Hey, guys! It's Cheyenne and I'm a terrible person because I was supposed to have this chapter up weeks ago. This chapter might be the start of a new genderbent arc, but Melissa and I just have to work out the finer details. But please enjoy!

Excuse any typos~

Adventure Time With Toni & Brew

Gotham was baking in the final stretch of a week long heatwave. The temperatures were up in the mid-nineties and everyone in the city was looking for a way to keep cool. The beaches were open, air conditioners were on blast, and of course the bikini bodies were out on full force.

Case in point, Toni Stark grinned from ear to ear as she looked out at the water. There was nothing she loved more than swinging by Wayne Manor and mooching off of their wonderful accommodations. Today's pleasure of choice: the inside pool. Toni stretched out on the folding chair and took in a deep breath. Her tranquility was disrupted by the pounding footsteps of her less than enthusiastic friend, Brew Wayne.

The dark haired teen slithered into the chair next to Toni's and sipped on her piping hot cup of coffee. "You do know it's like a million degrees outside, right?" Stark said staring at Brew with disgust.

"You do know that this is my house and you're just a squatter, right?" she said with a big snarky grin on her face. Toni rolled her icy eyes and stood up.

"Fine, you little caffeine freak." Stark said as she sat on the edge of the pool with her legs twirling around in the water. "What's on the agenda for today?"

Brew sighed and took in another swig of her beverage before placing it on the table near her. "Well, after your little swim in my pool," she started with the grin still attached, "I was thinking that we could probably head to the movies." Toni smiled at that. While the two of them bicker a lot of the time, she and Brew have a lot of fun together. Especially at the movies. When they're not getting kick out for causing a scene, that is. "Oh and Gil's coming."

Toni let out an exaggerated groan as she dove head first into the water. She swam around for a bit and came up for air when Brew asked. "What's your problem?"

"Oh, nothing. It's just the mere mention of Gil makes me want to drown myself." she explained. Brew rolled her eyes this time. Toni always has something bad to say about Gil, and vice versa, when in reality, Brew is pretty sure that they like each other. Like a lot.

"Get over yourself, Stark. He should be here soon and I don't want you two arguing all day." Brew ordered as Toni splashed about.

"Alright, Wayne. I swear that I'll be on my best behavior." Toni said as she swam to the edge of the pool. She placed a hand over her heart. "Scout's honor." Brew didn't believe her of course, but the girl didn't bother discussing the matter further.

About fifteen minutes later, there was a knock on the grand door of Wayne Manor. After a couple seconds of static, a soft British accent could be heard from the loudspeaker hidden from the visitor. "Hello?" the voice inquired.

"Hi, Frieda. It's Virgil Potts. Brew asked me to come by." answered the young man. A gleeful gasp was heard and the large doors opened up revealing Frieda Pennyworth, Brew's sole caretaker. A large smile was on her face as she beckoned Virgil to come in.

"It's very nice to see you, Mr. Potts. The girls are in the pool house. Follow me." The woman said as she and Virgil ventured off into the mansion.

Virgil couldn't help, but ask. "Girls?"

"Ah, yes, Mr. Potts. Miss Stark has been staying at the manor for the past couple of days." Virgil sighed and ran a hand through his fiery locks. If he knew Toni was here, he probably would've just stayed home. What does Brew see in that her? Yeah, Toni was just as smart as she was and maybe a bit prettier. With her dark hair, crystal eyes, and that quick wit of hers.

And where was he going with this again? Right, Toni. Besides her pleasant appearance, she's obnoxious, narcissistic, and rude. Gil dreads spending time with her and he's sure that she feels the same.

The two of them make it to the large pool house and Gil sees Brew first. She was sitting in her fancy lounge chair downing what the red head figured was a coffee despite intense heat outside. "Lady Wayne," Frieda called which got Brew's attention. Her face lit up at the sight of her best friend. "Mr. Potts is here."

"That'll be all Frieda, thanks." Brew said and Frieda excused herself. The young girl walked over to her Gil and gave him a small hug. "So glad you could make it, Gil. Stark's been getting on my last nerve."

Gil laughed and offered a snide, "What else is new?"

"Yeah. Hey, Toni! Get dressed, Gil's here!" Brew called out. A groan was heard from the other room of the pool house and Toni appeared with her hair wrapped up in a towel. Virgil tried not to stare, but that red bikini she had on looked great on her. He's trying his best to look subtle in hopes that Toni won't notice.

But she totally did.

Toni unwrapped the towel and let her dark hair down. Despite it being a tangled mess, she still looked fairly good. "Hey, Gil. Don't you just look nice today." she said with a sultry grin on her face. Brew wanted Toni to act civil and that's exactly what she's gonna do. However it doesn't mean she can't have fun, right?

"Why aren't you dressed yet, Stark?" Brew asked. She was already decked out in a large flowy shirt and a pair of capris.

"Sorry, I guess I got a bit distracted. I'll get ready right now." Toni said offering a wink in Gil's direction. Suddenly, the boy's knees felt like jelly and had to steady himself on the nearby table. Toni looked smug as she walked out of the pool house to find something to wear.

Brew rolled her eyes and turned to her friend, "Hey, Gil, you with me?" she snapped her fingers and waved her hands in front of his face.

Virgil chirped up immediately and laughed. "Oh yeah. Just peachy. I think I'll go wait in the kitchen. Tell me when Toni's ready."

"Alright then." Brew said, still confused at Gil's demeanor. Gil practically raced out of the pool house leaving young millionaire alone and a tad bit muddled.

Three hours later, the trio found themselves at Gotham's local movie theater. Brew chose the movie this time and opted for the latest horror flick, "Attack of The Grotesque Banshee" The title sounded cheesy, but Toni gave her friend the benefit of the doubt. How bad can a movie be?

Ignoring the constant gawking of the public, the teens finally made it to the front of the line. The boy in the ticket booth had wide blue eyes and a mouth full of metal. His name tag read, "Elijah" and Toni gave him one of her flashy Stark grins. "H-how may I help you?"

"Well, hello there." the brunette twirled her hair around her index finger and giggled a bit. "Can I get three tickets to Attack of The Grotesque Banshee?"

Elijah cleared his throat as he printed the tickets. God, there was nothing that Toni loved more than making boys nervous. He passed the tickets to the young millionaire and his breath hitched when their fingertips touched. "That'll be $21.00 please." The trio put their money together and payed for the tickets. "Enjoy your movie." Elijah said as Gil, Toni, and Brew went inside.

"And you enjoy your day." Toni winked at the boy and his face flushed pink. Once they were actually inside the theater, Gil huffed out a breath and Toni rolled her eyes. "What's with you?"

"Nothing, Stark. I just thought I would get used to your constant flirting." he quipped.

Brew rolled her eyes as a ticked off Toni let out a, "What's the matter, Virgil? You jealous?" They made it to the concession stand where Brew clasped her hands together and sighed.

"Alright, I'm going to get us some snacks and you two are gonna find seats." she said. "Think you can handle that?" The two of them nodded, but Brew didn't see much truth in their expressions. With a nervous sigh, the Gothamite walked over to the concession stand and got lost in the small cluster of people.

"Come on, let's go." Gil mumbled. He started walking over to the theaters with Toni in tow.

The brunette rolled her eyes. She hated picking out seats with Gil. He was one of those people who stressed about being too far or too close from the screen. Lucky for them, the theater wasn't really packed so Gil had time to figure out the "perfect" spot. For ten or so minutes, the red head paced up and down the aisle until he finally stopped at a row. It was near the middle of the theater and thew view of the screen was really great.

"Over here, Stark." Gil called out. As Toni strutted over to the row, Gil had already plopped down in the second seat. She squinted at him and he shrugged his shoulders. "Brew likes the aisle seat." Toni decided not to comment on it.

As the young millionaire squeezed herself between Gil and the seats, the red head strained himself to not stare at her body. Don't look, Gil. It's just Toni. She's rude, obnoxious, and annoying. Remember that.

"You alright there, Potts?" Toni questioned when she finally settled down in her seat. The teen had a squirly look on his face, but he denied that anything was wrong with him. Ignoring the interaction, Toni put her feet up on the seat in front of her and let out a long sigh. "I needed a day off."

Gil faced her, "A day off from what? Inflating your own ego?" He flashed her a snarky grin. Now Toni could take this opportunity to lash out on the boy with her famous wit, but instead she offered a sultry smile and lightly touched Gil's shoulder affectionately.

The red head stared at her, but decided not to put much thought in her actions. Toni did things for attention and Gil didn't want to be apart of it.

Despite an overrated storyline filled with a bunch of naive teenagers getting hunted down by a ominous figure, the movie was actually pretty great. Although Toni won't admit it, she fell for the suspense and cheap tricks to make the audience jump. It usually didn't happen when it came to those movies, but she was completely engrossed in the film. Gil stared at the girl a few times as she jumped and cowered behind the protection of her fingers. It brought a little smile to his face.

It wasn't until the, albeit poorly performed, gory scene that Toni grabbed on to Gil's arm. He turned to her once again and she shrugged her shoulders. "Not the biggest fan of blood." she whispered as she strained to stare back at the screen. Feeling bad for the girl, Gil let Toni lace her fingers with his so she could have a better grip. Being so scared at that moment, Toni didn't notice right away.

Brew sure did.

She didn't say anything at first, but her friends were acting really strange today and it was kind of bugging her. Oh, calm yourself, Brew. It's nothing serious. She thought as her attention was brought back to the movie. Popping a few M&M's in her mouth, the Gotham native let herself enjoy the cliche story bestowed to her.

The evil banshee let out a blood curdling scream when she was finally defeated, but by that time, Toni's face was buried in Gil's shoulder with the latter lightly touching her arm for comfort. "Jeez, what's up with her?" Brew asked in a hushed tone pointing at the other girl."

Gil laughed a bit. "Guess the movie got to her." About five minutes later, the lights came on as the credits rolled. Letting out a tired sigh, Gil nudged Toni's arm.

"It's over?" she questioned looking up at her friends who nodded. Untangling herself from Gil, Toni stood up and fixed her hair. "It wasn't that scary." she said as she went out of the row and waited on the aisle.

"Yeah, right!" Gil teased. "Is that why you kept grabbing at me?"

"I was just playing around. Gosh, did you really think that I was actually scared?" Her friends rolled their eyes and called foul in her statements, but Toni shushed them. "Come on, let's go get some actual food."

Getting a few more laughs at Toni's expense, Gil and Brew stretched their tired bodies and followed Toni out of the theater and ventured off into the food court.

Brew grabbed Toni into a booth as Gil stood on line to get their food. Something had been bothering her since the movie and even though she had tried to ignore it, it only persisted. "Where's the fire, Wayne?" Toni asked jokingly.

She didn't want to sound weird or clingy, but Brew just needed some closure. "What's up with you and Gil? You guys seemed pretty touchy today."

"That whole thing at the movies, you mean? Oh, that was nothing." Toni answered. Brew smiled a bit, but was still unsure. It might just be her aversion to being all by herself, but there's no way Gil or even Toni would do that to her, right?

Brew doesn't mind being alone. Not really. She likes reading, working, and sipping her coffee in a comfortable isolation, but she doesn't like feeling alone. The thought of having no one to turn to scares her and it may stem from her parent's murder. The memory of that night troubled her and she didn't realize how far gone she was until Toni touched her arm.

"You okay there, Brew?" she asked. Her usually icy blue eyes seemed a bit warmer as she showed concern for her friend. Brew quickly shrugged her shoulders and brushed her sad thoughts away.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Brew said with a grin etched to her face. Toni didn't find much truth in her actions, but decided not to prod. Gil came back with their food and the trio dug in. The entire time, Toni was still skeptical about Brew.

Back at the mansion, Brew took it upon herself to get some extra homework done. It's not like she needed the grade or anything, but it was nice to have something to do. It was around seven at night and the young teen was enjoying a nice hot cup of coffee, the third one today. There was a knock at the door and Brew called for the person to come in. It was probably Freida coming in to check on her.

However, Toni stood in the doorway. She was dressed in a pair of red pajamas which consisted of shorts and a tank top with gold trimming. "Hey, Brew." she greeted walking over and sitting on Brew's bed.

"Hi, Stark. What's up?" Brew asked returning to her work.

"Oh nothing, just wondering if you're cool. You were acting kinda weird at the food court." Toni said. Brew reacted immediately with an annoyed look on her face. "Hey, don't get all bent out of shape. I'm just a bit worried."

Brew rolled her eyes and sighed. "Don't be, okay? I'm perfectly fine. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some work to do." Brew turned back to the papers in her hands, completely ignoring Toni who shrugged her shoulders and got up.

"Fine, don't tell me, but something's up with you." she said before leaving the room.

Once again, Brew was alone and it should be relaxing. Not having Toni breathing down her neck should feel like a breath of fresh air and yet it kind of stings. With the way her friends are acting, the bickering, the subtle touches, how long would it be until there was no room for Brew? Can she handle that? The loneliness?

Or is this just all in her head?
