The Return to the Digital World
A/N: Hey guys! Sorry for not updating for a long time but I am a very busy person but as you can see I am back. Before we get to the chapter I just want to let you know about the poll on my profile. It is about your favorite Digimon couples that I can ever think of so please vote since I like hearing opinions.
Chapter 22: Caroline
Jedrick was still in pure shock as to who he seen in front of her. Of all people that he could've been fighting, it was his long crush Caroline.
"Hehehehe like what you see Guardian?" Darkomnimon's voice suddenly said.
Jedrick then had a face of rage.
"What did you do to her monster" Jedrick then said.
"Oh nothing really, except for a little brainwashing." Darkomnimon said with a laugh.
"Caroline, destroy him" He commanded.
"Yes Master" Caroline responded then she lunged straight at Jedrick.
Jedrick didn't have time to react and suddenly was kicked in the gut which sent him at a boulder. He soon tried to block her attacks but he struggled, he soon gets punched in the cheek and was knocked down. He could feel blood on his face. The others then saw what happened as soon as Jedrick got up.
"Don't worry Jedrick were coming." Takuya said and they all then pulled out there detectors until Jedrick put out his hand to show that he wants them to stop.
"No, this is my job to save Caroline." Jedrick said staring right at her.
He then went in front of Caroline and held her hands to stop her from moving.
"Caroline, don't you remember me?" Jedrick said in a concerned voice.
Caroline then stopped struggling and suddenly said
"Jedrick?" she said.
She suddenly let go and started holding her head with both hands and screamed in pain. Jedrick knew all along that she was still fighting the brainwash but knew he had to try. He took a step forward and stopped when she stayed frozen. She suddenly looked at him with evil intentions.
"You must die" She then lunged at him again and they retaliated at each other again.
I knew it, she is still fighting but what should I do? Jedrick thought.
He suddenly felt a pain in his knee as Caroline karate chopped his knee and he fell to the ground. He then shook her off and tried to constrain her from moving again.
"Caroline, it's me Jedrick, your best friend" he said.
"Friends, I don't have friends, I only work for Darkomnimon" She spat back. Jedrick decided to try something else.
"That is not true, he is only brainwashing you." Jedrick then said. She suddenly stopped.
"Jedrick, please…help…me" She said then suddenly turned eyes red again and attacked Jedrick even more viciously.
"Aaaaaaaahhhhhh" Jedrick screamed in pain as he felt Caroline's foot pushing hard on his chest. He also realized how bloody, bruised, and close to unconsciousness he was until this moment.
"Say goodbye Guardian" Caroline said with a tone but kept the pressure constant when she noticed Jedrick pulling something out.
"Can you at least remember this?" Jedrick said with a small smile.
Caroline looked at the picture, it was her with Jedrick on a swing set.
"Can you see the thing on your wrist" Jedrick said.
Caroline then saw her wrist and noticed that it was a wristband that said Jedrick and Caroline. She then saw Jedrick lift his hand for her to notice that he had the same wristband just like hers.
"It was how to remember each other" Jedrick said with a low voice. He soon fell out of consciousness.
Caroline soon felt all the memories come back to her completely. Every moment together was back with her. The ghoul in her that was controlling then came out of her and it disintegrated into thin air. She then opened her eyes.
"Jedrick" She looked around then noticed that Jedrick was unconscious on the floor.
"Oh my god" She said in shock.
She ran to where Jedrick searching for any injuries. She didn't find anything except for a huge mark on his chest.
"Oh no what have I done" She said with tears close to falling from her eyes.
"I have to do something" she said in her head.
She then was trying to cleanse the mark with some water that she had and then wrapped it around his chest with medical tape found in Jedrick's bag. She soon noticed Takuya and the others show up.
"Hey stay away from him" Takuya said with anger. None of them know that she was free from Darkomnimon's control.
"Listen, I'm free from control and I'm trying to help him." She then looked at Jedrick. "Please forgive me for hurting you Jedrick" Tears were forming from her eyes as she finished wrapping the bandages around him.
"Do you think that we can trust her?" Kouji asks Takuya.
"I'm not sure what do yo think Zoe" Takuya said.
"I think we can trust her" Zoe responded after observing Caroline.
"I agree it seems that she is truly sorry for hurting him plus she was being brainwashed." Kate then added.
"Alright then, we will settle camp here." Takuya said.
"Hey Caroline" Tommy said.
Caroline was still kneeling next to Jedrick until she looked at Tommy.
"You can stay here with us to watch Jedrick" Tommy then added with a smile.
Caroline then nodded and smiled. She then looked at Jedrick who was still unconscious.
It was soon night and everyone was asleep except for Caroline who was still sitting next to Jedrick. She has been feeling completely guilty for giving Jedrick this mark. She still wonders if he wakes up hating her or not.
"Are you ok?" A voice said.
Caroline turned around to see Zoe standing there with a small smile on her lips. She then sat down next to her.
"Not really" Caroline responded frowning.
"What's wrong" Zoe then asked.
"I just feel so guilty for letting this happen to Jedrick. I was the one who caused the mark on his chest which shows that it was my fault." Caroline then responded.
"It wasn't you that made yourself do it, it was that you were brainwashed and you couldn't control yourself." Takuya then showed up.
Both girls turn their heads around to see Takuya standing there with his hands in his pocket.
"Taki I thought you were sleeping" She then kissed his cheeks when he sat down next to her.
"I was then I noticed you weren't in the tent." Takuya responded. He then held her hand.
"Well I was just bonding with our new friend Caroline here" She said smiling.
"Hey Caroline" He then said. Caroline then smiled back.
"Well, where were we, oh yeah Takuya said you couldn't control yourself." Zoe then said.
"I know that, but I still feel the guilt that I just knocked the guy I'm like crazy in love with unconscious" Caroline then responded.
"Don't worry Caroline this happened to me in my last time here." Takuya then said. He still remembered the time he almost killed them all when he transformed into Burninggreymon.
"Well didn't you feel guilty" Caroline then asked.
"Yeah for like a day until I realized that there is no point in feeling guilty when yo really weren't yourself doing those bad things so I feel it as an accident." Takuya then responded.
Caroline nodded and smiled again.
"Yeah you are right" She then said.
"Thanks you two I feel better now." She then added.
"No problem" They both said in unison.
"Now you two lovebirds can go back into your little tent of love now" She than added with a giggle. This made the Takuya and Zoe blush.
"Ha-ha very funny" They both said as they went back into the tents.
Caroline then decided to fall asleep as she waits for Jedrick to wake up tomorrow morning.
