Chapter 4: Not a good Digi day

A.n.: Yes I know Yellow is a girl, but in the manga, she masquerades as a boy. Just keep that in mind. I just felt saying that was necessary.

Pearl: What's up guys? It's Pearl. Last time Diamond and Kris kinda had their hands full at the beach with an injured pirate and giant shells. But it was all wrapped up in a rushed job thanks to Guilmon and Dorumon. Talk about a day. I wish my day would end in a quick fashion.

Pearl was at a lost. He woke up just now and found himself in a mountainous range. He looked all around him and found no one nearby. "Hello?" He asked.

"Pearl?!" A person's voice shouted.

"Bwah! Who's there? Show yourself!" Pearl demanded. He took a defensive stance and looked for the source of the voice. Yellow came up from behind him and tapped Pearl on the shoulder. He jumped at the touch and turned quickly and found Yellow standing behind him, giving him a curious look. "Oh. It's only you Yellow... I thought you were gonna attack me or something."

"Why would I do that?" Yellow asked with an innocent smile.

"Well, you of all people wouldn't do that." Pearl smiled back. Pearl then managed to get a good look at Yellow, to notice his sleeves were longer. And Pearl's were too. Also how he now had on a green scarf. "Why am I in different clothes? I know this isn't a casual Friday."

"I dunno." Yellow said. "Why are we in the mountains?"

"Uh... I dunno?" Pearl asked. "Hmm, it's all very strange. Wanna take a look around?"

"I dunno... I think it would be best to wait for the others."

"How do you even know if the others are here? For all we know, they could still be at home and-"

"I saw all of us falling." Yellow stated.

"Boy say what now?"

"When the light came from the computer. I felt like I was falling. But then I saw everyone else falling so I figured I was falling too. Then everything gets all fuzzy after that."

"Well, the important thing is, we're alive and safe. But for the others I'm not to sure. I just hope they're OK."

"Don't worry. I'm sure they're fine."

"How Yellow? Are you with them right now?" Pearl asked.

"Well, not physically. But by heart I'm there. And besides. They have the Digimon with them."

"How would you know that much? And by Digimon, do you mean those monsters that only live in the Digital World? Like in those novels?"

"Yup."

"Where and how did you get that kind of idea child?"

"From the novels. And how also we came here through a computer. It kinda adds up. Computer. Digital."

"OK, if you can prove to me that we're actually in the Digital World... I'll... Go and find my partner Digimon." Pearl joked.

"OK. I just gotta go find some proof first. But where am I gonna find proof?" Yellow asked intently.

"I don't know. Try calling out for a random Digimon to show up." He was now smirking a bit.

"Hmm... OK I guess I'll try that." Yellow thought out loud. "Hey Digimon! If any of you are out there, come out and say hello!"

"You seriously did that?!" Pearl asked with fear struck on his face.

"Yeah. Because you told me too." Yellow answered.

"I was only joking!" Pearl exasperated. "Geez you're such a child man..."

"Uh, yeah." Yellow said. He looked around for a minute, as if searching for something. "I hear rustling. Plain as day."

"Huh? I don't here anything." Pearl answered.

"Just listen." Pearl stood quiet for a moment and heard rustling.

"You're right. And now you probably killed us both." Pearl sighed. "But wait, we could make a run for it to the mountains. We're close by. And we can hide in a cave until help arrives."

"That'll work. But what if help never shows up?"

"Then we become cave people and we uh... like... live like cave people ya'know?" Pearl suggested.

"Man how laughable." Said a voice. "Living like cavemen. Are you sure that's a good way to live?"

"Wah!" Pearl and Yellow jumped and held each other close.

"Oh you're the real idiot Gold!" Said another voice, "Scaring them like that. Immaturity all over you." Platinum stepped out of the bushes with Elecmon.

"Oh come on, you have to admit it was a bit funny." Gold said while coming out of the bushes as well with Coronamon. Pearl and Yellow gave the boy that 'Are you serious?' look to Gold. "What?"

"Oh nothing." Pearl replied, "It's not like we're mad or anything." He was being sarcastic. Gold could tell, but he kept his mouth shut.

"Right, knowing that you're forgiving makes me feel better." Elecmon said.

"Uh... I don't think he's being forgiving." Platinum replied, "Much less sincere."

"What?!" Pearl exclaimed, "What the heck does that mean?!"

"Were you not just being sarcastic? So don't start attacking me over nothing big!"

"Please Lady, don't get upset." Elecmon pleaded, "It will only make things worse."

Platinum sighed. "OK. Arguing may or may not get anyone anywhere. But I'm willing to stop for now if you are."

"Pfft. I guess so. But if we are being serious, I wanna know where the heck the exit is!" Gold exclaimed.

"You do have a point." Pearl said, "If we came in one way, there's bound to be another way out."

"Hmm... Television?" Yellow suggested.

"Even though that's where most people find there answers, I doubt TV will help this time." Gold responded.

"No, hold on a second," Platinum said, "You mean those TV's that are like gateways between the Human World and the Digital World?"

"Yup. Those same ones." Yellow replied.

"Um... I'm lost." Pearl stated.

"You and me both." Gold added.

"TV's are like Gates that are passable with Digivices. But the D3's are the only ones that can open the Gate."

"Well, that's easy for you guys." Pearl said, "But how are me and Yellow supposed to get home if we don't have Digivices?"

"Hmm... Maybe your Digivices are in the area. Gold and I found our Digivices hidden in a temple. Maybe your's are hidden away in a cave." Platinum suggested.

"We're near the mountains. There could be thousands of caves." Yellow added.

"... Well, one of 'ems gotta be the right cave!" Gold declared boldly, "Who knows, with my skills of navigation, it might be the first cave."

"Oh brother..." Pearl sighed, "Might as well start looking. Hopefully it'll be the first one we find."

The group had walked up the mountain pass for a while, they couldn't tell how long. All they could say was that they were heading up.

"Bah... I'm getting tired... May we please rest a moment Gold..." Platinum begged.

"Not until we find the cave!" He said stubbornly.

"Oh come on. Please?" Yellow whined, "It's getting hot too. And I'm not liking this mountain."

"Well, I wouldn't like this mountain if we were just running around in circles." Pearl noted.

"It's just... I feel I've been here before..." Yellow declared.

"Huh?!" Everyone gasped.

"Like, in the Digital World?! Is that even possible?!" Gold questioned. All Yellow could do was shrug.

"That's impossible!" Platinum shouted, "There's no real possible way a human can travel into the Digital World without some form of assistance!"

"Platinum, calm down. You could attract a wild Digimon! And some can be rather grumpy." Coronamon replied.

"Coronamon is right!" Elecmon added, "I'd hate to run into another Digimon like ExVeemon."

Platinum calmed down. "I guess you're right. It would be a waste of my time to get mad and cause trouble."

"Great." Gold said, "Now we just gotta find that cave!" Everyone else just groaned at his statement, "Oh come on! We've rested for long enough."

"Gold... Can we at least look before we leap?" Platinum said.

"We're not leaping! We're going on ahead! We can't just stay here in a place where we're vulnerable!"

"You should learn from him!" Said a voice nearby.

"I agree completely! Let's teach these kids it's not right to trespass into places they don't belong in!" Said another voice.

"OK then! Let's let them have it!" Said a familiar voice.

"It can't be!" Cried out Gold and Platinum. Swooping down from the sky came ExVeemon once again with his arms crossed. This time a new Digimon came down with him. The Digimon looked like a giant red and white hawk with black horns.

"But who's his friend?" Platinum asked.

"That's Aquilamon!" Coronamon answered, "He's a Champion Level Digimon. Watch out! His Blast Rings attack really packs a punch!"

"Don't think we're alone!" ExVeemon said. The ground began to shake under the kid's feet and out from behind a hill came smashing through a yellow dinosaur Digimon looked like he was wearing armor. "That's Ankylomon! He's got an impenetrable armor and one hard hitting Tail Hammer." ExVeemon explained.

"Aw what?!" Pearl exclaimed.

"I just wanna go home now..." Yellow stated.

"Grr... Alright then. If they wanna play rough, then we can too!" Gold explained. "Coronamon!"

"Right!" His partner replied. Gold's digivice began to glow along with Coronamon. "Coronamon Digivolve to... Firamon!"

"You ready Elecmon?" Platinum asked.

"Mhm." The Digimon replied. Her digivice was glowing to along with her Digimon. "Elecmon Digivolve to... Leomon." The two Digimon were now their Champion stages. Gold hopped on Firamon's back.

"You three, go find shelter!" Gold declared.

"But what about you?!" Yellow asked.

"I'll be fine. Just you three get away to somewhere safe."

"I'm not leaving." Platinum declared.

"Lady, it's wise you get to somewhere safe." Leomon stated.

"Hmph. Well fine. Come on!" Platinum said as she grabbed Yellow's hand and ran off.

"Gold..." Pearl said, "Be careful."

"Don't sweat it." Gold replied. Pearl ran ahead to catch up with the other two. "Alright. Let's dance."

Firamon took to the skies and Leomon dashed forward. Leomon began to fist fight ExVeemon while Firamon flew around and shared blows with Aquilamon.

The three kids were running further up the path. But then Yellow tripped. "Yellow!" Pearl exclaimed. He ran over to her and helped her up.

"Tail Hammer!" The duo looked up to notice an iron sphere connected to a tail swinging toward them.

"Duck!" Pearl shouted. He and Yellow brought their hands over their heads and ducked down, hoping not to get hit. The tail swung over their heads and rammed into a cliffside very powerfully. Turning a huge chunk of it into dust. "T-that would've been our heads." Pearl spoke shakily.

"I-I'm scared." Yellow said, hugging Pearl tightly.

"So am I." Pearl said, "But... We can't stand still, let's get out of here!" He started running with Platinum and Yellow by his side. But not too far ahead, he saw a bridge. Sure it was held up by a few strings but it was still a good chance. "Over there! We just need to get to that bridge!"

"Yeah! The other side!" Platinum added. "It's the only option, because if we're on that bridge and it falls..."

"I know..." Pearl said. "But Ankylomon won't be able to pursue. So we gotta work fast."

"Firamon!" Gold shouted. "That was too close!"

"I'm sorry, but Aquilamon is very strong."

"Don't worry, I know you can do this Firamon."

"Blast Rings!" Aquilamon cried as the bird fired multiple red rings at Firamon and Gold.

"Fira Bomb!" Firamon countered, which made the Rings explode prematurely. "Fira Claw!" Firamon's front paws were enveloped by flames and he sliced at Aquilamon a few times.

Aquilamon backed away and the horns on his head grew longer and more pointed. "Grand Horn!" Aquilamon rammed into Firamon's wing and caused Firamon to lose control on his flying.

"Ah!" Gold screamed as he held on to the falling Firamon's back. "You have to get up Firamon!"

"My wing... Gah!"

"At least try to land!" Gold cried.

"I-I can try!" Firamon declared, he switched to a different position and spread his body out. "Brace yourself!" Firamon cried. They hit the ground and skidded to a stop. When Gold was now safely (ish) on the ground, Firamon de-digivolved back into Coronamon but the Digimon now had cuts and bruises.

"Coronamon! Are you alright?!" Gold asked.

"I think so." His Digimon struggled out.

"Oh no. I'm sorry." Gold said.

"Don't sweat it, hehe..." Coronamon laughed. "I'm strong enough. I'll last."

"Not for long though!" Aquilamon broke in, "Grand Horn!" Aquilamon came down trying to deliver the final blow.

"Power Metal!" Cried Dorugamon as he swooped down with Kris on his back. He shot a large iron sphere from his mouth and the sphere made contact with Aquilamon's face, knocking the Digimon away.

"Gold!" Kris shouted out.

"Good thing you showed up in time Kris! Otherwise me and Coronamon would've been goners. By the way, what's with the-"

"Don't ask." Kris simply said. "But don't worry, we'll keep Aquilamon busy. He won't last for much longer and should give out soon. After all, he did fight you."

"Well, after facing me, it should be easy."

"Right." Kris sighed. "OK Dorugamon, let's show 'em!" Dorugamon flew up and headed off to face Aquilamon.

Meanwhile, Leomon was fist fighting with ExVeemon. "Why do you keep fighting with us?" Leomon asked

"This is for the safety of the Digital World. Those kids are here to harm the world."

"What have they done to deserve to be called a hazard?" The two entered in a grappling match at this point. "But whatever motive you have, I will not let you touch Lady Platinum!"

"It doesn't matter how I know to wicked Digimon like you!" ExVeemon snapped.

"We're the wicked ones?! You're the ones trying to bring harm to some ordinary children!" Leomon snapped back. The duo had exited there grappling match now. "Fist of the Beast King!" Leomon fired a powerful aura in the shape of a lion's head from his fist.

"V-Laser!" ExVeemon shot and X shaped laser from his chest, then the two collided, both exploding prematurely.

"Grr... Fine then." Leomon unsheathed his sword and rushed forward toward ExVeemon. "Beast Sword!" He swung his sword down on ExVeemon.

"Critical Crunch!"ExVeemon bit down on the sword and didn't let go, no matter how hard Leomon tried to shake him loose. "Hearty Shatter!" ExVeemon muffled out. He sent his fist right into Leomon's gut. ExVeemon released his grip on Leomon's sword. Leomon fell right on his back and de-digivolved back into a worn out Elecmon. "Hmph. And you said you'd protect that human girl no matter what."

"I- I still will try. Even if I lose. At least I'll know I tried." Elecmon stated.

"..." ExVeemon remained silent. He knew Elecmon had a point in his words. The Digimon was dead set on protecting that one human girl. Why was he so persistent. But ExVeemon knew the feeling of having to protect someone they're partners with...

"Hurry!" Pearl shouted at the top of is lungs. He was waiting on the other side of the cliff with Yellow, while Platinum was being careful not to fall.

"Well, unlike some people, I'm not so hasty." Platinum retaliated.

"Maybe being hasty won't kill you." Pearl said, holding out his hand. He looked past Platinum to see Ankylomon rushing closer and closer. "But Anklyomon could!" He stated with more urgency and fear.

"OK. You win!" She said. Platinum started to pick up her pace a bit. But she accidentally stepped on a weak plank and tripped.

"Oh no Platinum!" Pearl cried. He was about to run to her but someone else caught her.

"Don't worry, I got ya." Said the newcomer. He helped Platinum back up to her feet and motioned for her to go.

"About time Diamond!" Pearl yelled.

"Hmm? So you're implying I'm late. Honestly I think I showed up at the right time. And don't worry about Ankylomon for now, Growlmon will take care of him." Diamond answered.

"Yeah, that's great and all, but hurry up across. This bridge is old after all."

Platinum and Diamond proceeded forward on the bridge when they finally made it to the other side. "Phew, made it." Diamond sighed.

"Now what are we gonna do?" Yellow asked.

"I don't know, but I think there's no more Digimon to attack us for now." Platinum stated with confidence. "Why not head for that cave over there." She pointed over to an opening inside of the mountain.

"Who knows? Maybe the Digivices are in there." Pearl joked.

"Oh ha-ha." Diamond replied.

"I think they could be in there." Yellow said.

"With our luck they might be in there." Pearl responded happily. Inside the cave was just a single chamber with some type of platform, bearing on top two gray D-3 Digivices.

"Hey, you're actually right!" Platinum exclaimed.

"Good, just hurry up and grab 'em so we can get the others and go home. I'm starving." Diamond said.

"But you were just eating before we left." Yellow said.

"Well, yeah. But action takes a lot out of a guy."

Pearl, Yellow, and Platinum shrugged amongst one another. Pearl and Yellow approached the platform and reached out for the Digivices. When their fingers lightly touched the devices, two lights began to glow, a yellow one and a pinkish white one, comparable to a pearl.

When the light faded, their Digivices were of yellow color and white color. "Woah... That. Was. Amazing!" Yellow exclaimed. "Can we do that again?"

"Maybe later." Pearl said, "Now what's supposed to happen? Streamers and balloons?"

"What a silly person you are Pearl!" Laughed a new voice. Pearl jumped and turned to find a small dog like Digimon with really long ears and mainly green and white standing right behind him. "It's great to finally meet you my name's Terriermon!"

"Really?! Uh... I mean, oh! That's cool right? My very own... Dog? Maybe?" Pearl responded bashfully.

Yellow felt tugging on her tunic. She looked down to see a small yellow dragon Digimon. He looked like he was wearing a little samurai helm and armor. "My name is Ryudamon, and I'm looking forward to our parntership together."

"Well, it's nice and all but..."

"But what?"

"I don't wanna fight!" Yellow declared.

"What?! Not Fight?! I plea insanity!" Ryudamon stated.

"Yellow... Why don't you wanna fight?" Diamond asked.

"Because I don't wanna have to hurt anybody. Even a bully like ExVeemon." Yellow answered.

"But Yellow, if you don't fight then you'll never make any progress. I know it's hard to accept now, but we'll never make a difference if we don't fight."

"I guess you're right..." Yellow sighed. A crash outside drew their attention away from Yellow. Everyone ran outside to find Growlmon laying on the ground all beaten down. "Oh no!"

"Growlmon! Are you gonna be alright?!" Dia asked.

"I think so..." He struggled out.

"Diamond! Look up!" Platinum pointed in fear and surprise. Diamond and the others looked to find Ankylomon high in the air.

"What's he doing all the way up there?" Yellow asked.

"It's not good I'll tell you that much." Pearl answered.

"Gigaton Press!" Ankylomon cried. He came hurdling down and crushing Growlmon under his massive weight. Growlmon had de-digivolved back into Guilmon and was unconscious.

"Oh no! Not Guilmon!" Diamond cried.

"Don't worry. I'm not after him. I'm after you kids."

"Gah!" Pearl assumed a defensive stance, "Why what did we do?! We're innocent until proven guilty!"

"Pearl shut up." Platinum said, "Now is NOT the time for endless babbling."

"It ain't endless! It's mindless!" Pearl snapped back.

"Both of you shut up!" Diamond said. "Ankylomon, why are you assuming that we're trying to harm the Digital World? We didn't even know this place existed!"

"We were told by a very reliable source that humans will come to the Digital World and cause ruin to this place."

"Why do you assume we're the humans? Just because you were experiencing peace for so long that you weren't use to seeing any outsiders to the Digital World? Even though deep down somewhere you knew what new Digidestined meant a new darkness was rising? So in order to keep believing your Paradise would stay you had to attack us? Is that it?" Each of Diamond's question hit like an arrow to the heart.

"Well, I guess that's one way to put it... We honestly didn't wanna have to lose our peace."

"But then who are the humans?" Pearl asked, "It seems a bit pointless to have us here if there's nothing to stop."

"But right now we gotta get Gold and Elecmon."

"And Kris too." Diamond added.

"Then let's get going! We don't have all day!" Pearl stated. He was about to start running off until Diamond grabbed his shoulder.

"Hold on! We need a faster way to travel. If we go on our feet we might not get there in time."

"But if we wait too long we'll never get there in time either!"

"Must you be stubborn?" Platinum asked. A boom from off in the distance grabbed their attention.

"At least we don't have to run, right?" Yellow asked.

"I guess so. But what if-" Diamond was about to ask, but another, louder boom cut him off. You could see smoke rising from the distance with each boom.

"That sounds like they're getting closer!" Pearl ran ahead over the bridge to the other side.

"Pearl, what are you doing?!" Yellow pursued with Terriermon and Ryudamon to the other side.

"Yellow! Pearl!" Diamond shouted while trying to follow, only to watch as ExVeemon's V-laser destroyed the bridge. "Oh no..." Diamond said.

"This is not good." Platinum said. "Not good one bit. Nope not at all."

"Platinum, get a grip!" Diamond replied.

Meanwhile on the other side Yellow and Pearl finally caught up with Gold and Kris. "Guys we're here!" Pearl exclaimed.

"Yeah that's all great but what about Dia and Platinum?!" Kris asked.

"Don't worry, they'll be fine. Ankylomon is a friend now." Yellow said.

"Are you sure about that?" Gold asked.

"Yeah. Why?"

"Oh no reason. Although I'd turn around." Yellow and Pearl turned around to see something they weren't expecting. It was Ankylomon trying to attack Dia and Platinum. But he had a red glow in his eyes. The two turned back to see both Aquillamon and ExVeemon had a similar look in their eyes. "What is going here?!" Gold asked.

"Something's not right this time." Kris stated.

'What's going on? They weren't this savage a few minutes ago?' Dia thought to himself. By now they were standing by the edge of the cliff with Guilmon trying his best to shield them. "Guilmon?! You can't fight. Now how you are now."

"True, but I can try!" Guilmon answered.

"Tail Hammer!" Ankylomon struck the ground in front of Diamond and Platinum and the ground gave way, causing the three of them to fall.

"Oh no! Dia! Platinum!" Pearl shouted as he watched his best friend and the girl his best friend likes fall down into the canyon.

"V-Laser!"

"Blast Rings!" The two other Digimon fired their attacks at the rest of the kids and the wind from the attack and they started falling too.

"This totally sucks!" Gold shouted.
