"Oh! Look!" Yvonne from Panem Weekly squealed as Olivia walked down the street behind her Victors. Beetee was dressed in navy blue slacks, green shirt, and a sparkly black blazer. Wiress was wearing a silver dress under a dark purple shawl. They smiled at each other as they held hands. "Where are you going, dearies?" Yvonne asked breathlessly.

"To get my love the best the Capitol has to offer." Beetee said. "I want to put a perfect gem around her finger." With that announcement, Yvonne and Olivia swooned and sighed. "Come, my love." Beetee said gently to Wiress.

"Now, you know, I don't want the stone to come off in -"

"In the workshop. I know, dear." Beetee said smiling as Wiress kissed his cheek. They met with a salesperson and Wiress looked at the assortment of rings that had the stones laid in the band itself.

"Beetee -" Wiress gasped at a silver band with a soft pink stone surrounded by aqua gems and a few diamond flecks.

"Let's see." Beetee said as the salseperson slid the ring onto Wiress' finger.

"Oh -" Wiress gasped as it sparkled.

"May I?" Beetee asked as Wiress smiled. Nodding to the salesperson, he slid a plastic card across a reader that would take funds from his bank account in District Three. The Capitol had given him and Wiress an allowance for this little trip, and Beetee inwardly chuckled at the irony that the Capitol was paying for this little gift. Carefully, Beetee set the ring in its velvet box before leading Wiress to the lobby of the shop. "Wiress," He began before kneeling on one knee.

Even though they were in a shop in the Capitol versus their homey shed in District Three, and even though the ring was far more elaborate than a coil of steel or other hardy metal like most wedding bands, Wiress stared into Beetee's dark eyes and saw into his heart. "Oh - Beetee - Oh -"

"Wiress, my love, You are a sweet, intelligent, brave, beautiful young lady," Beetee began.

"Oh - Beetee - Yes!" Wiress gasped causing Beetee to laugh.

"Yes, Wiress, dear, you are. And I would like to marry you and spend the rest of my life by your side." Beetee finished.

"Yes - me too - oh Beetee!" Wiress gasped as Beetee slid the ring over her ring finger of her left hand. Customers and salespeople in the store cheered and cried with happiness along with the happy couple as Beetee picked up his fiance and twirled her around as she laughed. Not caring that Panem Weekly was filming the event, Wiress hugged her lover, her protector, her best friend, and the man she had always dreamed of marrying before kissing him soundly.

"Oh, Wiress, what will you do now?" Yvonne squealed absolutely beside herself ecstatic about witnessing two Victors engagement live.

"Dresses." Wiress responded giggling. "Beetee! Dresses!"

"Can't say no, can I?" Beetee quipped. "After all, she said yes." Wiress' eyes widened as Beetee opened the door to a spectacular store filled with evening gowns.

"Oh - beautiful - my sister Wendy would love this -" Wiress gasped before Beetee wrapped her in a hug and wiped tears from her eyes.

"She sees you, Wiress, dear. She's watching over you right now. Let's put you in something she'll find absolutely stunning." Beetee said gently.

Three hours later, Beetee was carrying a large box containing a carefully folded dress. Wiress was tired yet thrilled that she found the perfect dress. Olivia and Wiress were in front of mirrors and talking to salespeople as Wiress tried on at least twenty dresses. Meanwhile, Yvonne stood with Beetee outside the store interviewing him about their lives as a couple. He paused his interview to hand his small card to Wiress before she paid for the dress. Humoring Wiress, he closed his eyes as she exited the store and presented him with a large box. "No peeking!" Wiress squealed as Beetee struggled to carry the box.

"I won't, dear." Beetee laughed. The group headed back to the hotel where the two Victors ate a quick snack before changing into formalwear for their evening sponsorship parties. As Wiress put her bejeweled hand in Beetee's, she peppered his face with kisses. While the Capitolites gushed about Wiress' ring and potential wedding dresses, Beetee was lost in a beauty that outshone the gaudy false glamour around them. Though he was surrounded by glitter and riches, he couldn't tear his gaze away from the splendor of Wiress' large joyful loving eyes.
