Katsu had no idea how long she had been running for, could've been 2 minutes, could've been 2 hours, not like it mattered anyway. If she could, she would've ran forever, but her wobbly legs gave in to her own weight as she tumbled into the puddles of water.
Once again, she was alone.
She had always been alone, just doing whatever others told her to do for money.
Ever since her parents died, Kurapika and Melody were the first to treat her so nicely.
She trembled. Her heart was aching, the familiar feeling of loneliness was back again.
No, this wasn't loneliness. This feeling felt more painful than loneliness.
She shivered.
Why? Why am I still scared? I've ran away from the Ryodan…I am safe now..
"Don't go…."
His words echoed through her heart.
Why didn't he kill me? I am a Ryodan…he is an avenger of his clan…so why?
" I love you…"
The answer was right there.
Since when had she felt this way towards another human? This feeling was so irritating.
"Don't go…"
She heard that voice echo again.
"That's right…" she muttered, her voice shaking uncontrollably as tears continued to flow,
"That's right… Kurapika doesn't want me to go…" she picked herself up and wiped away her tears.
The rain stopped as the few rays of light broke through the cloudy sky.
She breathed in, turned, and ran as fast as she could.
It had been so obvious. She had been so stupid.
"Don't go…"
"I won't go. So please, stay with me."
She had wanted to say those words to him back then.
" Kurapika I…"
So before it's too late, before it's too late…
"KURAPIKA I LOVE YOU!"
Katsu screamed, bursting through the entrance once again. The Ryodan all turned at her, surprised.
Kurapika was on the floor, soaked in his own blood.
Did he hear it? …Can he hear it?
Tears welled up once again, her face was now dyed in red as she tried to restrain the tears from flowing out.
Her heart was beating faster than ever.
This fear…
She had finally realized, she was just afraid that he'd leave her. She wondered if that was the same fear Kurapika had felt when he had told her not to go.
Why did she still leave him then? If only she had known that this feeling was so incredibly painful, she wouldn't have… She really wouldn't have…
So this was fate…fate has decided that her words will not be delivered to him.
Then I guess it can't be helped...
No.
She wants him to hear it, even if she has to go against all odds.
Just hear them…please…
"KURAPIKA I LOVE YOU! CAN'T YOU HEAR ME? I SAID-"
"Shut up."
Katsu looked up as the blonde before her struggling to pull himself up,
"Shut up, once is enough. It's creepy hearing it from you."
Her heart sped up, but this time, the feeling was nice.
It was incredibly nice.
"Fancy confessing your love in front of the Ryodan, you couldn't have picked a better place," Kurapika shot her a glare.
"Yeah...it was really fancy, wasn't it?" she smiled as tears dropped and disappeared.
He was panting heavily as more blood dripped, it was obvious he couldn't last much longer.
Kurapika was actually rather surprised yet angry that she had returned. After all he had done to get her out of here, she came back. But then, it seemed as if all that anger had been washed away when she said those words to him.
He was scared.
He was scared that he will never see her again. Did she feel the same way?
Doesn't matter anyway.
If fate becomes their enemy, he'd just go against it, and beat it till it can't move.
He had been scared of going against something as powerful fate, and something as strong as vengeance and revenge, but somehow he felt a new strength in him. It felt like that strength was stronger than anything else in the world.
And he had chosen to believe in that strength.
"And so, we're surrounded, what do you plan to do?" he asked, carefully observing the moves of every Ryodan.
Katsu wondered why he would ask someone like her since he had claimed that she was "stupid" countless of times, but she thought of the answer anyway.
"We run," she grinned,
"Together."
Before Kurapika could respond, she grabbed his hand and sprinted through the exit.
Some of the Ryodans shouted and pursued.
"Leave them," Chrollo ordered rather unexpectedly.
They all stopped in their tracks and returned, wondering about their leader's odd decision.
Could it be that he was touched?
Nonsense. If Chrollo was touched, the world would split into two.
Although the Ryodans were no longer pursuing them, they continued to run anyway, their shoes splashing water from the puddles in all directions.
"Kurapika!" Katsu called,
"I won't go!" she laughed.
"What?" he was confused, his voice batting with the wind.
What is that idiot trying to tell me? Her sentence doesn't even make sense.
"I won't go!" she shouted again,
"So please! Stay with me!"
"Idiot! Of course I'll stay with you!" he shouted back at her but then blushed when he realized what he had just said.
"Kurapika!" she called again.
"What?!"
"I want a family!"
"Why are you even thinking that far?! I'm still 17!" he screamed at her.
His body was stinging like Hell from head to toe, but he did not want to stop running. He wondered since when was he so childish to be fond of something like running. But he didn't really care at that time, he was happy. Katsu was in front of him, laughing non-stop like she had won the lottery or something, and somehow, that made him want to laugh too.
What's wrong with laughing anyway Kurapika?
That's right…what's wrong with it?
He smiled, then laughed.
