Authors notes: erm yea this is just a random one shot I wrote, it's pretty short for me but meh I haven't updated in a while so please enjoy
"Gah! No!" Erza cried as she eyes shot open, she clutched her chest feeling her hearts erratic beating. Her breathing was laboured. Her body felt cold as she saw the blankets on the floor she felt so alone and scared…
But then a muscular pair of arms wrapped around the young mage "it's alright, I'm here and you're safe" a soothing voice muttered in her ear. Upon hearing the sound of his voice she started to relax into his arms. One of his hands gently went over her own he squeezed her hand showing he was still there "I'm fine" she said even though her voice was shaky she honestly felt better knowing her boyfriend was right by her. Without saying a word Gray leaned over to pull the blanket back over them, even though he no longer felt the cold he could feel the Titania shake slightly.
She pulled the blanket tightly around her to keep warm but eventually she turned around seeking warmth from the one source that had never let her down. Gray smiled as he changed his position so he was now lying on his back; instinctively Erza curled up next to him one hand over his guild mark. Gray sighed in content; this was the side of Erza that he rarely saw. The fragile Erza that would be hidden under the façade of the mighty Titania
"What happened" he asked and looked down at his girlfriend, she lifted her head so she looked up at the ice mage
"Same as before" she said in a quiet voice Gray sighed and held her tighter trying to comfort her
"I'm sorry Erza, I wish I could stop them" he said genuinely as his hand gently rubbed up and down her arm "but I can't change the past, I wish I could; hell I would change so many things. But we can't"
"I know Gray" Erza replied sadly "but I just keep seeing it all, the tower of heaven, Simon dying for me and Jellal" at this point Gray held her tighter and kissed her forehead
"That's your past ok. We both have dark pasts but we've both moved on. You're so much stronger than you were before. Everything is different; you're not on your own. You've got fairy tail and you've got me. I know you can never forget what has happened before but just try and focus on the present and look forward to the future. You will have a bright future with the guild and with me. I'll always be there and never forget that"
She looked up at him shocked at his words, this was a side of Gray that was rarely shown a softer side; which had a way with words and always knew the right thing to say. She smiled at him she loved the fact that she was one of the lucky few that was able to see him like this.
"I love you" she murmured before realising that she had actually said that out loud she blushed and turned away but Gray tilted her chin so she was looking into his dark eyes she looked away still embarrassed
"Love you too and don't you forget it" he whispered and she nodded
"I won't" she smiled and leaned up to give him a quick peck on his lips but Gray's hand remained on her cheek and pulled her closer and deepened the kiss not that Erza minded seeing as everything around her didn't matter when his lips were pressed against hers.
They both parted taking deep breaths. Gray smiled goofily at her and she smiled as well before lying back down resting her head on his chest she sighed contently
"We may have had bad pasts and hell stuff might happen in the future that isn't great but I don't care about that, you know why? Because we'll face whatever obstacles together"
"That's so cheesy" she laughed and he complained muttering something about 'that's the last time I be romantic' but she didn't pay much heed. Instead she thought about what he said. The future is an uncertainty but as long as she had fairy tail behind her nothing would bare a threat and with Gray by her side anything seemed possible. She closed her eyes not worried about the dreams she would have knowing that no nightmares would haunt her tonight.
Hehe sorry if it was too cheesy but sod it! I wanted to write a happy fic with no real drama in it. Please tell me what you thought and I'll try and update soon :)
