"Alright, in that case I go, and I pay 1000 life points so Ra can destroy Yumi." Marik said.

"Activate trap cards, Code Earth, and Human Shield, now I can bring one monster from my graveyard back to the field, and then I choose a monster I control to take the hit from your effect, so I bring back Slifer." Aelita said as her Egyptian god card blocked Ra's attack.

"Well, in that case I suppose I'll end my turn for now." Marik said. "Next turn Ra will be unleashed and you'll lose this game."

"This is way to close, Aelita's holding on against Ra." Joey said. "The only thing is how long can she keep it up?"

"Don't forget, she can play Aelita this round, so it all depends on what that card can do." Yugi said.

"I have a feeling that card is stronger than we think." Jeremy said.

Marik 4000 Aelita 1500: "My move, I summon Aelita in attack mode." Aelita said. "Now my Code X.A.N.A. activates and I destroy Lyoko four times, revealing the final effect of this card, I can skip any phase of the duel, and every time that phase would occur I gain 300 life points."

"I take it you want to skip my battle phase?" Marik asked.

"No, I skip my own draw phase." Aelita said.

"That's an interesting way of giving up." Marik said.

"I never said I was giving up, see I use Aelita's second effect, by sending Odd, Ulrich, Yumi, and William from my field, along with Jeremy from my hand to the graveyard, she gains five counters, and that means her final effect can be used." Aelita said.

"What kind of effect do you mean?" Marik asked.

"I tribute Aelita in order to summon my strongest monster, Franz Hopper." Aelita said as her monster appeared. "Now for his effect, I'm allowed to pick one card in my graveyard and one from your graveyard and they battle, the winner deals damage equal to the attack points of every card in both graveyards combined."

"Wait, but you can't lose with that effect." Marik said.

"Actually, you don't know what cards I'm picking." Aelita said. "From my graveyard I choose William, and from your graveyard I pick Obelisk."

"What's Aelita thinking?" Ulrich asked. "She just gave up the duel."

"No, William has more power than you realize." Jeremy said.

"Well, I hope it's enough." Yumi said.

"You honestly believe that your pathetic monster can beat mine, well I suppose you want to lose so I'll oblige, attack." Marik said.

"You should be patient, William has a special ability that only works if he's brought back from the graveyard, he gains attack points equal to a monster from my graveyard, as long as he has more original points, so I add Ulrich's points to William." Aelita said as William increased to 4100 attack points.

"Wait, but I can't stop my attack." Marik said.

"Exactly, William finish this duel." Aelita said before Obelisk got sliced in two.

"That's it, the winner of the Battle City tournament is Aelita Stones." Roland announced.

"Jeremy, call William, we need to go back in time." Aelita said. "Winning should have stopped the attack."

"Right." Jeremy said as he grabbed his phone. "Hello, William?"

"Jeremy, I could really use your help now." William said.

"Listen William, you need to do exactly as I say alright, get on the computer and initiate a return to the past, set it for two days before we left alright." Jeremy said.

"Alright, I'll give it my best shot." William said. "Ok, enter the coordinates of the time reversion, alright, here goes nothing, return to the past now."

"Alright, looks like everything is back to normal." Odd said.

"You can say that one again Odd." Yumi said with a smile.

"Yumi, your cards are back." Aelita said.

"She's right, they're all back to normal." Ulrich said. "Franz Hopper must of made them Aelita's counter to X.A.N.A."

"That's the most likely explanation, but you guys really like cutting it close don't you?" William said as he walked into the room.

"You get used to it, anyway after everything that happened, I'm just glad tomorrow is going to be a normal day." Aelita said.

"Wait, the contest, we need to come up with something." Odd said suddenly. "No homework for a month."

"Sorry Odd, but I think I have an idea." said Aelita.

"Let me get this straight, all you have to suggest is that we allow the students to watch this tournament?" asked Principal Delmas.

"Yes sir, Yumi told me about it, and I really thought it sounded interesting." Aelita said.

"Well, I suppose it wouldn't be to difficult, I'll see if Jim can set up the proper arrangements." Principal Delmas said.

"Thank you sir, I appreciate that." Aelita said before walking out of the principal's office to meet up with her friends.

"Well?" Yumi asked. "What did he say?"

"He said it was possible, Jim can set up everything." Aelita said.

"Fantastic." Odd said. "Watching those giant monsters battle is going to be a blast."

"Calm down Odd, don't forget we need to stay calm otherwise we might have a lot of things that we can't explain." Ulrich said.

"Well, the drawing is tomorrow, so we should head to class." Jeremy said. "Maybe this time Odd won't sleep through the movie."

"Yeah, and Sissi will stop chasing me around." Ulrich said.

"Cheer up, at least that way you'll know things are back to normal." William said. "As for me, I need to head over to Science, see you guys later."

"We should get going to." Jeremy said. "See you later Yumi."

"Later guys." Yumi said before heading to English.

"Hopefully X.A.N.A. will leave us alone for a while, I think we deserve a moments rest." Ulrich said.

"Don't worry Ulrich, X.A.N.A. should be quiet for a while, that attack had to have tired him out." Jeremy said.

(Aelita defeated Marik and a return trip through time erased any memories of the events except from the Lyoko Warriors. Next chapter will feature the Battle City Finals as they really happened. As always any reviews or critique is appreciated.)
