Chapter 19

Final Surrender

"No" John says as the silk around his neck tightens. Caleb and Livvie walk back towards the bed of pillows, never loosening their hold on one another. Caleb's moves his hand up her back until he reaches the zipper.

"This isn't what you want… Caleb has you in some kind of trance…." One more silk creates a choke around John's mouth. Caleb and Livvie fall back into the pillows. Caleb releases himself from the kiss and looks deep into her eyes. His hand slowly slides the zipper down her back. He then begins kissing her neck as he moves the dress straps off her shoulders.

John struggles more and more determined to get to Sam. Caleb pulls back once again. He looks at the thin layer of fabric keeping him from her gorgeous body and begins to slide it down. John grips his restraints trying to hold back. Caleb slides the dress off Livvie's body, revealing her to be totally naked. His eyes wander back up to hers. "Are you sure you want to do this?" he asks her one last time. "Surrender your heart to me… Never looking back at the life you once thought worth living?" She strokes Caleb's hair back. "Yes Caleb. I'm yours forever."

Caleb moves the hair away from Livvie's neck and holds a death grip on her. Caleb looks back at John. "Yes….." he says. Caleb shows John his fangs right before sinking them into Sam's neck.

"No!" John screams threw the fabric. Caleb releases just as her body falls limp. A tear runs down John's face as Caleb strokes an unresponsive Sam's head. His arm reaches over her, wrapping a sheet around her naked body. Caleb fingers around her shoulder before look back up at John clenching his fists at the sight. Caleb kisses her head and stands up. He slowly walks over to John then stops right in front of him.

"This is what she wants" he says sternly. "This is what was always meant to be." The choke around John's mouth pulls away. John begins breathing heavy. "You sick bastard. What have you done?!" Caleb smiles at John's words. "What have I done?!" He laughs. "A great detective like you should be able to figure that out….. I just gave Livvie the ultimate gift… Eternal life. The life she was meant to live."
