Chapter 20: Flattery

Sebastian banged on the door as hard as he could, but it wouldn't budge. And every time he tried to get the thermostat to go down, it just went higher. He just knew he would die. The steam was becoming too much to handle.

"It can't end like this!" he yelled as he continued to bang on the door. "HELP!"

KBKBKBKBKBKB

"I'm sorry what did you just say?" Kurt asked. Blaine walked over to him and grabbed his hands.

"I asked you to marry me." he said shakily. Kurt pulled away gently. He couldn't do this right now. Blaine was out of his mind if he thought that he would marry him. It was a beautiful gesture, but he just couldn't say yes.

"I'm sorry Blaine, but the answer is no." he said with sad eyes. Blaine looked like a lost puppy. Why would Kurt say no? Didn't he love Blaine as much as he loved him? Or was it truly over?

"I-I but, why? We're having a child together. This is how this should work. We can do this." He said proudly. Kurt put his hands up to his face.

"Don't you get it? The whole cheating thing messed us up! If it wasn't for you we wouldn't be in this mess. My god Blaine. And what hurts the most is that I would've said yes, if it wasn't for the whole Eli thing. I just can't take that." He said as he began to go upstairs. His family had already left to give the boys some privacy.

"I know I made a mistake, but we can work this out. I know we can." Blaine said as he followed Kurt to his room. Kurt sat on his bed and motioned for Blaine to follow. Blaine sat down on the bed silently.

"Some things you just can't fix Blaine. I will let you be a part of this child's life. You're the father too." Kurt said as he rubbed Blaine's back.

"But what if I want to try? I'll give up Eli to be with you." he said firmly. Kurt marveled at that sentiment. This could...no it wouldn't be right, even if it was with Eli.

"Don't do that. Look no one deserves to get their heart broken, including Eli. As much as I'd love to rub his face in this, this needs to stay as secret. If J caught a hold of this..." Blaine grabbed Kurt's sort of chubby hands.

"I'll travel to the ends of the earth to find 'J' and rip them apart. No one hurts my unborn child or the man that I love." Blaine's eyes grew wide at what he just said. Kurt was appalled at his ex's sudden outburst.

"What?" he asked.

SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Sebastian was gasping for air. The steam was becoming too thick. Was 'J' that sick and twisted? Oh course they were, they try to run Kurt over and poison Finn. Plus they killed Jesse. This person was out for blood and apparently Sebastian's was next on the line. He got up and started banging against the door again.

"There has got to be another way out of here. I am not dying tonight!" he yelled. He pushed against the door again. When he looked out the little window he saw some writing.

'A nice steam session should cool you down'

Sebastian's eyes started to tear up. Maybe he had reached his end. If someone saved him, he would change his ways.

Blaine just looked at the ground. He did still love Kurt, he would never deny that. But was Kurt ready to hear it again? By the shocked look on his face, it appears that he wasn't.

"I-I don't know what to say. I mean I know you do, but w-wow." Kurt got up and walked around his room.

"Yes, I do. I love you with all my heart. And I know that what I've done will never sit right with you..."

"You're right. But I suppose deep down I still love you too. And with our child growing inside of me, it sets off a round of emotions. I just don't think that I'm ready to go back into a relationship with you. Not yet. I need to see where things stand with Aiden." Kurt said.

Deep down Blaine knew nothing would change. But there was still hope, as long as Aiden didn't return the feelings. And man did Blaine hope he didn't. Even if it was a little selfish of him.

"I completely understand. I hope that someday, we can get past this. I really do love you Kurt." Blaine said and put his hand on Kurt's belly. "And our child." Kurt felt himself brighten up at that.

"Maybe someday I'll be able to say the same." Kurt smiled. Just when Blaine was about to close the gap between them Finn burst into the room.

"Guys you have to see this!" He yelled. Kurt and Blaine just stared at each other.

SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Sebastian felt light headed. He felt like he was slowly slipping away. He pounded weakly on the door one last time. All of a sudden it was thrust open and he was pulled out immediately.

"Jesus Bas, what the hell happened?" Karofsky said as he pulled the weakened boy out into the hallway. The rest of the boys arrived shortly after.

"I-I don't know. I c-can't remember." Sebastian said in-between breaths. Kurt looked around and saw the rapidly fading message.

"I can think of something." he said as he pointed to the wall. Everyone gasped at the message.

"Well we also got a text too. Another reason why we're here." Puck said. Sebastian, a little bit more centered, grabbed the phone.

" 'It would appear that a deceiver is about to vanish into thin air... or should I say steam? J.' Great so they're trying to kill me too?" Sebastian asked.

"Whoever this is; is out to get all of us. Maybe not all at the same time, but pretty damn near close." Finn said.

After getting checked out by some paramedics, Sebastian was clear to go. The gang sat in his hospital room and talked. No one was really sure what was happening, but they needed to find out.

"What do we do?" Blaine asked.

"For now we just continue trying to figure the clues out and go from there. It's not much we can do." Puck said. Rory raised his hand like a young school boy.

"Actually and Sam are working on something." He said. Sam nodded his head in agreement.

"Really? Care to share?" Kurt asked.

"Not just yet. We don't really have anything solid yet, but we're working on it." Sam replied.

"We are too." Dave spoke up. "Sebastian and I have some information that we're not quite sure on yet, but we're gonna continue to work on it. I feel that we may have found out who 'J' really is."

"I already know who it is." Kurt mumbled.

"Okay then we you guys find something out let us all know." Blaine said. They all nodded their heads and went their separate ways.

AEAEAEAEAEAEAEAEAEAE

Eli burst through the door to the lair. He grabbed his hair and slammed some books across the floor. He was pissed. He didn't know if he wanted Sebastian to die or to feel threatened. But it didn't work out as planned.

"Whoa, what's with the attitude?" Aiden said as he rounded the corner.

"I don't know. I believe that the threat was received, but not taken seriously." Eli said as he sat down. Aiden smirked and went to get them something to drink.

"What? Did you want Sebastian to die?" Aiden said. Eli shook his head.

"No, maybe, I don't know. I guess I was expecting a different outcome. I'm spazzing out, don't worry." Eli laughed.

"That's good. Don't need you going bat shit." Aiden chuckled.

"Very funny. What's next on the agenda? Did 'J' need anything else done?" Eli asked excitedly.

"Calm down champ, haven't gotten anything yet."

"Good, that means that I get to play with Kurt some more." Eli smiled wickedly. Aiden raised an eyebrow. He thought that since Eli had Blaine that messing with Kurt over that was over. Guess not.

"I thought you were finished messing with him?" Aiden said.

"No, not just yet. I don't believe his and Blaine's connection is as dead as I thought it was. Gonna have to fix that." Aiden got up and walked to the window. He was starting to think that maybe Eli was having a bit too much fun.

"Look haven't you done a bit too much to them already?" he asked.

"Now wait just a minute; don't tell me you're actually having feelings for him now are you? Are you growing to conscience?" Eli asked angrily.

"No, I'm just saying that they're over. Leave it at that. The boss has specific instructions for the boys. Let's stick to them. No lollygagging." Aiden said. Eli huffed and sat back down.

"Fine. Just keep Kurt away from Blaine. Do whatever it takes." Eli said and left.

"Man that boy has issues. If he only knew that Kurt and Blaine's connection was a lot stronger than he thought." Aiden smiled to himself as he looked at his phone. "Oh what a tangled web we weave, when we first practice to deceive." He looked at a picture of all the boys, including Eli. He looked between Eli and Kurt's photos and smiled.

"But when we've practiced for a while, how vastly we improve our style."

A/N: Ooh Aiden what's up your sleeve? Why didn't you tell Eli about Kurt's pregnancy? Seems like he has a secret too. And thank heavens Sebastian survived.

I do plan on ending the story soon. Mainly because I want to start fresh with the boys. That basically means that since Klaine was a major part of the story that in the SEQUEL EVERYONE will have a story line. And I do mean EVERYONE. Yeah I know it's been while don't hate me. Been working on a lot of other projects. But I do plan on rearranging the chapters, because they are messed up and out of order. But Please continue reading and review.
