Zak was able to get through most of the day avoiding Wadi as he collected his teachers' signatures. He even ran as soon as the bell released him from school. Wadi was close behind as she tried to catch him so he'd help her find the Hand. She even tried to trip him using her yoyo to steal his belt. Zak barely heard the people laughing at the spectacle. He also didn't realize how respect was rising for him for putting up with the eccentric new girl. After people started leaving he realized she hadn't taken a bus, so he'd be stuck with her till Tony showed. But when the only things in the courtyard are tables that are easy to jump over and cheerleaders, let's just say the people who watched the cheerleaders got extra entertainment.
He was so busy that when Tony finally pulled up, he pulled out his camera and recorded the little scene. For his uncles' viewing pleasure. He couldn't help but let out a large toothy smile. It took Zak about three minutes to realize Tony was there. His face was red because he was out of breath. Red because he was mad Tony didn't say he was there. And even redder because he was being chased by a girl. He sprinted to the taxi, jumping in through the open window.
"Drive! Drive! Drive!" he said fumbling with his seatbelt as Wadi ran up to the taxi.
"But your girlfriend wants to say something."
Zak turned an even deeper shade of red.
"Just floor it!"
Tony smiled and looked at Wadi.
"Hello young lady."
Zak put his head down.
"Hello. Zak you need to help me find it."
"I don't know where it is."
"Besides, I need to take Zak-ster home. Before his psychopathic killer relatives hunt me down ruthlessly and mercilessly," Tony said with an evil grin. With that he did floor it, right into the street. Zak's face went back to normal quickly with the wind from the open window smacking his face. Finally Zak rolled up his window.
"Really Tony?"
"Really what Zak-inator?"
"The camera."
"Oh, you saw that," he said averting his eyes more onto the road.
"Yeah. Please tell me you aren't going to show my uncles."
"Okay, but what I say and do are two different things entirely," he said with an evil grin. Zak gave him a playful punch. Tony laughed some more as he tried to get Zak to say he had Wadi as a girlfriend.
"I'm not dating I'm single!" yelled Zak.
"Are too. You were playing catch me with your girlfriend."
"I am not dating Wadi!"
"Are too!"
"Are not!"
"Are too!"
"Are not!"
"Are too!"
"Are not!"
"Are not!"
"Yes. Now it seems you understand I'm not dating Wadi," Zak smiled. Tony had used that trick way too many times for him to fall for it.
"Yeah, cause you're dating a cheerleader."
"What!"
"Why else would you be circling them in order to escape another girl?"
"Man shut up!"
Tony laughed as they pulled up to the house. Zak stepped out feeling really good. Fairly calm and relaxed. He saw that Doyle and Van Rook were ready. He was glad he packed earlier in the morning. He heard Tony leaving as he got a call to pick someone up in the downtown area. Zak walked up to them.
"Ready mini man?" asked Doyle.
"Is Munya still working for Argost?" he said in a knowing tone.
"Oh yeah," said Doyle giving him a high five.
"Well then get in the jet, time is money and money is something I don't want to waste!" yelled Van Rook. Zak went to his neck and twisted the chain around his index finger. It was adventure like this that made him reach for it. Though he never said it aloud, it comforted him knowing that he wasn't hated by his mother. But that tragedy separated them. He wondered deep down if she was still alive. And if she was, would she accept what we was becoming? Probably not.
He jumped into the back of the jet. It could sit four people but it usually only had two. Rook and Doyle. Zak's seat was behind Van Rook. They placed their suitcases on the empty seat. Zak waited patiently for them to be in the air so they could get to their destination. Zak had never been to the Himalayans. He had heard a lot about them from his uncles but this would be the first time experiencing it. He felt great. But, even though his uncle were in front of him. He couldn't shake an uncomfortable feeling. It was in his head. Like someone or something was trying to talk to him.
He couldn't make out the words. But he could hear one thing very clearly. The hissing of snakes. And there was a lot more than one. Even as they were in the air, Zak felt as if he were surrounded by hissing snakes. He stayed quiet. Hearing things was always a bad omen. He looked outside and saw something many people had never seen. A cluster of astro-jellyfish. Zak couldn't help but stare at them. In their own sick way, they were beautiful. But Zak jumped when he noticed a few, were glowing a yellow orange color.
That's all for now please review!
