A/N: Sorry for the wait, drama ... lots of drama
A month later and things we finally starting to look up, the kids had finally settled in at their dads house, not saying they liked it there or anything, but it was tolerable. As for Johanna, she had stopped self harming, and Violet could not have been happier with this news. Beatrice had let the children get a dog, it was almost like they Baudelaire parents were having a competition for Violet, Klaus and Sunny's affection, but really the winners were the children.
Bertie had given in to Violets nagging and gotten an internet connection for the apartment, they had a new pet, later bedtime, little things that just made life that bit sweeter. Things weren't so bad for them after all, especially Violet, or so they thought.
It was coming up to the end of the school year, and Violet and Jo spent a lot of their class time writing notes, it wasnt like they were going to mis anything, the exams were over for the year, and most of the courses finished. Violet used her notebook for these notes, they had it on the table between them, so they didn't have to obviously pass notes under their teachers' noses.
On the second last day of school, Violets notebook went missing. She searched everywhere for it, her bag, her locker, all the classrooms she had been in. Even under the stairs where all the lost and found books were put. One place she hadn't looked however, was the backpack of the school bully, Ashley. Ashley stood at her popular table with all the other brain-dead twits who cared about nothing more than how pretty they looked, how many boys drooled after them and of course how many people thought they worshipped them.
Ashley was Violets real life Regina George, but unfortunately the bus incident had not happened yet. The crowd around the table was starting to grow, and students were laughing and whispering about something that Ashley was reading from. No it couldnt be. Violet ran towards the table and squeezed past the gang of students who seemed to be in stitches. Her and Johanna's worst nightmare had come true. Their private notes were being read out to the entire cafeteria.
"I should be over him... but like he's just so perfect.." Ashley was reading a loud, an evil smirk on her face. Violet made an attempt to snatch back the notebook, grasping at her secrets, but to no avail, Ashley tried to push her away and they got into a sort of cat fight, that attracted the attention of Mrs Poe, who made her way over to separate the girls.
"Stop this at once girls!" she screeched and the entire room fell silent. Everyone waited tensly for what would be said next, it was obvious to Violet that Ashley was already scheming a way out of getting in trouble, like she always did. Her father was super rich and made a huge donation to the school last year, she could do no wrong in the eyes of the faculty. To put it quite frankly, they worshipped the ground she walked on, as any teacher who had tried to stand up to the 15 year old version of Amanda Priestly, was pulled aside by the principal Mr Albright, and reminded of the "fantastic help" the Vander Swan family had been to the school recently.
This was not going to end well, for Violet or Joanna anyway.
A/N: Amanda Priestly is the main character in the Devil Wears Prada, and head bitch at Runway Magazine. For those of you who havent seen the movie or read the book :)
