Chapter-17

A drowsy Ianto awaken the next morning to find he was still alone, he didn't remember fallen asleep, just the constant ticking of the alarm clock on the nightstand and the gnawing fear of losing his family. Since their marriage he and Jack never slept apart unless some unexpected crisis occurred, They had promise each other to never let a spat or disagreement fester, Lying in bed .Ianto reach out to Jack telepathic getting nothing, retrieving his phone from the bedside table he dial Jack mobile only to get his voice mail. Ianto was scare beyond words, had his secret of Liam involvement with Asil/Lisa push Jack to his Limit?

After Ianto showered and dressed, He made coffee before starting his day in the hub. As the aroma of freshly perk coffee filled the underground home, Ianto opening the connecting door to Jack bunker only to find the bed hadn't been slept in.

'' Where are you Jack'' ,ianto whispered, as the doorbell to their home buzz, He dread what the day would bring remembering Owen and Gwen words from the previous night. Placing his cup of hot coffee on the table, he opens the door to find Owen.

Seeing Ianto. Owen scoffed ''bloody hell tea-boy, you look like hell,'', then again in your situation it's understandable.

Ianto wasn't in the mood for this, but knew it couldn't be avoided as Owen push pass him going to the kitchen pouring himself a cup of coffee, While Ianto followed.

''Owen could we please not do this now'' Ianto asked.

''No we are going to do this now and you're going to sit and listen, you had your say, now it's my turn, so sit down and listen'' Owen snapped.

Ianto sighed as he took his seat at the kitchen table wrapping his hand around his coffee filled mug, while once again expressing how remorseful he was.

Owen sigh'' bloody hell tea-boy will you stop it'', you apologize so stop, Yes I'm mad, no I'm piss, but not for what you might think, You should know by now I don't give a rat arse what other think, my work speak for itself. I'm piss that if you couldn't talk to Jack that you didn't come talk to me, I thought after all we have been through when Jack left, in spite of my snarky comments we had become close, I had started to think of you as the snotty nose annoying little brother I never had. Which I will deny if repeated,

As tears fill Ianto eyes he thanks Owen. This wasn't what he has expected .While they enjoyed their coffee, Ianto open up to Owen revealing everything he had told Jack .Ianto decided to tell Owen about being telepathic, explaining that his ability was limited and mainly link to Jack. They share a special bond and could communicate between each other, feeling each other true emotions rather than what's was being portrayed on the surface,

Ianto took a sip of his coffee before continuing, But with William it was different, He could read William since their uni days, but he need to be in contact with him .Ianto didn't have to be empathic to know what Owen was thinking, He assure Owen he could not or ever tried to read him or his other teammates, it was Jack, only Jack.

"Ianto I know you were tested at Torchwood one, but I still need to test you, do anyone know of your ability beside Jack and obvious William" Owen inquired.

"Tosh, only by accident, "Ianto replied. Owen I don't want Gwen to know. It's no secret she has a lot of animosity toward me regarding Jack and this thing with William involving Rhys just made it worse...

Owen nodded in agreement, before asking Ianto a question that had been bugging the hell out of him since Ianto revelation ''.Ianto why did you call her Lisa and your girlfriend''.

Owen it started as a game while we were at uni, I would tease her by reversing her name, It got to the point she like it better than Asil,and after Canary Wharf list Asil as one of the decease she insist that she be call Lisa,

Ianto took another sip of his coffee before continue, Owen three thing made Lisa case appealing to Dr. Tanizaki after hearing her story. His overwhelmed desire to develop a new groundbreaking scientific technology discovery that could cure a condition that was consider hopeless. The fame, overwhelming praise and acknowledgement he would receive. A desperate an eager boyfriend who was willing to let him have free reign to do whatever he wanted just to cure his girlfriend without questions, which Liam wasn't able to do at the time. Well we know how everything ends.

After their talk Owen and Ianto enter the hub to find Tosh and Gwen already there. Tosh look up from her desk greeting them with a smile, while Gwen grimaced seeing the two men enter the hub together with no signs of tension between them. .Gwen wondered what the hell happen between last night and this morning .Owen were supposed to be her allied against Ianto when she confronted Jack.

At that moment everyone attention abruptly turn as the cogwheel door announced the arrival of Jack, who swiftly walk in going directly to his office without acknowledging Ianto or his teammates. Ianto frown seeing Gwen follow Jack to his office before he could talk with him, He didn t need a tarot girl to know what Gwen was up to.

''I wish she would give it a rest,"Tosh scowled. She brought this on herself cheating with Owen, it not like William fabricates a lie.

Ianto sighed, as he went to start the morning coffee, he wondering where Jack had spent the night, it obviously wasn't in the hub.

Now Sitting at his desk Jack grimace seeing Gwen had follow him. Gwen what is it, I'm tired and don't have time for this.

''Jack the incident with Rhys never should have happen'' Gwen said with anger. If Ianto had told us everything from the beginning, we could have prevented this. No, he played God with all our lives; This William was a ticking bomb waiting to explode.

Jack pinched the bridge of his nose. He didn't need this. Gwen, if you don't have any new information on William or his where about, I suggest you go finishes your reports.

''That so typical of you Jack, what so special about Ianto that you keep putting us all in danger including your own son'' Gwen shouted. She knew using Josh was low, but she no longer had Owen in her corner, she need something that would make Jack see how dangerous Ianto was to people that surround him.

But things didn't go as she's plan, Her fatal mistake was using Jack son in her ploy for revenge against Ianto, Jack had had enough of Gwen, as his jaw flinched in anger, he clench his hand slammed his fist on his desk while he gazed at her furiously and shouted'' GET OUT, GET OUT, before I physically throw you out as he rose from his seat letting her know he meant business''.

Gwen move back with her mouth agape, as Jack gave her a look that sent shiver down her spine. As she turn running from his office in tears.

Owen now at his desk exchange a knowing look with Tosh as Gwen rush from Jack office into the bathroom sobbing.

A few minutes later, Jack appeared at his office door and shouted Meeting conference room thirty minutes, Ianto coffee.

Ianto cringe hearing the anger in Jack voice, as he carried coffee filled mugs on a silver tray, After giving Tosh and Owen their coffee, he carefully place Gwen mug on her desk as she return.

Gwen now at her desk watch as Ianto went to Jack office, ''Jack's right , William capture take priority, then it you and me Ianto'' Gwen say with venom, pouring the coffee left for her in the waste bin by her desk.
