Katsu could feel the atmosphere even before entering the deserted stone cave. She could see the calm faces of some and the angry ones from others.

No matter what expressions were displayed, Katsu knew that they were all feeling angry, regretful, and betrayed.

Why had they trusted her?

Why hadn't they been more careful?

But none of them spoke.

They were all quite shocked upon Katsu's return. Any sane person would've gone into hiding after killing a member of the Genei Ryodan, let alone betraying the entire troupe.

But none of them moved. They just watched the small girl advance further into their den.

Even Hazama was holding himself back, waiting for Chrollo's order like the rest.

However, the leader seemed as if he had not notice her presence. He just kept his eyes on the book, as if the book was even that interesting.

Despite their composed faces, everyone was holding their breath as they watched their leader's lips move.

"Kill her."

The Ryodan burst into life. All at once flying at the small girl; their hands ready to be stained in fresh red.

This was for Feitan.

This was for betraying the Genei Ryodan.

Katsu did not move nor intend to dodge their attacks. She had deserved it. She had deserved it all.

She breathed in the fresh scent of dust. She wondered how long had they not cleaned this place. Oh yeah, they needn't clean it since they're always moving around anyway.

She could almost see Death holding out his hand to her. Whether if she would have a quick death or an incredibly slow and torturous one no longer mattered, just end all this…

Before the Ryodans had even reached her, they all jumped away, dodging the murderous chains that came shooting out from nowhere, blocking every possible routes towards Katsu.

Her eyes widened a good few inches.

Why?

How?

"KURAPIKA!"

By the entrance, the blonde smirked at the Ryodans.

He had hidden his presence with Inn.

Finally, Chrollo put down his book. His expression changed a little. It was still emotionless, but he had a strange, invisible flame of anger in his eyes.

"Kill them both."

Hazama was the first to charge, with the rest of the Ryodan behind him. His eyes were full of excitement. This was what he had been waiting for for months.

Finally, he could have his revenge.

How convenient, they could avenge both Uvogin and Feitan now.

It was impossible to win, regardless of how strong Kurapika and Katsu might be.

They were both outnumbered.

They had to run…

But even running would be close to impossible, and Kurapika knew that.

Then…

Kurapika grabbed Katsu and with all his remaining energy, he flung her towards the exit.

Her tiny body flew easily with the wind.

Katsu fell on her stomach but immediately recovered, the rain outside instantly soaking up her kimono.

It was raining, she just realized.

"Kurapika!" she called to him again.

Her eyes widened to see him in front of her, once again dyed in red, surrounded by all the Ryodans.

"Run…" blood choked out from his mouth.

"No…" the answer was almost immediate.

Her voice shook as she said so. She was scared. Just like the last time, her legs wouldn't move. She never exactly realized how cowardly she was. This feeling was new to her. Ever since she had learned to kill, she just killed whoever she needed to.

But why…why was killing so scary now?

Knives, blades, and other weird-looking weapons pierced out from his slim body in all directions. His chains bound all of the Ryodan members close to himself, refusing to let them pursue Katsu.

"Run idiot! Can't you listen to me for once?!" he somehow found unknown strength to scream at her.

"No I don't want to!" she screamed back,

"I DIDN'T ASK FOR THIS! I DIDN'T WANT THIS!" her palms were over her face as tears flowed out between her fingers.

Kurapika's heart paced. He was getting really pissed off at her.

He had ran miles in his condition to reach her after asking Melody to track her down as soon as possible with her demonic hearing abilities.

What was he doing? Why is he doing all this for her?

Pain was running through his every vein, it was almost unbearable. After doing so much, he was going to die by the hands of the Ryodan, for her.

Fate was really unpredictable.

It gave him everything, and then in an instant, it takes everything away from him.

It was almost ironic that this was the kind of world he lives in, but if this was the last time he was going to see her, then at least…at least, just once…

"Run…okay?"

His voice was calm, but sore and broken.

Katsu looked up to see him smiling at her.

It was so unlike him, to smile during this kind of situation.

Katsu shivered.

It was the first time he had smiled at her.

But then…

She clenched her fists.

History was going to repeat itself.

No! No! it's too scary! I don't want to face it! I don't want to see such a future!

Shutting her eyes tightly, she turned and ran.

The rain seemed to be singing a sad song for her, the thunder seemed to be crying out loud for her as she ran silently.

Even in the rain you could see her cry so hard as she ran, and ran, and ran…
