All anyone could do was just stand there. For the moment it felt as if time it self just stopped. Robin never lost his temper. Kid flash has known him the longest and even he can't say he saw Robin act like that. No one the team, other than Wally, knew robin spoke a different language.
Out of reflex Batman got ready to follow his son, mentally playing back how the fight first started.
~~~~~*Flash back because I can*~~~~~
The teams mentors had decided to have a party to celebrate the progress the team has made as a whole. They were all different but they all saw how they slowly became a family. They had a nice little get together barely a party. Everyone was met in the main room and then they would go from there. Batman and Robin, more like Batman, called ahead and said that they would be late due to an unusual occurrence. The remaining mentors had told the team they would be here in a while and to just hangout.
Batman didn't like anything "unusual". 'Says a man dressed in a bat suit' He thought to himself. Robin just passed it on as nothing.
A gray feather had been sent to the police station with a note attached to it. Robin had not yet seen the note; was Batman was hiding it from him? He wasn't that sure of that but what he did know was that Batman went the least bit stiff as he read it. So little that no one but him saw it, the only reason being he was train to pick up the littlest detail. Which is why he was drawn to the feather, he noticed it to belong to a robin, he shivered at the thought but it had to have crossed Batman's mind too for him to not show Robin the note.
Why did they pick a robin's feather?
The thought was killing him inside, there were many different kinds of birds but why a robin? Now he was sure that no matter what he needed to know what was on that note. Batman was hiding it for some reason right?
The sound of Batman's voice snapped him out of his thoughts.
Robin looked up sheepishly at his mentor "W-what" he stuttered
Batman returned the look with one that said 'I know you weren't paying attention'
"I said. I'll call the mountain and tell them that well be running late" Robin just nodded as Batman walked a few feet away. Leaving Robin back to his thoughts. So much that he would have missed a small note lying on the evidence table a few feet between him and Batman.
The very one that he had sworn he would read.
He leaded his body over and tilt his head to the side. Just catching the words, he must say who ever this was they were very well taught. The letter was in cursive it seemed to just flow down the paper. He would have to admire it later. Now all he wanted to know was what it said.
Checking to make sure batman wasn't looking he quickly scanned the rest almost fall over in the process.
The Letter read:
Beware the Court of Owls
that watches all the time,
ruling Gotham from a shadowed perch, behind granite and lime.
They watch you at your hearth, they watch you in your bed,
speak not a whispered word about them,
or they'll send The Talon
for your head.
