Chapter 13

Handcuffs part 3

Are dreams a better reality?

Seconds felt like minutes and minutes felt like hours, but I couldn't seem to do anything. Anything, but what I didn't want to do, thank. Thanking of what I should do follow my feelings or follow my brain, even one mistake could end up with me being without Sasuke, but how do I know for sure if I even love him? It could have been a mistake in itself.

If it wasn't or if it was it doesn't change the question. Do I love him or do I not? That should be the first question … or how should I find out if I do or if I don't love him?

I sighed taking in a sharp breath. My eyes roamed over the bed only to end up looking at the sleeping Sasuke. A soft light from the television screen flashed on his features showing his milky skin and his lips curled into a tiny smile. I found myself smiling as well; my mind stopped it's thanking for a few moments when I moved my chained hands up to Sasuke's face. My hand caressed the smooth skin.

I stiffened, my eyes widening the slightest bit. "Sasuke …" I whispered to myself as I withdrew my hand from his face. I closed my eyes, going back to my list of unanswered questions.

Funny … I haven't thought once what Sasuke would want. That would create more questions for me to answer, but that's fine because if Sasuke doesn't love me back, I won't hold my breath and keep nagging him to change his mind, no matter if I do love him or not. If he chooses he doesn't want to see me again, I wouldn't hold it against him. I'm pretty much a walking disaster.

My chest clinched itself painfully, as did my stomach. Tears started to fill my eyes, and my body gave a shiver. "What is the big dial? I've gone weeks without anyone by me, when my parents vanished," I thought. "there was no one … I didn't think of making friends when they were around because I thought my parents would always be there for me, but now they aren't, and all I have is Sasuke, friend or not."

"Kyuubi … he has always been there, but not in the ways I needed … After my parents vanished, I was sent to my god father, Jiraiya. He was always a perverted old man, and he always traveled saying that he was doing research on his book, and that I was too young to understand the wonderfulness of woman beauty. He was gone at months at a time sending me 100 dollars a week for food and necessities. He usually paid for the rent and electricity, but after I was fourteen money stopped coming, but a letter did. The words were hard to proses, but soon after the money ran out and I got the hint, the letter said.

Dear Runt,

Sorry kid, you're just starting to get to expensive for my taste, get a job, and pay your own shit! I have more important matters to take care of. The ladies hahahahaha, have fun kid.

P.S

Stay in school that's what your parents would have wanted and if you don't want to you wouldn't want to disappoint your parents, would you?

Now go get a fucking job runt!

From

God Father, Jiraiya

Jiraiya did as he said, he stopped giving me money and I got a job. I didn't want to disappoint my parents either, so I continue to go to school. It was hard to find a job since no one was hiring 14 year olds. So, I lied about my age, and when my teacher wanted to call home there was no one to call. It was hard to find a way out of it. All through this Kyuubi was there. He was there right after my parents vanished since I had to move in with Jiraiya.

No one knows about my mom and dad, it wasn't even in the news. No one knew about Jiraiya either, but that wasn't the hardest thing to hide because no one really liked me at school because of Kyuubi. Kyuubi never liked me, and at first I stood up to him, but after I was seven years old my new school … all of the school was against me, even some of the teachers were moved to Kyuubi's side by some of the rumors he had spread."

I shock my head trying to clear my thoughts. "Just go to sleep, Naruto!" I shouted mentally. "You can thank about this all you want when you get home and get these handcuffs off your wrists."

I sighed, turning around in doing so, I was face to face with the sleeping Sasuke. I breathed in sharply. "S-Sasuke" I breathed in shock. He grumbled something under his breath cuddling deeper into the pillow he was holding. "Why can't I be that pillow?" I thought. I frowned while a blush crawled over my tanned skin.

I cuddled up to Sasuke's pillow and placed my head on the soft pillowcase. Sasuke's breathe evenly fell in my blond spicks. Small butterflies flow through my stomach as my eyes drifted closed. My hand absently stroked the smooth skin of my raven's hand.

"It must be some lie to say I don't … maybe love you, Sasuke" with that last thought my mind drifted over the bridge to my dream land.

SN

"Naruto,"

"Hm,"

"Dobe,"

"Fv-moe mintes,"

"Loser,"

"Tm,"

"Get up already, your breakfast is getting cold,"

I shot up making Sasuke dodge my head. "Sasuke! I had a dream that you were a zombie and you were trying to eat my face off!" I exclaimed pointing an accusing finger at the teen. "Are you a secret zombie out to rule the world?" I questioned him.

"Either you are an idiot, or a dumbass," Sasuke replied with an eye roll. I snorted, turning my head in the opposite direction.

"I am neither!" I exclaimed. "You're the dumbass, bastard." I grinned until my mind presented what happened last night, and by last night I meant the actual dream that I had. Sasuke was no zombie, and the thought made the air somewhat suffocating and hot.

"Anyway, loser, your breakfast is getting cold," Sasuke said. I looked up at him only to see the image from my dreams.

"Food sounds great!" I shouted trying to get up.

"Clink, clink" my hands sang in protest. I frowned slowly looking down. My hands were bound together with nothing more than metal cuffs and a metal chain connecting the two cuffs together.

"Sasuke," I whispered. The said person I called for looked up at me while he himself was moving from the bed. "Tell me something, teme."

"Tell you what?" he questioned.

"My dear, dear Sasuke why in the hell I'm I still in your handcuffs?" I shouted. I glared at the man with full intent to murder the young teen in his own house even if he was in my dreams that doesn't give him a right to still have me handcuffed!

"Little brother, what is taking so long?" the Uchiha's oldest son said.

"Itachi!" Sasuke growled.

"What Mother was wondering what the holdup was, so she sent me to check up on you two," Itachi whispered in his own defense. "She was wondering if you still had clo-"

"And that would be enough, Itachi you can get out now," Sasuke practically growled. The Raven quickly shooed the man from his room slamming the door behind the uninvited guest.

"Why couldn't that be your dad with that stupid key?" I asked.

"You're such a loser" Sasuke grumbled, but what got my attention was the sigh of relief that came from the teen.

"What are you sighing about? It's not like Itachi was here to still your captive, and you got him away just in time," I stated rolling my eyes. The other didn't say a word, but he did look down in a moment that I could have sworn as a debate in the older boy

"Come on dobe before my mom sends him again."

SN

"So, Naruto," Sasuke's Mother whispered. "Do you like your stay so fare?"

I held up my hands. "Besides these little guys it has been pretty good," I said with a smile on my face. "I couldn't help but to notice you have a garden outside, are you the one that keeps it in check?" I asked trying to keep the small chitchat going since the other two Uchihas were too busy glaring at each other.

She took a sip of her coffee, and then placed it on the table. "How did you notice that it was in the backyard?" she asked.

"When Sasuke left his room to see what Itachi wanted, I got bored, so I looked out of his window for a few minutes," I explained.

"Oh I see, yes that's my handiwork." She chuckled. "Although Fugaku, my husband, thinks I don't take care of it at all," Mikoto said with a smile on her features.

"Fugaku … isn't he out of town or something?" I asked.

"Yes, but he should be back soon if he isn't held up by the investigation at the police station a few towns over," Mikoto answered crossing her arms over her chest.

"What investigation?" I asked scratching the back of my neck.

"Well his leave was so sudden he didn't get to explain everything about it, but apparently some undercover cops got murdered," Mikoto answered gaining the brothers attention. "Since they were undercover for about 10 years now, Fugaku wanted to see what went wrong. Especially because the two didn't want to go on the mission in the first place and because he was the one that assigned them to the job."

"Mother you didn't tell us this," Itachi said. He looked at her with a glare.

"I didn't want you to worry," she responded softly.

"Who were they?" Sasuke asked. The women looked down, and started to play with her pale hands.

"I would rather not say…" she whispered. I blinked at the women. "Why not?" I thought.

She finished of her coffee before scooting her chair back. "I have to take care of something, oh and Naruto do you still have my number?" Mikoto asked looking at me with a look that made my blood run cold. Something was wrong, but what was it?

"Yes, but I don't have a cell phone to call you from. Why do you ask?" I asked looking at the women and no one else because I know that Sasuke would be giving me a weird look and Itachi would be glaring or would have a look of suspicion. Frankly I just wanted to see the women and no one else at the moment.

"We need to talk," she said. The middle aged women stood up still giving me her full attention. "But I can't say much more this is a privet matter that only you can decide if you want anyone else to hear."

My eyes slowly widened while Mikoto pulled her hair out of her eyes. "Mother what's going on?" I heard Sasuke ask. The women didn't answer.

"How important is this?" I asked ignoring the raven's question.

"Rating it one to ten, one being the lowest, I would say it was a ten."

"Okay … when do you want to talk? I could find a way to get a phone" I explained looking into her onyx eyes.

"After Fugaku gets back and un-cuffs you, then I would have more information so if you have any questions I can answer them" Mikoto answered. I nodded, my confusion was at its peck, but I knew now wasn't the time to question the women. "I'll be excused now," she announces.

"Sasuke, Itachi" Mikoto said looking at each of them, "don't pester Naruto about this issue he has no idea to what is going on."

"Very well," Itachi was the first to speak.

"…Fine," Sasuke whispered. His head was lowed as if in thought

SN

"Why in the hell do you have my mother's number?" Sasuke shouted after we retreated into Sasuke's room. I quickly seat on the black sheets of Sasuke's bed.

"Calm down," I grumbled. My eyes looked down to my hand-cuffed hands.

"Why should I?" he growled.

"It isn't what you're thinking," I said calmly, but inside my heart was pounding on my chest like a drum.

"Oh … how's that?" he growled. I sighed scratching my neck nervously.

"She gave me her number as a friendly jester, remember how I don't have a lot of money for food?" I questioned. Sasuke only gave me silence, but he was tapping his foot impatiently. "Well, she is one of my managers at my work, and almost every day I was starving, and my stomach voiced my hunger when I get off my shift or during the majority of the day. Mikoto was concerned about it so she confronted me. After, I told her that the job I have is the only sores of money, her mother senses kicked in I guess, and she quickly asked me to join her for dinner. I refused, not wanting to be a burden and waste her money. So, she gave me her number just in case I reconsidered," I explained myself. I took a deep breathe, and let it flow past my lips. My eyes closed as I slowly forced my body to relax.

I opened my eyes to look up at Sasuke, who was listening to my long speech. He looked at me in shock his eyes widened the slightest bit, his lips parted showing of his white teeth, and his hair was lightly falling into his onyx eyes. "Then what does she want to talk to you about?" he asked weakly.

"To be completely honest, I have no idea whatsoever. I am so confused to why or what she wants to talk to me about, but since you're my best friend you will be the first to find out," I reassured. He looked at me with suspicion. I held up my hands as if he was a cop and he asked me to freeze. "Sasuke, I have never lied to you that I know of. So, why would I start now?" I asked trying not to panic.

"Whatever," he mumbled. I looked at him with sorrow.

"Sasuke don't be like that," I begged. My hands plunged to grab Sasuke's hand, but I had no idea what I was doing. He turned around, and glaring at my innocent move. I closed my eyes trying to relax my muscles. My eyes opened to be met with his death glare. I pulled our hands up and laced them together, but Sasuke's glare turned a shade darker. Sasuke refused to speak as if his glare could speak for him.

"You don't believe me," I stated simply. I looked into his eyes trying so desperately to find something. "What do you think is going on between me and your mother?" I demanded to know. He looked away from me, and pulled his hand out of mine. His whole body turned away from me as if trying to avoid something.

"Look at me" I growled standing up as quickly as I could while hand-cuffed. Sasuke looked over his shoulder his dark eyes swirled with confusion. "You can tell me anything, anything at all, just please talk to me!" I begged. I clinched my fists and jaw as I waited for the bastard to speak to me, but it never came.

I clinched my jaw so hard that I heard my teeth crackle and my ears rang in protest from the weight I was making them indoor. My nails were digging into my palm as the tension continued. I felt warm liquid running in between my fingers as pain shot through my arm. I felt the liquid gather at my knuckles and slowly drip onto the white carpeted floors. I swallowed as I stared at Sasuke's back. I started to taste iron in my mouth as I tried to clinch my teeth tighter together.

"I want you out of my house" Sasuke's whisper was like the first trace of roaring thunder in a storm. My eyes widened in disbelief.

"I-I didn't do anything! I-I explained what exactly happened! Sasuke?" I whimpered my voice full of fear and hurt. I heard soft pitter patters outside as if the weather could tell I was in distress.

"Oh yeah you're just a god damned liar!" Sasuke shouted. His body turned around his eyes glaring down at me.

Earlier this morning

Sasuke's point of view

Warmth … what is this? I snuggled into the warm pillow. My mind wanting nothing more than to go back into my dream land. My pillow groaned while it shuffled for comfort. I felt something running down my chest before it grabbed at it securely. My eyes opened wide.

My arms where pulling a blond boy onto my chest as his hand grabbed at it like he wanted to be closer to me. His eyes stayed closed as he snored the tiniest bit, and a little slobber was rolling down his chin. My chest went up and down in sync with Naruto's slow breathing that gusted over my clothes.

A small smile rolled onto my face while one of my hands caressed the blond's scarred checks. I pulled some of Naruto's yellow spicks from his closed eyes. His head moved into my hand without him even knowing it. His hand moved onto mine entwining our fingers the slightest bit. My chest jolted upwards.

"Sasuke! Someone is her to see you!" my mom's voice shouted through the door. My body stiffened and my hand yanked itself away.

I made the blond move from my chest reluctantly. His arms folded into my spot as he slowly scooted towards it. I got up, and headed for my door. I opened it expecting my mother, but instead I was met with gold and red.

"Hello Uchiha," his voice was a cold and amused sound that played in my ears.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I growled. I eyed the man with my famous Uchiha death glare.

"Oh, so you do remember me," The teen said. He smirked wickedly while his golden brown eyes mocked my glare with his own. "I just came here to tell you something," he explained.

"I don't need you to explain anything, if you know what is good for you, you would leave," I snarled at the man.

He chuckled at me as he ran his fingers through my black locks. His hand curled on my head, but his hands tried to smash my skull in its palm. I only glared at him ignoring the throbbing pain he was casing. I clinched my fists painfully. "Leave," I growled.

A smirk played with the corners of his mouth, "Naruto, as cute and innocent he may seem he's just playing you," Kyuubi's voice rang in the air.

"He wouldn't do that, he would never do that!" I said clearly. I could feel my glare intensifying without me doing anything. "would you just leave."

"Then how would you explain to me how i was here? Someone had to tell me where you lived. He just didn't want to tell you that he was just playing with your head." Kyuubi said with nothing more than confidence. however, my fist flung to his face getting rid of that confidence really quick.

His head swiftly moved out of the way as his hand moved in front of his face. "He already has his claws in you, huh? That's how he works he sticks his claws into you and waits tell you wouldn't expect his betrayal. He thinks it's funny when you fall to your knees and beg for forgiveness." The red-headed man said. My mind absorbed the information as he told it.

"Hn, you aren't fooling anyone" I growled moving my arm back to my side.

"Sasuke do you know what happened to Naruto's parents?" the red-head asked.

"They vanished when he was six years old, leaving him in the care of his god father," I said knowingly.

"Wrong, he ran away when he was 14. He stole money from anyone to get by, but soon the police found him and gave him back to his parents, only to have him run away again. His parents gave up on trying to bring him home after the 5th time. Therefore, he was home free to do as he wanted." He explained. I narrowed my eyes at the story. It didn't sound at all like Naruto.

"You are the one how's lying fucker, Naruto would never do that he is a good kid that has been disrespected all his life!" I shouted right above an inside voice. "He is nothing like the man you described, Kyuubi. I will never be fooled by you!"

"You are already being fooled, Uchiha," he said with smug written all over his face. "Oh and he loves being called foxy, don't let him say differently," the man chuckled moving himself from my door. "And just because he said that you were the best thing that has ever happened to him doesn't mean he meant it."

He walked away with a sway to his hips, he was about to walk down the stairs when he turned to face me once more. A small, but evil smirk crossed his face. "Naruto isn't what you thank. He is sneaky and clever no matter what he makes on a test. If you don't want to get yourself hurt, then I suggest getting his claws out of you."

Present time

Naruto's point of view

"Oh yeah you're just a god damned liar!" Sasuke shouted. His body turned around his eyes glaring down at me. "Your parents never left you! You ran away from them!" Sasuke shouted. My eyes widened in disbelief.

"Where the hell did you get that from?" I asked trying to read his eyes.

"Just get out damn it!" he shouted.

A crackling sound filled the air outside the large house making my heart race and my teeth shatter. My body shook with fear, I wanted to wrap my arms around Sasuke, but I feared he would through me to the side.

"S-Sasuke," I whispered. My voice was shakier and full of fear. "I-I swear to everything in this damned world th-that I-I" I shouted, but rolling thunder interrupted me, and tears started to flow down my face. My hands clinched my head as I tried my hardest to look at the raven. My teeth chattered together. "Th-th-that everything that I-I told you was the t-truth," I stuttered. "I would never lie to you!" I shouted as a crashing sound filled the atmosphere once more.

My knees collapsed under me as tears ran down my checks. I closed my eyes trying to block out the noise and tears that tried to fall down my face. I slowly opened my eyes to look up at Sasuke's glare. "Please … I lo-" I whispered, but Sasuke interrupted my words.

"I don't care, you're just a damn waste of my time, foxy," the teen growled looking down at me. My eyes couldn't have been wider. In fact, I was to shocked to move, to shocked to speak, to shocked to stop the tears, to shocked to hear the sound of a thunderbolt hitting the ground and rolled in the clouds, and especially to shocked to look away from the man's swirling onyx eyes.

I saw Sasuke's lips moving, but a ringing sound was the only thing I could hear. My eyes burned knowing they were turning bloodshot, and knowing that they needed a rest from all the tears that poured down my face. My ears stopped ringing just in time for a loud sound to feel my senses. My body didn't react to the sound, but my brain did as it screamed in fear. "Sasuke …" I whispered.

"Shut up" he growled.

"I don't know who told you that, but it isn't true. My parents left me when I was 6, my god father left me when I was 14, I was bullied by a teen named Kyuubi for almost 10 years of my life, my birthday is October 10th the same day my parents left. Please, please believe me you aren't just the best thing that has ever happened to me, you are so much more than that!" I shouted. I entwined my fingers as I bowed my head as if praying for forgiveness.

"You're wasting your time, foxy" Sasuke growled.

"Please … I don't want to loss you, I-I lo-"I began, but was interrupted by Sasuke's voice and the thunder it brought with it.

"You lost that chance the moment you lied to me," he roared with the booming thunder. I felt salty liquid pour out of my eyes more and more from the yelling Sasuke was doing and the thunder that tried to mimic the raven's words. I clinched my hands over my blond spicks.

"The only fucking thing I lied about was that lighting isn't my worst fear, damn it! Since you already thank I'm lying about everything anyways , so I'll say it for the hell of it! I fear being rejected, I fear being judged, I fear Kyuubi, I fear ghosts, I fear blood, I fear knives, I fear that every fucking time I close my eyes I'll always be alone, I fear that there is nothing I was meant for besides being a fucking burden to the few people that actually care for me and guess what? The only person that truly cared was you, I fear that I will always be nothing, I fear that when my tiny world crumples away that no one would give a shit, and frankly right now no would" I shouted getting up. My legs shock wickedly it was a surprise my body could even respond to my brain.

My throat felt hoarse, but I didn't care I shouted even louder than before not caring who heard me. "But the one thing that I fear the most is that I trusted you of all the damn people that I could have trusted, and what makes my fear so much deeper is that I was falling for a bastard like you!" I wept swiftly running to the exit, I opened it without effort.

"You wanted me to fucking leave so damn badly, you finally got what you always fucking wanted! Good-bye Uchiha," I said giving the teen one last look. He looked directly in front of himself where I stood. His eyes were full of shock, or maybe something else. "I sure as hell hope you give a shit about your next tortured and damned soul, have one hell of a fucking wonderful life damned bastard because I sure as hell won't."

I slammed the door shut casing the walls to shack and a crashing sound to fill the quiet home. I walked as fast as I could down the stairs. My body began shacking as I almost fell down the carpeted stairs. Unshed tears blocked my vision, I almost ran into a small table with a helpless plant on the top of the wooden panels.

"Naruto!" Mikoto said trying to stop me, but I didn't bother stopping in fact I speed up and pushed the door open.

"I probably won't be back, I'll give you a call for the key and the information you wanted to tell me," I blubbered out before slamming that door shut as well. The windows shock and I heard Sasuke's name being yelled inside the house as well as the pitter pattering of the rain and the soft rumbling of thunder.

I started to walk down the porch stairs tears still blocking my vision. A booming sound filled the air and it shook the ground with a soft vibration. My feet picked up their speed as I ran away from the house. The only thing that went through my head was "damn it Sasuke."
