Chapter 24
Total Control
Caleb is pleased as he stares at John's still body. "You should have let things be...Then maybe it wouldn't have ended this way." He smiles cruelly. "You never had a chance John. And neither did Sam….." Caleb's looks up to the sky. "I hope you've got a front row seat up there. Because when Livvie wakes up….. Well it will be a show you're not gonna wanna miss." Caleb takes one more look at John's corpse before disappearing into thin air.
*Back to the Main Room of the Villa*
Sam still lays on the bed of pillows, unmoved and untouched. Caleb reappears in the center of the room. Caleb looks at her adoringly and walks over to her. He lays down next to her, beginning to stroke her hair once more. "We did it my love… I finally got rid of the only thing standing in our way." He pauses and smiles. "John is dead… And you and I are going to live together for eternity." Caleb kisses Sam's neck. "There's only one thing I have to do to make sure Sam… will never return."
Caleb gets up and walks over to a vase with a single red rose in it. His fingers wrap around the stem of the flower and lift it from its place. He then walks back over to Livvie and places it on her chest. Caleb takes her fragile hands and gently places them in the position to where it looks like she is holding the rose.
He stands back to look at his beautiful bride, before looking down at the ring. "This…" he starts. "This was the one thing that tore us apart so long ago…" Caleb pauses. "But now… It will be the one thing that will clear the way for us, and our love… This ring… will make sure Sam never comes back. And will give you total control over your mind… your body… and your soul…" Caleb looks back at her. "You will be complete."
Caleb kneels down next to her lifeless body. He looks at his hand with the ring on it before placing it on her chest over her heart. Caleb closes his eyes as the ring begins to glow. "Sam…" he begins "You are weak and tired of fighting what was always meant to be." The sky outside turns black and an unholy wind begins blowing violently throughout the villa. "Surrender to me now. For all hope is lost." Caleb's voice gets louder as the wind grows stronger. "You fade away more and more with every moment that passes… As Livvie grows stronger… I come to you now to give you the chance to break down your last remaining wall… And Surrender your heart over to me…."
The ring glows brighter and brighter. "Let yourself become vulnerable to all the forces pushing you down. Give in to the darkness!"
With a sudden clap of thunder, Caleb opens his glowing red eyes. "Give in!" he shouts. Caleb looks down at her. Sam's body suddenly becomes transparent. "Come to me Olivia..."
"This is for Sam!" Before he can even contemplate the situation, a dagger forcefully enters Caleb's back.
