Aro held her delicate yet strong hand and guided her through the room. From the first moment Didyme step her foot inside the meeting hall, all eyes fell on her face and on her fleeting smile. All the members of the newly founded coven bowed down to their leader's youngest sibling, who held herself as regal and graceful as her brother.
"Marcus," Aro called to his most valuable partner. A tall man with his face framed with his curtained hair and wearing the richest of black robes, walked forward, his footsteps barely making a thud.
Marcus's crimson eyes evaluated those of his friend. A stifled nod was passed between them, before Marcus laid his eyes on Didyme for the first time.
"I present to you, my dear sister," Aro had said, but to Marcus, those words were lost as he stared at the beautiful maiden standing in front of him.
She was glorious. Heart-shaped face with impossible black curls which fell over her back in a cascade-like motion. Her almond eyes were as bloody as his were, but they held so much passion, Marcus couldn't help feel his breath taken away. If his heart was still beating, he would have been suffering a cardiac arrest by now.
Feeling the eyes of Aro over him, he took tenderly the woman's hand into his own. He could sense such strong feelings from her, like her unwavering loyalty to her brother, and her excitement over joining this new life. These feelings were not only coming from her, though. Half of the guards already had been stricken by this superb female, and the bonds of respect and loyalty were already forming in their hearts.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, mademoiselle." He inclined his head in respect, his hair falling over his shoulders.
Her giggles sound so alike like the cathedral's bells, so prettily and so enchanting, Marcus didn't realize there was a small smile tugging at his lips.
He missed Aro's speculating gaze, but he did saw the hint of approval in his eyes. "Please do take of her as tonight's meeting continues." Aro ordered more than asked.
"Oh please Aro, I'm not a child anymore," Didyme's angel-like voice stated as she pouted.
"I know, my heart," Aro, ever so gently, laid his thin lips on the top of her forehead, a gesture only to demonstrate his affection for her, and what was to come if someone ever dared to hurt her. Marcus could read all of this in only one second.
After Aro was gone, Didyme turned to look at him. They held each other's gazes for the longest of whiles and Marcus even forgot where and who he was. He felt as he was about to combust from all the joy and the bliss and from the purest of love that tugged at his soul. Didyme was a woman of great power, even if Aro didn't see it as such.
Being able to make even the saddest of people happy was very dangerous. It was controlling one's happiness; it was being a source of joy. No wonder almost all living creatures felt such deep fondness for her.
And Marcus was no exception. Marcus was, in words of a plebeian, "head over heels" for this woman. Didyme had become, in such short notice, his only reason for living, his only foundation for joy, and the only motivation he needed to go on with Aro's domination campaign.
Didyme had become his happiness.
And Marcus wouldn't have it any other way.
This is my first time ever writing Twilight fanfiction, and I find this pairing fascinating. I solemnly apologize for any mispelled/missing words, this isn't beta-ed and I do sometime miss my own mistakes.
