Hello. Since it's the holidays for me, I decided to update sooner XD So here's chapter 9! It's not too interesting, but there was something stuck in my head so yeah. ._. I hope you'd like it and don't forget to review 3 Btw, my favorite was the last chapter due to gore. :3
"Is this what you treasure most?"
"I shall rob it from you then."
"How about I take your other eye hmm?"
No...No! Stay away!
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHHHH!"
Kurapika jerked awake but then winced in pain.
A dream?
His heart seemed to have a second of hope then. However, when he reached to his left eye, he realised, it was all true. His heart pounded in sorrow, but he quite convinced himself that it was anger. He looked around,. The white walls and beeping noises suggested that he was in a hospital.
"Kurapika, you're awake? How are you feeling?"
It was Melody. She must've heard his change of heartbeat.
"Where's Katsu?" he said it a little more aggressively than intended.
Melody looked away as if she was hesitating to tell him,
"Hey did something happen between you two? Did you both fight again?"
Kurapika did not respond, he just fixed his gaze at her.
"Yesterday Katsu dragged you back to the apartment looking all bloody. And then she was mumbling to herself and crying that it was 'all her fault',"
Melody stared at Kurapika, her gaze questioning him her initial question, 'What happened?'
He had chose to ignore her stare,
"Where's Katsu?" he repeated, trying to sound a lot calmer.
Melody hesitated again before telling him,
"She just left," she paused,
"And she said she's never going to appear before you again."
Upon hear that, Kurapika scrambled off the bed and dashed out, ignore the pain stabbing his chest over and over again, and ignoring Melody calling his name from behind.
His right eye glowed in scarlet as he dashed through the hallway.
I'll kill her. I'll definitely kill her!
He clenched his fist.
I hate the Genei Ryodan! I hate her!
If Melody said that Katsu had just left, it would mean that she is still somewhere close-by. It would mean that he could still get to her.
Zannina Katsu. I will find you and then I will kill you.
He dashed out of the hospital and stopped.
If she was already out of the hospital, where exactly would she go? He cursed at himself for not thinking of that before.
"I'm going to buy dango!"
"I love these! They're so cute and tasty!"
He suddenly remembered these worthless memories.
"Tch," he frowned before running towards the stall which sold dango.
Why must people have memories anyway? All they can do is be remembered. It was something worthless.
Kurapika paced forward, his legs were beginning to feel heavy. Such lack of stamina must be due to the injuries, he thought.
Then there, he began to see her shadow. He was right, she did went to buy dango.
He sped up, his hands reaching out to her.
I am going to kill her...I am...
"Don't go," the whispers of his heart was cut off by his own sore voice.
The arms that that were meant to kill were now wrapped tightly around the small girl. It was as if if he ever let go, she would disappear.
"Kurapika..." her voice was broken but strong, "I'm a Genei Ryodan."
"I know..."
He knows, so why isn't he killing her?
Kill her Kurapika...kill her. Now.
Then he felt something wet against his chest. He glanced down to see big fat tears rolling out one by one down Katsu's cheeks. Her mouth was pressed tightly together to keep a wail from coming out.
"I'm sorry Kurapika...I'm sorry," she said in a broken voice as she buried her head in his chest, bawling.
"I..." Kurapika swallowed, he didn't know what to say.
Kill her! Kill her!
His heart was screaming now.
"Shut up! Just shut up!" he screamed in annoyance as he felt Katsu flinch. But his heart had finally quietened down.
"I don't care anymore..." he whispered.
His voice was tired and stressed. Katsu could feel his hands trembling, whether from cold or from anger she could not tell.
All this time, he had wanted revenge on the Genei Ryodan. He hated the Genei Ryodan, but he wondered why he couldn't hate her as much as he had forced himself to. They were never really fated were they? But even so, he was glad that he had met her, so glad that he wished he would never stop meeting her.
Was this love?
"You know, Kurapika, love is something very powerful. It's a feeling that can overwhelm all the others. Even hatred," he remembered his mother tell him,
"That is why forgiveness exists."
Forgive? He will never forgive the Ryodan. But...
"I love you..." he mumbled with her in his arms. Katsu seemed to be shocked to hear it.
"Don't go...please..."
He hated to beg like this, but he was desperate. He didn't want to let her go.
He felt a strong push from Katsu as she struggled out from his grip. Her face was bright red as tears continue to stream. She wiped them away with her sleeve and gave Kurapika a big wide smile.
"Me too."
With that, she turned away from him and disappeared before another word could be said.
