Thanks for the patience guys I had trouble getting motivated to write lately but I am back now
"Hey Bonnie, I need your help. Elena's already on her way over but I need you too. What do I pack to take with me?" "I will be there in a minute."
As they set about packing they tried to limit the amount of clothes she was taking to comfortable but work ready clothes that wouldn't break easily. By the time she was ready and the cases were loaded into the car she had 1 wrinkle proof dress and matching pumps for going out and the rest was work wear and her medical books.
They went out to celebrate but because Caroline wanted to be at the farm as early as possible the next morning to get started, she couldn't stay up too late.
The next morning she drove to the farm. As she was moving her stuff into the granny flat out the back, Damon came to help her carry the cases. "So, what do you think of your new boss and the farm?" he asked. "Actually, I am really looking forward to starting work. This is my first posting so I am looking forward to getting my hands dirty."
"That's what I like to hear." Klaus said from the doorway. "Damon was just helping me carry my cases from the car." "Now that that's done he should be heading back to the fields now." Klaus replied. "On my way boss" called Damon as he moved out of the flat. "I need you to come check a heifer when you are unpacked. She is ready to calf but we aren't sure when. She was accidentally impregnated by the bull when she was confused with one of our older heifers by the previous doctor. Unfortunately she is too small and I am worried we might lose her and the calf if she isn't monitored." "Not a problem I can go now. Lead the way." Caroline replied.
As they walked up she could see how low the calf was. The cow was way too little to give birth easily so as Caroline set to work she made sure that the calf was the right way to make it easier on the cow. After turning the calf she checked the mum to ensure she was okay and healthy.
When she was done Klaus tried to help her up and as he pulled her up he got assaulted by a floral scent that seemed to come from Caroline. All of a sudden he got a strong feeling from downstairs that he had not had in years. He stepped back and took a deep breath. It wouldn't do to be attracted to his new vet, no matter how attractive she was.
"Klaus, she isn't far off. Maybe a few hours maybe only a day." She said, seemingly unaffected by his reaction to her. "Thank you Caroline, go take a break and I will come and get you in an hour to show you the heifers that have been in with the bull."
As she walked away he took a breath and tried to clear his head so he could think straight. This didn't work so he went to work with Damon and Kol but that was useless because all they talked about was the cute new vet and if she was single.
