"Don't you ever wear anything else besides your uniform Hatake?" Sakumo smiled and blushed at his best friend's question.
"I could say the same about that sweater you seem so fond of, Kiyomi-chan." Sakumo teased back as they met in the front of the restraunt.
"You could, but you love me to much to complain about my sense of fashion." The female jonin responded quickly as she led him by the hand to a private booth.
Sakumo blushed heavily watching her long black hair swish back and forth eyes going down to her swaying hips, and than further down to her long toned legs.
Once they got to the booth and sat across from each other Sakumo for once got nervous to speak to her. They've been friends since he first moved into Konoha and entered the academy. She was one of nicest and funniest girls he had ever met and was happy when they were put on the same team. Both ended up with a crush on the other by the time they graduated, but feared the other wasn't interested and ended up splitting the team up by the time they were chunin. After a few years of bad relationships the two met up again and finally started talking once more.
Sakumo insisted with himself it wasn't on his growing reputation because her fame was growing as well, though not as fast, but that could be the sexism most people had about kunoichi.
"So you're a sensei now, how is it going so far?" Kiyomi questioned breaking the awkward silence.
"Oh, its good, I mean I just met her yesterday, but we are already pretty close I guess." Making life lasting promises was something only close people did anyways. "I'm sure you know she isn't the most popular girl in the academy."
"Not like you were either, farmer boy." Kiyomi grinned, "But if you can go from being a loser to a famous shinobi, I'm sure your whirlpool student will follow in your footsteps."
The waitress came in with a plate filled with meat, and two cups with a large flask filled with sake. The two jonin placed the meat on the grill and continued their conversation.
"Yeah, I've noticed that seems to be the case with famous shinobi." Sakumo took a drink of the strong sake. Promising himself he wouldn't drink to much, as Kiyomi quickly chugged her drink down and began pouring herself another.
"You're gonna regret drinking so much in the morning."
"Well, I regret a lot of things, so something as minimal as a hangover should be easy to get over." Kiyomi gave Sakumo a wink and rubbed her foot against his leg. "I really wish we stayed in touch more, there were times I thought I'd die if I didn't see you."
Sakumo blushed heavily trying to form words."Y-yeah, uh- uhhm me too." Sakumo took a deep breath remembering who he was.
"You should just drink more, if you're having trouble coming up with things to say Saku-chan." Kiyomi said as she took a bite of the barbecue. Sakumo smiled and finished his cup pouring himself another.
"That's the little brat I remember." Kiyomi smiled at Sakumo who smiled back.
They finished off the sake before ordering another bottle. They decided to walk back to Kiyomi's house with bottle in hand.
"W-we were, such brats. I don't get how sensei put up with us." Sakumo stuttered outside Kiyomi's old family home. "I guess it helped he was your uncle, otherwise he'd of deca-capitated us."
Kiyomi leaned against the intoxicated legend to pull her keys out. "Yeah, don't joke about that Danzo-sensei would've totally tortured us." Kiyomi, chuckled at the thought, he wasn't that cruel.
"Do you want to spend the night, and build couch forts." The kunoichi wrapped her arms around Sakumo and pulled him close. "Please, it'd be fun." Sakumo blushed and decided it wouldn't hurt to stay at least a little while.
"Do, we have to sleep in it I imagine it being rather crowded."
"No we'll fit, I'll just lay on top of you."
"Mm, I like that idea..."
The couple walked into Kiyomi's house drinking another bottle of sake Kiyomi kept at home, before passing out in each other's arms
AN: Not much Kushina in this chapter.
Don't worry there will be much more of her in the next one.
