonde hair that was pulled into a high ponytail and blue eyes. She wore a white shirt and a blue pleated skirt. BLack boots reached up to her knees and blue fingerless gloves reached up to her elbows.
A bit of a backstory:
Honoka had no memory of her life before the age of seven. Her fist memory was waking up in the orphanage.
She had been told that she had just recovered from meningitis and it had taken her memory from her.
For the next two years, Honoka had lived an okay life. She had friends and was on good terms with the orphanage staff.
Then, two years after she had arrived, everything had changed.
She had been pulled into a pocket dimension called Limbo where everything looked as it did now. Her interaction with the real world was very limited and she had no way to interact with people.
Then the matron had showed up and transformed into a monster.
That was the day her whole life had changed.
Flash back:
A nine year old Honoka was being held against the wall by the monster that the matron had transformed into. "Who's going to help you now, Honoka?!" she hissed. "No one loves you. Even your parents abandoned you!"
Through the pain, Honoka started to hear a voice.
"So long as you remain true to yourself, you will have a great power, my daughter."
Honoka's waist released a massive blast of bright-silver light that hurled the monster backwards, leaving Honoka to drop to the floor. The young nine year old looked down at her waist.
[KUUGA DRIVER!]
Around Honoka's waist was a bright-silver belt with a pitch-black rectangle-shaped buckle. At the top of the buckle was a slot, behind which was a button. In the center of the buckle was a circle-shaped light that was currently off.
This is the Kuuga Driver.
Honoka held out her right hand and a dagger materlized. It had a triangle-shaped dark-bronze blade with the word 'ACTIVE' engraved into the side of it in dark-red letters. The guard was a pitch-black line along with a pitch-black handle.
This is the Active Tribal Dagger.
Honoka slammed it into her driver's slot.
[HENSHIN DAGGER!]
The driver's light turned bright-red.
This is the Active Setting.
She placed the back of her left fist onto her driver's slot. Raised her right hand and waved it from left to right before slamming it down on her left fist, causing it to push down on her driver's button.
[TRANSLATE!]
Honoka's body was coated in pitch-black light. She aged from a nine year old to a woman in her early twenties in an eye blink. The light turned into a pitch-black leather jumpsuit with no seams. It covered everything from the neck down with attached combat gloves and boots, both pitch-black. Her head was now coated by a pitch-black helmet with circle-shaped pitch-black visors. Around each wrist and ankle was a bright-silver metal band with a bright-bronze circle-shaped coin in the outside of them.
Honoka had transformed into Kamen Rider Symbol, Basic Translation.
[SYMBOL ACTIVE!]
Bright-red armor grew from the top, sides, front and back of her boots. Bright-red armor appeared on the front of her lower legs with two pure-white vertical lines cutting through it. Dark-gray circle-shaped armor appeared from the front of her knees. The sides of her suit turned bright-red.
Her chest grew a bright-red breastplate. It left her stomach exposed and in the center of it was a bright-bronze coin. Two vertical white lines went up from the bottom of the breastplate, circled around the coin and up to the top of the armor. She wore bright-red shoulder pauldrons with bright-gray outlines, they curved downwards. The outside of her arms were now bright-red. Her lower arms turned bright-red and along the outside of them was bright-red armor with pure-white outlines. Bright-red armor coated the back of her hands.
Her helmet had turned bright-red. The visors were now dark-blue. In the center of her helmet's forehead was a bright-bronze coin. Coming from which were two bright-bronze antenna that looked like a curvy V. Two pure-white lines came from the coin, but these were painted onto the helmet and lead back over it. Her mouthguard looked like a bright-gray kite shield.
On her back a sword appeared. It's blade was colored silver and was single edge with the back of it being dark-red. The blade was straight for four feet before the sharp side curved into a tip over the last half foot. The guard was colored bright-red with no cross guard while the handle was dark-black.
She was now Kamen Rider Symbol, Active Translation. She was armed with the Active Sword.
Honoka could feel it. The armor and suit were now her skin, the gloves her hands, the boots her feet, the helmet was her head and the visors were merged with her eyes.
[LET'S GO!]
"Die!" The monster roared as it shot forwards.
Symbol tapped down on her dagger.
[BRONZE ACTIVE CHARGE!]
She crossed her arms in front of herself, taking the punch. The impact caused a visible shockwave, but the Kamen Rider was unmoved. She uncrossed her arms, coated her right fist in dark-red energy and decked the monster in the face, throwing it backwards.
The monster slammed into a wall and looked up, just in time to get a knee to the face. Symbol landed on the ground and cuffed the monster around the head with her left fist, dazing it before she leapt backwards.
Symbol pushed down on her driver's button with her right hand.
[ACTIVE FINISHER!]
Then she pushed down on the Active Tribal Dagger with that same hand.
[LET'S GO!]
She placed her left leg forward as bright-red energy exploded around it. "RIDER KICK!" She leapt into the air, tucked in her right boot and came down with a diving kick. The monster looked up, just in time for the boot to impact its stomach, throwing it backwards where it exploded.
Battle ended!
Symbol removed the Tribal Dagger from the Kuuga Driver and sent it back into her storage dimension before tapping her driver's button. Her armor was pulled back into her body before her body shifted back into Honoka.
