One late night, months after Jack has once again disappeared from Sharon's life, she reflects on what he didn't do during their marriage. During that same night, after a difficult case, Andy offers Sharon some comforting words and they stick with her and she starts thinking of her past and eventually begins to focus on what's in front of her.

That day a case was put on Brenda's desk: three homicides. The Deputy Chief started the investigation hoping that everything would be resolved quickly, but when the first trace of human trafficking linked to an agency, she realizes that not everything is as it seems. And Sharon and Andy going undercover as a couple to that agency…it was just a bonus.

Sharon realises how empty her life will be if he doesn't make it and confesses to Provenza just how much she loves him, thereby redefining for Provenza what the word IDIOT means.

This is an alternate ending to Major Crimes. In this story, I'm assuming Sharon took an immediate leave of absence when she was diagnosed with her heart condition.
