I'm sorry I haven't posted a chapter in a while guys, but on July and August I didn't have my laptop at all, and then school started so I've been busy. Not to mention I have a new internet provider and it doesn't work well with the Texas weather right now. FML! I'm trying my hardest though I swear to continue this story, just sorry if it takes forever or some chapters aren't as long as usual. Again. I'M SOOOOOO SORRY! Also I decided to do another contest, it's at the end of this chapter.
~Chapter: 40~
~ASC~
"I finally get to meet you! Derrick Arden!" Ciel declared as Matthew rang the bells wildly.
The fire expanded in Violet house and Sebastian grabbed Ciel, "They'll be coming soon now, Young Master." Sebastian immediately jumped up and landed on one of the dead trees.
The students of Violet dorm ran out, Cheslock screaming, "Everyone seek refuge outside! Hurry!" Different types of Violet students ran out, tall and short, strange and normal, all rushed out the wide double doors.
"Sebastian! Find Derrick!" Ciel ordered.
"Yes, my lord." Sebastian removed the glasses and his eyes sharpened as he scanned the panicked crowd, "Did he come out?"
"Not yet."
Ciel frowned at that. What's the hold up? Hurry up and come out!
"Room leaders, do a roll call and report to the Prefect!" Cheslock shouted. From behind him Violet was watching in shock, his eyes widen open as he stared at the fire, never having this happen before.
There was an explosion in one of the rooms, the fire must have breathed when it reached it, "Still nothing!?" Ciel shouted, starting to get angry and frustrated. "Yes." Sebastian said and Ciel tsked in anger, "It can't be help, Sebastian go save them."
"Please wait."
He didn't make a move to help as he watched the house still, "As I thought…" Ciel stared at him in question, "I can't sense any souls inside purple house. As a demon, I can pick up signs of human life by sensing their souls at this range. But I'm not picking up anything from there."
"Everyone has already left the building?"
"Yes. The five students who withdrew in to purple house are not present including Master Derrick, in other words Derrick was never inside purple house."
"VIOLET!" Ciel and Sebastian looked down as the other Prefects ran over to him, "Is everyone alright?" Herman asked. Violet immediately pulled up his black hood and kept his head down, 'Yes. Everyone's present."
Ciel was still surprised that Derrick wasn't there and Matthew appeared by their side, "This has become a rather strange affair…"
"Indeed." Sebastian muttered.
"The P4 are hiding something concerning Master Derrick and the others." Sebastian said.
"There's no use taking this any further if Derrick isn't in there. Put out the fire!"
"As you wish." Sebastian and Matthew said as they disappeared.
"Everyone from Green House, hurry and get water! Contact the teachers! Blue house! Get water faster than the other dorms! Red house don't fall behind!" Orders were shouted every which way.
"EVERYONE!" They stopped and turned their heads and their mouth fell open in shock as Soma's elephant came charging at them with boats like side bags filled with water and buckets as Sebastian rode him, "IF IT'S WATER YOU WANT, I HAVE SOME RIGHT HERE!"
"Professor Michaelis!" Lawrence shouted in shock as the other Prefects stared in surprise.
There was a sharp whistle and there were more elephants following after, Matthew on the biggest one, he was thankful Parvati was willing to allow him usage of them.
The boys were utterly surprised at all of this but immediately snapped out of it as Edward shouted, "Okay! Green house, follow me!"
"Yes sir!"
"Blue house," Clayton ordered, "You're coming too!"
"Got it!"
They all made a move to go inside and suddenly Violet screamed, "DO NOT GO INTO PURPLE HOUSE!" Everyone stared at him in shock and Clayton said, "B…But…"
"This isn't the time to say such things, you fool!" Soma scolded as he had a bucket in hand, "You! You're the head of Purple house are you not!? You can't protect your people with your worthless pride! What is a Head if he cannot protect his people?" Sebastian was surprised at Soma's outburst but Matthew was smiling happily as he directed the elephants to get into position and to suck in the water.
"Bastard, just who are you mouthing off to huh!?" Cheslock shouted as he grabbed Soma from the front of his shirt.
"Cheslock!" Violet said, his fist tight and shaking by his side, "It's fine… Let them help." Cheslock backed away, obviously sadden at this, "Okay…"
"Everyone! Be sure to cover your mouth with a cloth, don't inhale the smoke!" Edward shouted as everyone rushed to the house and Johann Harcourt shouted, "The wounded should come over here!" By his side was Marcus as he helped bandaged a few burned victims.
"Don't carelessly open the door, it'll reignite the fire!" Matthew shouted as he had the elephants spray water at the third floor windows.
Cheslock glared at Soma and shouted, "I'll remember this you bastard!" He suddenly looked away and mumbled, "This debt… I'll definitely make it up to you!"
The Prefects' Fags laughed at this, thinking how silly he was, but they immediately went back to work.
Everyone rushed to stop the fire, all except Violet and Sebastian and Matthew stared at the male in question.
Are you thinking what I am thinking Matthew?
Unfortunately yes Sebastian… This is becoming quite troublesome…
~ASC~
The next day the fire was almost forgotten, everyone went on with their classes, many of them excited because a special event was coming soon. Though not everyone was excited, Ciel wasn't happy that Derrick didn't come out of Purple house, but there was nothing he could do about it. He asked Matthew to keep asking around, many of his brother's from the White dorm trusting him and would gladly give the blonde any kind of information without realizing anything that is wrong with it. But it wasn't enough.
Derrick and the rest have disappeared, the P4 are keeping their lips shut tight. Ciel thought as he walked with a small group of males, most McMillian's friend's, and he had his head down in thought still, That only means we have left is to contact the principal. But the only ones who can meet the principal at the Midnight Tea Party are the P4 and their fags. Maybe I should just have Clayton killed and take his place… No, no… He shook his head at that thought, as tempting as it was; it was a hassle to try to cover up a death.
"It's good they managed to put the fire out fast last night." One of the boys said. "But there're a rumor going around that it was arson, that's scary. I wonder if the cricket tournament on June 4th will be cancelled."
"The tournament is a tradition at Weston College. It'll be held."
"Well… Blue house doesn't stand much of a chance."
"They say the principal I'll be present too." McMillian's huffed and tightened his small hands into fist with a determine look in his eyes, "So we shouldn't slack on the cheering either."
What!? Ciel thought, his eyes wide in shock, The principal will be at the tournament!?
McMillian didn't notice Ciel's inner turmoil as he said proudly, "Even though they say Blue house is always last, everyone has an equal chance of being called to the midnight tea party."
"Wa-Wait a second!" Ciel grabbed McMillian by his shoulders and asked, "Is that true!?"
"About Blue house always being last?"
"NO AFTER THAT!"
"The principal is busy, but they say he'll definitely attend the tournament on June 4th. And it seems every year he invites one play that did well in the tournament to the Midnight Tea Party."
There was this! A way for me to attend! Ciel had to stay as calm as possible as he asked, "So by doing well do you mean like the player that got the most points for the winning dorm?"
"The criteria are different every year. There are years where it's the one who gets the most points for the winning dorm, but there have also been years where a player from the bottom team was applaud for fair play. The principal chooses the guy who shows play befitting of a gentleman every year." McMillian explained, all of this was confusing to the young Earl. What the hell is that?! Getting chosen is much harder than just winning!
McMillian still wasn't done with his explanation as he jarred Ciel out of his thoughts, "For example, the year before last, the one invited to the tea party was said to be a player that sacrificed himself to defend a spectator from getting hit by the ball." That player happened to be Clayton, and he took quite a hit from that run away ball. "So that was 'play befitting of a gentleman' to the principal." Ciel said, he didn't like the sound of getting smacked. McMillian just waved his hand at that, "But there're eleven people in a cricket team so it's hard to become your dorm's representative. It's impossible for first years anyway!"
Ciel frowned at that, I don't want to admit it, but sports aren't my strong points. It'll be hard to get chosen… What should I do…?
"Phantomhive!" Ciel turned his head and saw Clayton behind him, "I'd like a word."
Ciel was taken to a corner of the courtyard and Clayton smiled at him as he said, "Congratulations! You've been chosen as a cricket player for the tournament on June 4th."
"WHAT! REALLY!" Ciel shouted, it was as if his thoughts were heard and life was actually taking it easy on him.
"Yes." Clayton smirked, thinking it was because Ciel was a first year, not for any underhanded things. "Wh...What an honor!" Ciel stuttered, "But why me?"
"Our dorm is different from those muscle heads at the others, in that we specialize in strategically play. Your physique isn't ideal, but the brains and guts you showed in uncovering Maurice Cole's injustice will certainly be of use to the team. Is what the one who strongly recommended you told us to say."
"Huh?" Ciel said.
"It was professor Michaelis." Ciel's body went slightly ridged at that, "I se.. He did…" Well done Sebastian! I don't want to praise him but he's the best support!
"You should thank him!" Clayton said and Ciel turned around as he said with a fake smile, "Yes! I'm off!"
Ciel went to search for Sebastian and he spotted the other in the corridors, Matthew by his side as the raven was scolding the blonde, Matthew covered in paint, obviously getting into some mischief.
Tch, there's other people. It can't be helped. Ciel cleared his throat and shouted, "Mr. Michaelis!" Sebastian stopped and turned his head slightly and he caught Ciel who jumped into his arms, "Thank you for recommending me as a player!"
"Hey! Phantomhive you shouldn't run." Sebastian said with an all knowing smirk. "I'm sorry; I wanted to say thanks immediately!"
"No need to thank me, because I think you will surely show us some wonderful play."
"YES! I should make preparations for the tournament!" Ciel said cheerfully as Matthew was trying not to laugh, Marcus coming over and taking him away from the company of the other two.
"If it's alright with you, I will help." Sebastian insisted.
"Really!?" Ciel asked excitedly, he wanted to gag at how happy go lucky he had to act.
"Of course. But I ill check whether you have done your homework or not." Sebastian adjusted his glasses as he winked at Ciel, his long bangs covering that eye while the other shifted to his demonic one, "Because after all.. I am one hell of a teacher." They smiled at each other, nothing wrong at all if anyone was looking, but inside Ciel and Sebastian were scheming.
Win or lose, personal score, play befitting of a gentleman. Which one will be important depends on the principal's mood… On top of the fact there isn't any sort of clear standard, it's nearly impossible to get chosen out of all the students. However…If I make points, bring victory to my dorm, and also have them shed tears it'll be perfect. I'll have my place at the midnight tea party no matter what I have to do! Ciel smiled as he walked away and Sebastian smirked, he knew Ciel's thoughts.
"I'm looking forward to June 4th."
~ASC~
"Marcus what is so important? Geez you look like you've seen hell!" I asked the other. He bit his lower lip and said, "Matthew, I heard the P4 talking to each other and… T-They say your dorm isn't allowed in the tournament, they don't want you even involved with the ceremony on June 3rd." My eyes widen at this, my boys and I have been working hard to prepare for our entrance, I had worked with them in secret to get them to play strong in the match, and they were going to be devastated.
"Is this what they wanted?" I asked, just to make sure. He just looked away and held out a letter, "Not just them… I was told to give this to you by the vice-principal; the seal of the principal is on the back." I took the paper and opened it as I read it out loud.
"Hello, I am aware that your dorm is prepared to compete for the tournament, but I regret to inform you that the cricket match is one of tradition, and only the four original dorms can be entered. I will have to ask that your dorm as well be not present for the ceremony on June 3rd, I understand that this will leave your group disheartened, but tradition cannot be compromised for the sake of a few…" I bit my lower lip and tore the paper, this was not good.
I went to my dorm, Marcus running after as he said, "Matthew what are you going to do?" I knew what I wasn't going to do; I wasn't going to take this standing down.
I went in and saw most of my boys there in a study group and I said loudly, "The principal and the P4 say we will be allowed in neither the ceremony nor the tournament!" They were shocked at this but I didn't let them speak up just yet, "I say, fuck them! Let's give them a show they will never forget!"
Matthew, you're getting to involved into this, I think you should stop before we are compromised. Sebastian told me through our link. I wasn't happy with that response, I knew I was getting to attach to this place, to these people that in a way I can consider as friends, but I never had a chance to feel like this before, to experience something I want to believe in so badly. Perhaps it was my human side, or that I never got to go to college, but I can't help it at all... I just hope Ciel will understand.
~End of POV~
"Are you nuts! It's one thing to mess with the P4 but it's a whole different thing messing with the principal Matthew!" Fredrick shouted and Matthew looked at him. "Fredrick, you were the one who was looking forward to this the most! They won't let you play, and if and when I leave, they'll probably dismantle this house! Aren't you angry? Aren't all of you angry?" He asked. They looked away in shame; they wanted to agree, but feared expulsion.
"…I see… Fine… But tell me this, have any of you guys ever done something you wanted to do, but were afraid to?" Again they couldn't look him in the eyes, all except Marcus who stepped forward, though he wasn't part of White dorm, he was rather active in helping Matthew take control, "Every day of my life I wish I could do something but I'm to afraid. I still am… And I know we won't win, but… But I want my voice…No our voices to at least be heard…"
"Y-Yeah…" Fredrick said as he looked up, "I don't want to get expelled, but I don't want to be thrown aside. I don't want my mother or father to look at me with shame in their eyes when they realize the reason I cannot be there because of tradition."
"Tradition… I hear that word so many times… But how are traditions made? Something great and vastly approved by a majority that's how! What if I can guarantee you we can change this tradition without getting any of us expelled, and they will have no choice but to accept us, or deal with public humiliation." They stared at him in worry but at least they were paying attention, "Here's what we are going to do…"
~ASC~
Sebastian met up with Matthew in the middle of the night and the raven was frowning, "Matthew, I do not approve of what you are doing, you are taking this too personal."
"I… I know, but once we are done with this mission, we leave. They will have to deal with the repercussions of my actions, and I want to make sure that nothing ill befalls them. They turned against their own friends, honor, and traditions just to take a shot of something I had promised." Sebastian sighed as he took off his glasses and said, "Master will not be happy."
"When is he ever happy? Well besides when he gets to fuck with your perfectionism." Sebastian's eyebrow ticked at that and I laughed nervously, "A-Anyways, it's not going to be easy, but can you help me break into the party?"
"Matthew, you know I love you, but I swear I'm going to wear your body out as punishment!" Matthew gulped as he backed away and Sebastian had a sinister grin as he pulled his right glove and stalked towards him.
"C-Can't we cuddle?"
There was a loud scream in the middle of the night, shocking the hell out of the students at Weston College.

The guest were in the ballroom, many of them there to see their sons, others just there to make sure their heirs do not mess up and ruin the family honor, and one insane colored woman who was rather attractive, and yet scary since she had a knife handle sticking out from between her bosoms, this was Marcus mother that Matthew was currently drooling over, his mask tight around his face and his clothes neat and clean over his form.
Marcus smacked him, he was wearing a mask as well and he muttered, "Stop staring at my mom!"
"You didn't tell me she was such a babe!" Marcus slapped him again and Matthew grumbled as he was hiding in the shadows, so were his other members, all wearing masks.
There was a voice that echoed in the lively dining room, and the vice-president was there as he said, "I'm sorry to disturb your talk. Everyone, I welcome you to the opening ceremony of the traditional 4th of June cricket tournament. I am glad we are able to open the tournament safely again this year. Please enjoy this night before feast. Well then," He cleared his throat and with a flourish he shouted, "Will the dormitory's representing players come forward!"
Matthew smirked at this and whispered, "Now~"
~CONTEST~
Okay, so I know I said I was going to do the anime version of Black butler into an FF, well I already have about 9 chapters complete in it. For the contest, if you want a preview of how it starts you need to get these three questions right, a hint is allowed, but the last question is going to be a very hard one, whoever gets it as close as possible will win and the preview will be present in the next chapter.
Question 1: In what chapter is Matthew showing more confidence than ever before?
Question 2: What did Matthew have to lose in order to be reborn?
Question 3: In chapter 27 of the secret chapter, why is there a sleeping Matthew, and why is his body changing? And what is one significant change that is noticed by Sebastian?
