Peera POV

I wake up to the scent of blood. I blink blurry eyes clear and then notice Katniss. She is by my side. I nudge her, but she doesn't respond. I would be contented to leave her there, lying on my shoulder, but then I smell the heavy scent of blood again.

Quickly, I lift her off my shoulder and suck in my breath.

The cloth over her heart is soaked in blood, and the circle is slowly growing larger.

Getting out of my sleeping bag, I search for the first aid kit.

She can't die. Not here. Not now. Not with me watching.

I found it, and ran over to her. I hesitated for a moment, then shook my head. I reached for her shirt, and shuddered as my hand grabbed the fabric. My face red, I started to pull her shirt so that I would be able to bandage her wound. Looking away, I fumbled with the cloth.

I felt her move, and blushed.

"Peeta? What are you doing!" She shrieked. I blushed hard.

"I-I was just going to bandage your wound!" I explained, sneaking a glance at her. She was blushing.

"O-Oh. Um...thanks, but I can do it myself." She mumbled. I nodded. "Can you turn around?"

I did, and waited. I heard the rustling of cloth, and then she cursed slightly.

"Are you okay?" I asked, resisting the urge to turn around.

"Yeah..it just hurts a bit to lift my hand." She explained.

I looked around the cave, and then noticed a black shape. Focusing, I figured out that it was a girl. Ivy. The floor around her was dark, and I saw that it was blood. She had been the source of the smell.

Walking closer, I took a quick look. From what I could tell, her most serious injuries was the one on her waist and her arm. She was the actual source of the smell of blood.

Footsteps approached me. Katniss knelled down and sucked in her breath. She looked at me, and then focused back on Ivy. I walked outside.

It was late afternoon but the skies were already pitch black due to the storm. I held out the water skin and it soon filled up. I gave it back to Katniss who used the water to cool Ivy's head.

Her face was red and blood had already darkened the bandages that Katniss had applied. She tends to her and I watch. Her eyes are narrowed in concentration, her lips pressed together. There is worry in her eyes, but her fingers works nimbly.

Suddenly, she gasps. I walk over to her.

"What's wrong?"

"Ivy...the wounds are closing." I frown, then look down. Sure enough, the only way I knew that she was cut in certain places is the left over, dried blood. Her two major wounds are still bleeding, but not as much. Her face isn't as red.

We both know that this isn't some miracle. There is only one reason for this.

The capital is messing around with her. They aren't done with her.
