Chapter Two: Life in the Leaf/A Painful Past

(Hidden Sand Village- Hiruko's Point of View)

My Grandmother and Kovu told me to stay in my room, until the meeting with the Kazekage was complete; Damn, they never let me sit in on one of the Kazekage's Meetings. Damnit, why am I even here; I should be looking for my Big Brother, not sitting here! I rose from my bed, walked over to my closet, slowly moved my hands to the 2 knobs of the Sand Brown Closet; I could feel power surge inside me. I pulled the doors open, all there was were my Clothes and a small Wooden Box; I looked at the box for 8 seconds before kneeling down and picking it up. I walked from the closet without closing it again, over to my bed and sat down, looking at the brown box in my lap.

'Big Brother, where are you?' I thought to myself before opening the box; revealing a Purple Crystal Necklace on a silver chain. I looked at the crystal before lifting my right hand to grab the necklace; I looked at the necklace in my palm, I could see my reflection in it. In the necklace was the Chinese Symbol for 'Poison'; just like my Older Brother. I closed my eyes, thinking of a time before my brother left us.

(Flashback-10 years ago)

I was running down the sandy paths of the Hidden Sand Village, looking for my Big Brother; I had something for him and I wanted to give it to him. I was wearing a light brown shirt, dark brown pants and dark brown shoes, my blood red hair was spiky and at shoulder length; I was carrying a small brown box and holding it close to my chest. I was looking for my big brother, but he wasn't at home and the Kazekage had not seen him at all today. There was only one other place he could have gone; our secret hidden hideout.

I ran all the way to the dark brown rocks in the desert; there was a small wooden house that reposed on the brown cliff and I was going to find my brother there. Once I reached the top of the dark brown rock hill, I saw the brown wooden house come into view, looking to the right, towards the sunset, I saw him looking out into the sunset; my brother.

"Big Brother!" I called out to him as I ran to him, he didn't seem to hear me; so I called out louder. "Big Brother Saso!" I called out to him again, only to see him look at me running towards him with a smile on his face. I ran until I was at his side, by the cliff and looking at the amber light from the sun shine on my brother's face.

"Hiruko, what are you doing here, weren't you in town with Granny Chiyo?" He asked me, "Yes, but I got this gift for you and I wanted to bring it to you." I said with a smile as I presented the Wooden Box to my brother. He looked at the box with wide eyes before taking it from my grasp and opening it; the smile on his face made me so happy and I was glad he loved his gift.

Saso held the necklace up to his face and examined it, mainly the symbol inside the purple crystal. "Scorpion? Why does the crystal have the symbol for 'Scorpion' inside of it, am I like a scorpion to you, Hiruko?" He asked me, "You are something like a scorpion, Big Brother." I said to him, "Really, and how so Hiruko?" Saso asked me, "You're clever and deadly when you feel threatened and will protect the ones that you care for and love the ones that you think are important." I explained to him.

Saso knelled down to my eye height and placed his hands on my shoulders, slowly moving close to my right ear and whispered to me, "If I am a 'Scorpion, do you know what that makes you, Hiruko?" Saso asked me, "No, Big Brother, what does that make me?" I asked him, "My Poison." Saso whispered to me, he then pulled me into a tight hug.

"I-I am your Poison, what does that mean brother?" I asked him, "A Scorpion is a deadly creature, but that is only because it has poison to protect itself. A Scorpion's Poison is the most important thing that is has, just like you are the most important thing that I have." Saso explained to me.

"Am I that important to you, Big Brother?" I asked Saso, "Yes, you are the most important thing that I have and one day, you just might understand what I mean; when I depart." Saso said to me. I look at my brother with confusion, "Depart, where are you departing to brother?" I asked him, "You'll understand one day." Saso said, holding me tight; little did I know, that day was this day and by soon, he meant Tonight.

(Nightfall-10:00 P.M-Hirkuo's Point of View)

I could hear the sound of the sand blowing in the wind outside my bedroom window, but I was tucked away in my bed and was in deep sleep. Big Brother was sleeping in the other bed across the room, we shared a room and he didn't mind. I heard something coming from the roof, like foot steps, but I just kept sleeping; that was until I heard someone calling me.

'Hiruko, come to me.' was what it sounded like and it sound like Big Brother Saso, but I must have been confused because Big Brother Saso was sleeping in his bed. I jerked up from my bed and looked at Saso's Bed but he was not there! I began to panic, rose from my bed, out the door and to Granny Chiyo's Room, I was about knock; then I heard the voice calling me again.

'Come to me, Hiruko. I'm waiting for you on the roof, come to me now.' It said to me again. I looked the left of Grandmother's Door, at the set of stairs that lead to the roof. "Brother? Are you there?" I called softly as I walked to the stairs. I began to climb the stairs, making as little noise as I can, trying not to wake Granny Chiyo. Once I got to the top of the stairs, I pushed the wooden door open; wondering what was on the other side.

Once the door was open, I pecked out into the night; there was some much sand and it was blinding my eyes. I stepped out of the stairway and onto the roof made of sand. Looking around for my brother, but saw nothing; where was he? I looked through the sand and saw a black figure wearing a black cloak, looking out into the distance of the village. I rose to my feet and ran towards the figure, but stopped once I was 5 feet from the person. I could hear the person quietly laughing.

"Hiruko, I was waiting for you to get here." The Person said to me, I began to became afraid, "Who are you and where is my brother?!" I asked/yelled. The person faced me with mud brown eyes, I could see the Scorpion Pendent Crystal on his neck, this man was Big Brother Saso.

"Big Brother, is that you?" I asked him, "Yes Hiruko, it is me." Saso told me. I walked 4 steps closer to look at my brother's face but I was too dark and I saw nothing. "Brother, why are you out here and not in bed?" I asked him. Saso just began to laugh again, "This village is too weak and I want more; I want more that what this place could possibly give me." Saso told me, "Big Brother, what are you talking about?! This place is our home and we both vowed to protect this place; you can't just leave!" I yelled at him.

Saso looked at me with narrowed eyes and a white grin on his face, I then heard a click sound and I could see something moving from the back of Saso's Cloak. Once it surfaced, it was a Wooden Scorpion Puppet Tail; I began to slowly back away.

Saso's tail began to slowly move towards me, I began to move back even more and became even more scared; what was he going to do to me? Out of nowhere, I wasn't able to walk back; I looked over my shoulder, only to see that Saso's Tail was wrapped across my back, preventing me from moving. I looked back at my Big Brother's eyes, which were facing me and narrowed at me.

"Hiruko, I am going to became something great and amazing, just like my art. There is this organization called the Akatsuki that has noticed my gifts and my skills; that is the place for me and I shall become something great. I am leaving Sunagakure and becoming someone that shall make somewhere; I shall become Steathful and Deadly, just like the Scorpion. However Hiruko, a Scorpion is only deadly as it's poison and can't live this life without it. Hiruko, if I am the Scorpion that makes you..." He said, "Your Poison." I answered.

His tail became to wrap around my waist, lifting me off the ground a little; the sand was blowing around us and the Full Moon light shined on me. I looked into his eyes as he looked into mine; I was understanding what he was saying to me.

"Hiruko, come with me and have more power than this village could ever offer you; you would fight by my side and have whatever you could wish for. We are compatible, you and I, the Scorpion is nothing without it's Poison, just how I am nothing without you, my darling little brother. " Saso said to me; I looked into his eyes, I have never seen him this serious.

I opened my mouth and said, "What about Granny Chiyo and Uncle Ebizo, they need us and I can't just leave them. I promised before Mother and Father left that I would keep them safe, I said that both of us would; I-Don't know if I can just leave them like that." I said looking at the ground. I could feel my brother's anger face look at me and imagine the anger and displeasure that he must be feeling right now.

I could feel my brother's tail tighten around my body, lifting me even higher than what it did before; he was planning something. "The Scorpion is nothing without it's Poison, I am nothing without you, we are all that we have in this village and in this entire world. Granny Chiyo and Ebizo hid the fact that our mother and father were killed by the White Fang of the Hidden Leaf Village and you want to protect them?" Saso asked me, tightening the grip of his tail on my body.

I groaned at the feel of my brother's tail around my waist, but I had to stay strong and never forget that he is my brother and that he would never kill me, would he? "This Village, the Villagers, Our Mother and Father, Granny Chiyo and Uncle Ebizo, even the Kazekage; they all lied to us. We are not wanted in this village, but I can see that you are still a young child, Hiruko, and cannot make a decision like this just yet." Saso said.

Saso then positioned the tip of his Puppet Scorpion Tail at the center of my back; I could feel it though the sand brown shirt I was wearing. "Sa-Saso, what are you doing?" I asked my brother; I could feel the Scorpion Tail rip the back of my shirt, leaving my back bare.

The Tail's Tip rested at the center of my bare back, "I shall make you...MY POISON!" Saso said, jabbing his Puppet Tail into my back. I screamed in pain as the tail entered my back, tearing my flesh and muscles with great force; this was so unbearable! I could feel the tail expand into the shape of an 'X', I also felt something leak into my body; my brother was trying to poison me!

"Do not cry, My Little Brother; the pain shall be over very soon." Saso said. Within 18 seconds, the pain was over and I felt my warm blood leak from the wound on my back; I...I felt like I was going to die here and nothing could save me. Saso's Tail began to lay me on the sandy ground of our roof to our home, the blood still leaking from my body; my 6 year-old body began to shiver and shake.

"B-Bi-Big Brother, h-h-how c-could you d-d-do this?" I asked him, looking at him with my amber eyes. He knelled beside me and smiled; using his right hand to caress my right cheek. "You shall not die, Brother. You shall live and become something great; perhaps one day, you and I could rule this village together as one. However for now, I shall leave you and choice my own path; I shall see you very soon, My Poison." That was the last thing that Saso said to me, before disappearing into the sandy night; I never saw him after that.

I reached my right hand out into the sandy night, where my brother had disappeared and left me there, on the roof, bleeding to death; I was alone and dying. "Sa...Sa...Saso...SASORI!" I called into the night before I slipped off into darkness, there on the rooftop of the Hidden Sand Village, my journey of finding my brother began; at age 6.

(End of Flashback)

My Brother, Sasori Akasuna, Sasori of the Red Sand; he left me do die up there on the roof of this house. All of the pain that I have endured over the years, as my power and anger grew out of control. I sat on my bed looking at the Poison Crystal Necklace within my claw; ever since Kovu and I bonded as Master and Familiar, I have gained some wolf like features, not that I mind them. I was always called a monster because of my claws, but the people of Sunagakure still respect me as Granny Chiyo's Great Grandson.

I unhooked the hook in the necklace's chain and placed it around my neck; it doesn't matter if Sasori left me on the roof and that I almost died, He is the Scorpion and I am his Poison. The necklace shined in the sunlight, it made me proud to wear this necklace and my Scorpion Necklace pendent; they are important to me.

My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps coming down the hallway; I must be my grandmother. The door opened and someone entered, but it wasn't my Grandmother or Kovu; this person was wearing a Black Cloak with Red Cloud, Blood Red Hair, Muddy Brown Eyes, Tan Skin and he looked so young, WHO WAS THIS GUY?!

I took a fighting pose, Okami Fighting Style; Kovu taught it to me. "Who are you and what do you want with me?!" I demanded the person to answer me, "Hiruko, it's been so long. You've grown so well and I can tell you that you are stronger than ever, isn't that right, My Poison?" The person said. I dropped my stance and became wide eye; no, it can't be...this guy can't be...my...my...brother?

"Big Brother Sasori?" I whispered, he nodded his head and smiled at me; this wasn't possible, it couldn't be real, IT JUST COULDN'T! I slowly began to walk away from him, praying that this wasn't real; I just can't believe my brother was here and in front of me.

(The Kazekage's Meeting Room)

The Kazekage, Gaara of the Sand, looked at his people, "Has the jutsu been placed?" He asked Granny Chiyo, "Yes Lord Gaara, but are you sure that we should have placed this jutsu on Hiruko?"She asked him. Gaara closed his eyes and thought for about 5 seconds before answering the woman's question.

"We must be sure that the jutsu that holds the Kurogiba inside of Hiruko is still strong; I doubt that the Hidden Leaf Village would want another untameable demon within their gates." The Leader said. This made Granny Chiyo very uneasy, for her great grandson had been through enough pain and suffering after Sasori left the village; she still remembered that night: The Night Hiruko lost control of the Kurogiba.

(The Night Sasori Left-Chiyo's Point of View)

"SASORI!" that was the sound of my youngest Great Grandchild: Hiruko Akasuna. I jumped out of my bed and ran for the door, twisting the knob and running for the Roof Access Door. Once the door was opened the sight of the desert sands were the first thing that I saw, but then I could hear a scream in Anger and Pain. I looked near the railing and saw my Great Grandchild, but he was not normal.

Hiruko was on his knees, holding himself very tight around his stomach; it was almost as if he was in great pain. His Blood red hair had changed to a Coal Black, his hands became claws, his hair grew long to where it reached his back and became more spiked; my grandson was becoming a monster.

"HE'S...HE'S GONE! HE LEFT ME HERE TO DIE! SASORI AKASUNA SHALL PAY FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE TO ME!"Hiruko roared to the skies, which began to part the sand. I ran to my grandson and held him tight; with tears in my eyes, this was not the way that Hiruko was to live and I was going to protect him, even at the cost of my life.
