*SAME DAY AS PAST CHAPTER*

"Jen? May I speak with you for a moment?" Wade asked me through the noise in the locker room. I nodded and followed him. "Young, watch the room while we're out."

We walked in silence through the hallway of, whatever arena we were in this week. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Superstars, Divas and stage workers were rushing around doing whatever and going where ever. Why would Wade call me out specifically? I bet it's because of our little run-in with those morons today. He probably knows that I went and hunted them down, and now Wade's going to chew me out. Greeeat.

Wade led me into an abandoned locker room and pulled the door shut behind him. He motioned to a bench, where we both sat in silence for a moment. He looked me dead in the eyes before he started talking. "Jen, do you remember me saying last week how I had a plan? But I wanted to save it for a time when we really needed it?"

I laughed. "I remember that. And then I remember you snapping at David because he wanted you to share it right then and there. But what about it?"

"I've been thinking about what the other devious trio said to us earlier this morning, and I've decided that we should put the plan into action. You know, given the current situations and the state of the Nexus."

"And you need me for that, how exactly?" I questioned, starting to feel a bit nervous about Wade's 'plan'.

Wade chuckled. "I can see already that you're seriously starting to doubt my idea before I even get to tell you! Just give me a minute to explain before you go and decide to flip out. You know that we're now down to six members, given Tarver's drug abuse and Skip's injury from this morning. Rollins, Reigns and Ambrose seemed to know what happened as soon as it happened, and have always had something to say about everything. I believe that it's them who are behind all of this. So, I figured that we would need someone to get a bit closer, so to say, to the head of the Shield."

"Barrett, I know exactly where you're going with this! No way!" I protested "What about the first rule?! We stay true to the Nexus! I would think that that rule would include not being close with a member of the Shield!"

He sighed. "Jen, I get where you're coming from with this. The rule will be waived for this! All that I would need you to do is just get close with Ambrose and then just try to find out if they're behind all of the attacks and things! We have Heath and Justin tonight against Rollins and Reigns. If you were to go out to the ring with them and at least attempted to catch Ambrose's attention?" I stood up and started pacing the room, eventually stopping with my back turned to him.

This is by far one of Wade's more out-there plans. Sure, there have been crazy ones, but this tops them all. To have myself try and become close with someone from the Shield, let alone Dean Ambrose? This idea was definitely risky. There's many ways how it could go dangerously wrong. But if it's to help the team and put a halt on the mysterious attacks...

"Fine, but this is only for the team. If anything goes wrong, anything at all, it's on your head!" I teased.

Wade laughed and hugged me from behind. "That's the spirit! And if anything goes majorly wrong, I give you full permission to beat me with a steel chair."

"I don't think it should mess up that badly, but I'll keep that in mind. Right now, I've got to go and find AJ and Kaitlyn before their match." I said, leaving the room.

I whipped out my cell phone and shot each of the girls a text. "Emergency meeting, now, catering." Two confirmed texts later, I was meeting with the girls in the very back of the catering area with nobody else around. I guess everyone's getting ready for the show.

"Kait, it's seriously great to have you back here!" AJ gushed as the Hybrid Diva sat down with us. We all exchanged hugs before their eyes turned towards me. "It was duller in the business when you were out on injury!"

"Alright, Jen," Kaitlyn started slowly "Why are we here exactly? And with an emergency meeting at that!"

I sighed. "Wade's got a new plan. Of course, I'm the only one in the group who he said can know. He's gotta have an acception for you two." I took a deep breath. I was about to continue when catering suddenly began to fill extremely quickly. Confused, we looked over Superstars and Divas alike to see who but WWE COO Triple H standing up on a vacated table.

"If I could have everyone's attention please," he called over the noise. AJ nudged me and signaled over to the table next to it. Of course, it was occupied by none other than The Shield. My eyes connected with Dean's and he had an extremely cocky look on his face. I remembered what Wade said and sent the black-clad man a wink, which seemed to take him by surprise.

"Everyone shut up!" Triple H yelled, now getting everyone to pay attention to him. "Thank you. Due to last week's startling discovery about Michael Tarver, it has been decided that everyone who performs for this company will meet at WWE Headquarters next Friday for a drug test." I scrunched my eyes and sighed, as we heard the rest of the roster groan. I'm fine with everything else, but when it comes to a needle being stabbed into my vein, collecting blood from my body? Nope.

"This is standard procedure after finding out about any sort of drug usage in the WWE. Everyone will report at 2 in the afternoon. If you don't show up for the drug test, you'll be fired. Thank you."

Catering started clearing out again, as the girls turned their attention back to me. "So, as you were saying?" AJ asked. I snuck a glance to the table to see the trio still there, Dean having his stare locked in on me.

"Uh, I'll tell you girls later. We still on for hitting the club tonight?" I asked, changing the subject.

"Oh, totally!" Kaitlyn beamed. "You can't expect me to come back from injury for a normal boring night, right?" We laughed.

AJ checked her watch. "Damn! I've gotta go, I'm kicking off the show tonight! I'll catch you two outside my locker room after the show!" she said in a rush before leaving catering.

"And I've gotta go get ready for Heath and Justin's match! I'll catch ya later, Kait!" I said, giving Kaitlyn another hug.

"Not to freak you out or anything, but Ambrose has been staring at you the past few minutes." She whispered. I nodded before I too left catering. Time to put Wade's plan into action!

I checked my outfit over in the mirror. I had turned my Nexus shirt into a crop top and had on tight jean shorts, paired with knee high black boots. AJ leant me a pair of fishnet gloves and Kaitlyn had done my makeup; Smokey eyes and bright red lipstick. I'm only doing this for the sake of the Nexus. Let's just hope this goes well, or else I may take Wade up on that offer on beating him with that steel chair.

"Justin! Heath!" I called, stepping out from the bathroom "Are you guys ready for your tag match?"

The guys got up from their spots in the locker room and joined me near the door. "We're ready as ever," Heath said, cracking his knuckles "After everything that's been going on these past few weeks, I can't wait to get my hands on those morons!"

"Then let's not waste any more time!" I said, leading them out of our locker room and to the hallway. We sauntered to the gorilla and waited eagerly for the Nexus theme to hit. The curtain opened, revealing Cody Rhodes, looking victorious.

"I'm guessing you beat Sandow?" I asked him, knowing full well what happened out in the ring.

"Heck yeah!" He cheered as he gave me a hug "Now you guys better beat the Shield! I'm sure everyone wants you to! Good luck!" He finished encouragingly before leaving.

The three of us waited, the guys stretching and getting ready for the match. I couldn't help but think of what Wade told me. This is the most absurd plan that I've ever heard of; and that's coming from me! There's a million ways it could go wrong, a thousand ways it could go right, and one way that it could permanently change both of our lives. But I'm a thrill seeker, and the Shield is fueled on danger, so that could be quite a thrill becoming close with them… If the plan even succeeds.

"Jen, we're up," Justin said, snapping me out of my thoughts. I shook my head.

"Got it! Let's put this match up on the board; another win for Team Nexus!" I beamed as our theme started playing throughout the arena. There were defiantly mixed reactions for us tonight, but not as many people booing as there usually are. I guess it's because of what we did with the Shield last week.

Justin and Heath sat on the ropes, holding them apart so I could enter the ring. I made my way through gracefully, trying to seem as casual as I could. We waved to the fans for a few moments before the few dreaded words came out, canceling our own theme.

Sierra, Hotel, India, Echo, Lima, Delta, Shield.

I went and sat on the top back turnbuckle as the so-called "Hounds of Justice" came into view. They all came from the right side of the ring; Seth and Roman nearest the front side of the ring, Dean nearest the back. Rollins did his usual jump and roll while the other two hopped the barricade. Dean looked at me with a twisted smirk on his face before the three entered the ring. Something about his smirk was different tonight. It seemed to have a different meaning behind it, which in turn, made my stomach knot up.

The ref called for Ambrose and me to exit the ring so the match could begin. We did so, eyes locked the entire time. The bell rang and it signaled the beginning of the match, and of Wade's plan.
