Chapter 1

DESPERATE MEASURES

Casey couldn't believe that she was really here, she couldn't believe that she was on a reality show trying to find love. Especially, she couldn't believe that her friends signed her up for LOVE IS BLIND, against her better judgement, but they said they had to resort to desperate measures because she had gone years without anyone. Casey didn't think that it would be a very good idea to get to know someone, without seeing their face first, not that she was the kind of person to judge someone based on looks. She would just prefer to be on a reality show where she could see the person she's connecting with. But she didn't have any choice now, she's on the show now and awaiting the guy that she's going to talk to in the room.

Casey: after my last relationship, I really gave up on love and threw myself into work. I pushed away any potential suitor out of fear of being hurt again. Every other aspect of my life is going great except my love life….. And now I think it's time to put myself out there again, it's time for me to find my soul mate.

Josie: I have always been a hopeless romantic (she smiles) I'm hoping that I find my soul mate here, someone I can spend the rest of my life with.

Penelope: I'm just here to have fun (smiles)

Gillian: I would never do something like this ever! But over the years I realize that I have to step out of my comfort zone and hey who knows, I might get a great guy out of it.

Greenlee: I'm always pushing the boundaries, I'm up for anything as long as it's fun and exciting. I live my life day by day and never plan anything out, life is more fun that way. I do believe in true love, this might be a challenge for me though because I'm so used to setting my eyes on someone and then getting them. This is a new one for me, but I'm very excited!

Leo: my motto is life is too short, so you mind as well enjoy while you can. I know it's a little cheesy, but it doesn't take away from the fact that it's true.

Derek: I'm just here to have fun and whatever happens, happens.

Cal: I always saw this show on my TV screen and see people tell bold face lies. Then everyone is surprised when the relationship goes to shit, the concept is good enough, but you need more of a foundation to back that. I look forward to seeing who I match up with (laughs) I'm not so good in the relationship side of things.

Casey: I'm up first, and I'm so nervous, I would never do something like this in a million years. Being here and doing this is really taking me out of my comfort zone (exhales) I'm kinda staring to panic because of it.

The camera cuts to Casey Standing in front of the door, she exhales and then opens the door. She sits down and pours a cup of water.

Derek:(Distorted voice comes from the other side of the wall) hey, you are finally here, good. So, tell me about yourself.

Casey: ( distorted voice) oh my god! What's up with your voice?

Derek:(voice changer) have you not seen the show in recent years?

Casey: (voice changer) I don't really like watching TV.

Derek: (voice changer) what?! How can you not like watching TV?

Casey: (voice changer) it's not good to watch TV all day.

Derek: (voice changer) ugh! Oh my god! You're one of those (rolls his eyes)

Casey: (voice changer) one of those? What does that mean (Casey says in a raised irritated tone.)

Derek: (voice changer) the kind of girl who has fun reading books and doing homework.

Casey: (voice changer) so! What's wrong with that?!

Derek: (voice changer) you need to loosen up.

Casey: (voice changer) you sound like my ex ( she says sadly)

Derek: (voice changer) what happened?

Casey: (voice changer) it's really hard to talk about it, I don't really feel comfortable opening up….especially on tv to a stranger.

Derek: (voice changer) I get that, I never open up to anyone. It's hard for me.

Casey: (voice changer)the reason why it's so hard for me is because so many people have taken advantage of me. So many people have used me and trampled on my heart, and now I'm just over it.

Derek: (voice changer) you shouldn't let a bunch of jerks who don't know what they had change you. Don't lose who you are or let those bad experiences change you. Or I could be wrong, you could be the problem (he laughs)

Casey laughs

Derek: (voice changer) just think about it like this, those guys did you a favor, they were bad for you and now that you're not with them, you can find someone better.

Casey:(voice changer) I never thought about it like that.

Derek:(voice changer) well, you should

Casey: (voice changer) have you ever had your heart broken?

Derek: (voice changer) wow! We're starting with the heavy stuff today.

Casey:(voice changer) well, that is the point of this show and being here, right?

Derek: (voice changer) I guess, but it's just hard for me.

Casey: (voice changer) ok, well, what are you into?

Derek: (voice changer) I like fast food, rock music, scary movies, fast cars and family is very important to me.

Casey:(voice changer) me too! I love my family, even though they drive me crazy sometimes…. I wouldn't trade them for anyone else in the world.

Derek: (voice changer) my youngest sister is my biggest fan.

Casey: (voice changer) my sister is soo amazing.

They both laugh

Casey: (voice changer) well, I really enjoyed talking to you in the pod.

Derek: (voice changer) me too.

Casey (talking to the camera) his not usually my type, but there was an instant connection between us.

Derek: (talking to the camera) it started off rough at first but I knew the second she laughed that I got her to loosen up. That's when we really started to connected.

The family came together to watch Casey on LOVE IS BLIND, they had no idea that they would see Derek on it too and they definitely didn't expect them to choose each other. Lizzie sat there with her mouth open.

Marti: (rolls her eyes) close your mouth, what is it?

Lizzie: i knew it!

Marti: please, that was sooo obvious.

Edwin: wow, we were right.

Nora: what?!

George: I can't believe this.

Marti: seriously?! Derek was so obvious about his feelings towards Casey. That and he told me.

Everyone but Martí: what?! When?!

Marti: when she first got here, duh. Derek tells me everything, but that's like walking into the rain and walking up to someone and telling them it's raining.
