Chapter 11

"Hermione, are you sure I can't get you anything?" Andromeda asked, adjusted the pillows behind Hermione's head. She looked down at the younger girl worriedly.

Hermione shook her head. "I'm fine, Andy, really. She's just kicking a lot."

"Are you sure I shouldn't call for a Healer?"

"Yes," Hermione said, smiling. "I'll just lie in bed. Hopefully that'll calm her down."

"Okay, well, I'll just be heading home. Owl me if you require anything, love. Harry and Ginny are downstairs if you need them." Andromeda bent down, gently kissing Hermione on the lips.

Hermione felt her insides tingle at her touch. "Thanks, Andy."

"You're welcome, dear, now get some rest." Andromeda stood and left the room, shutting the door gently behind her.

Hermione was now eight months and it seemed like her little one was fully ready to come out. A lot had happened in the past month and looking back on it, Hermione felt that some of it was unreal.

Ron had come to dinner at Grimmauld Place earlier in the week with a girlfriend! She had no idea how it had happened, but Ron and Luna had started talking to one another and they were now an item.

Hermione was very happy for both of them. She didn't know how Luna put up with Ron's pigheadedness, but she did. Ron kept Luna grounded, while she kept Ron from being too… well, Ron.

Narcissa had sent owl after owl apologizing to Andromeda for what she had said and done. It took Andy a while, but eventually she realized that she missed her younger sister. The two of them had met once more, this time, no fighting was involved.

The two of them meet each other every week, alternating between the Manor, Andy's house, and somewhere in public. Narcissa had even come to Grimmauld Place so she could meet Teddy and apologize to Harry for what had happened during the war.

It seemed everyone was happy.

Now if only she could get the rambunctious little girl inside of her to calm down. Her sweet pea was active almost twenty-four-seven and it was starting to grate on Hermione's nerves. She loved her daughter very much, but Hermione was ready for the whole pregnancy thing to be over. She didn't know how much more she could take.

Closing her eyes, she tried to drift to sleep.

"How is she?" Harry asked, pouring himself and Andromeda some tea.

"All right I suppose," Andy replied. "She looks tired. I can tell she's not sleeping at night."

Harry frowned. "That's not healthy for her or the baby."

"I know, but I'm not sure what else we could do, Harry. She can't have any Dreamless Sleep potion this late in the pregnancy, it would have negative effects." Andromeda frowned, wishing there was something she could do to ease her love's pain.

The two of them were silent for a moment, each sipping at their tea. Eventually, Harry broke the silence.

"Can I ask you something, Andromeda?"

Andy arched her eyebrow. "Yes?"

"Umm.. I was wondering, what are your intentions for Hermione?" he asked, his cheeks turning red. "I mean, I know you two are… er... lovers, but what is the next step? Is there even a next step?"

Andromeda laughed at his flustered expression. "Oh, Harry, don't be embarrassed boy!" Harry smiled shakily. "Well, to be honest, I was going to ask Hermione to move in with me. I know we won't ever legally be a married couple, but I'd love for us to be a family."

Harry let out a sigh of relief. "Good, I know that's what Hermione wants."

"It is?"

He nodded. "She told me a few nights ago. Maybe not now, but a few months after the baby is born. She would like that very much."

Andromeda beamed. "Wonderful. I think I'll ask her later on."

Ginny entered the room at that moment, a happy Teddy gurgling in her arms. "Andy, he's just so cute." Ginny rubbed her nose against Teddy's.

Andromeda smiled. "You better watch out, Harry, it looks like your girl has caught baby fever."

Harry paled instantly while Ginny just smiled at him innocently.

"I'll be heading home," Andy said, standing up and taking Teddy from Ginny's arms. "Thank you for the tea, Harry."

"No problem, Andy. You know you're always more than welcome here." He smiled at her.

"Floo me if you need anything, or Hermione needs me."

Harry nodded in understanding. He watched as Andromeda stepped into the fireplace, Flooing back home with Teddy in her arms.

Sighing, Harry sat down at the table. Ginny came and sat down next to him. "I love you, you know that?" she asked gently.

Harry laughed, shaking his head. "We're not having a baby. Not yet anyway, Ginny."

She inched closer to him, pressing a kiss to his lips. "Did you ever think it'd be like this?"

He shook his head, wrapping his arm around her shoulders. "I thought things would be so different. When I thought about a future without Voldemort, it definitely didn't look like this."

Ginny frowned, leaning her head against his shoulder. "But everything happened for a reason, Harry."

"But it's my fault," he whispered, his expression going blank. "It's my fault Tonks and Remus are dead. It's my fault Mad-Eye died, and Fred, and Sirius. It's my entire fault."

Ginny felt tears pouring down her face. "Don't say those things, Harry."

"It's my fault we were captured," Harry whispered. "It's my fault that Hermione was raped."

Ginny let out a strangled sob before grabbing Harry's face. She held it between her two small hands, looking at him fiercely. "Don't say those things, Harry!"

"But-" he tried to get out, but she cut him off.

"No! Hermione doesn't blame you; no one does… so you shouldn't either. Harry, everyone knew what they were getting into with this war. We all knew there would be losses, but the chance of a world without that monster was worth it. Fred didn't die in vain, and neither did Remus. And Hermione certainly didn't go through what she did for nothing. We all had parts to play, Harry, not just you."

"But I should have done something," he whispered, hurt in his voice.

Ginny shook her head. "There was nothing you could do." She closed her eyes, trying to steady her racing heart. "What's done is done, Harry. The only thing we can do now is love Hermione and support her."

Harry pulled Ginny into his lap, hugging her tightly. Burying his face in her sweet smelling hair, he cried, the sobs wracking his body.

Ginny rubbed his back, whispering soothing things into his ear.

They were all still healing from the war in their own ways. She just hoped that someday, they'd all be all right.
