Chapter 13:
"Hey baby, ready to go home?" Aria cooed as she picked Daisy up.
"Mama" Daisy replied, smiling and putting her small hand on Aria's face. Aria smiled, closing her eyes for a brief moment before she kissed Daisy's head.
"There's my girls." Ezra said, coming into Daisy's room.
"Did you sign the discharge papers?" Aria asked.
Ezra nodded. "All taken care of. We can officially go home."
Aria smiled and Ezra hugged her, Daisy in between her parents embrace. Ezra bent his head and kissed the top of Daisy's head and then did the same to Aria.
"Let's go home." He said, smiling as he took Daisy from Aria and held her with one arm. With the other, he reached for Aria's hand and the family left the hospital.
"Welcome home Daisy!" Spencer said, picking up Daisy and kissing her cheek. Daisy smiled and wrapped her little arms around Spencer's neck.
"Hey Spence. When did you get here?" Aria asked, entering her home. Spencer had a spare key to their house so Aria wasn't all that surprised to see her.
"Not too long. We just wanted to see Daisy when she got home." Spencer said, smiling as she walked into the den.
"We?" Ezra asked, coming in behind Aria. They followed Spencer into the den where Hanna, Emily, Paige, Toby, Caleb, Mike, Hardy, Wes, Dianne, Byron and Ella were. There were colourful balloons and streamers up around the room and, in the middle of the room a large chocolate cake sat on the table.
"Oh my God!" Aria breathed, looking at all the people she loved with tears brimming in her eyes. "You guys!"
"Our favourite niece needed a special welcome home." Hanna said, smiling as she took Daisy from Spencer's arms. "Hi cutie!" she cooed.
"Guys this is seriously amazing" Ezra said, smiling at everyone. "I can't believe how lucky we are to have such great friends and family." he said, wrapping his arm around Aria's waist. "We can't thank you guys enough."
"Okay before both of you start crying and Ezra feels the need to write a poem about this, let's get this party started." Hardy said and everyone laughed, knowing how much Ezra loved to write cheesy poems.
"You heard the man." Aria said, laughing as she went into the kitchen and brought out a few bottles of wine. "Let's party!"
They all had a great time, talking, laughing, eating, drinking, playing with Daisy who had later gone to sleep. Everyone had left about an hour ago, exhausted after a great day. Ezra stepped into the den after putting away the dishes and he saw Aria fast asleep on the couch, a book in her hand. Chuckling, he took the book out of her hand and marked the page with a bookmark before turning back to his wife and gently picking her up.
Even in her sleep, Aria recognized him and she wrapped her arms around his neck as he carried her up the stairs to their bedroom. Ezra smiled, noticing a bit of chocolate icing on the tip of her nose. As he gently placed her down on the bed, her eyes fluttered open.
"Sorry, I was trying not to wake you." Ezra said, sitting down on the edge of her side of the bed and wiping the icing from her nose.
Aria smiled up at him. "It's okay." she said, lifting her hand and running it through his curls. She sat up slowly. "Ezra?"
"Yeah babe?" Ezra asked.
Aria hesitated for a brief moment. "Could you...actually, never mind."
"No, what is it?" Ezra said.
"It's nothing, let's just go to sleep." Aria said, lying back down.
"Aria" Ezra said. "What do you need?"
Aria bit her lip. "Baby wants fries and mango ice cream." she said, holding her hands over her pregnant belly.
Ezra chuckled. "I was waiting for the cravings to start kicking in. Remember when you were pregnant with Daisy and one night you wanted stawberries dipped in ketchup?"
Aria made a face. "Yeah, that was gross. Oh, remember the time I woke you up at 4am and asked you to go to that bakery on the other side of town for red velvet cupcakes?"
Ezra chuckled at the memory. "Yeah and the girls had been over that night and when I got back you guys practically devoured them in 2 minutes."
Aria laughed. "If I recall correctly, you ate more than all of us."
"Guilty." Ezra replied, getting up from the bed. He grabbed his keys from the dresser. "Fries and mango ice cream, right?"
Aria nodded.
"Anything else?"
Aria thought for a moment before she smiled. "Yeah, come here for a sec."
Ezra went over to her. "Yeah?"
Aria leaned up and kissed him. "There, now we're good."
Ezra smiled and leaned back down to kiss her again. "I'll be back soon."
Ezra went downstairs and pulled his shoes on before opening the door to leave. As he stepped outside, he almost knocked someone over but caught them before they could fall off the front porch.
"Sorry, I-" the other person said.
Ezra leaned back and stuck his hand in the open door, trying to find the light switch. When he found it, the porch became illuminated in bright lights and Ezra saw Todd standing before him.
"Hello son."
Hey guys! Sooo sorry that I haven't been updating very frequently and that this chapter isn't that long but school is killer and it's senior year so I really need to focus on my grades. But I'll try to update as soon as I can, which will hopefully be within a week or two. I hope you enjoyed the chapter and don't forget to review, I love hearing from you guys. Also, I had a review recently asking me about whether Malcolm would be part of this story. What do y'all think, would you like to see him in a future chapter? And, if yes, do you want him as a side character that appears once or twice or a constant presence in their lives?
Also, for those of you that read My Saviour, the sequel is on hold for now because I can't handle it right now, hopefully I'll start it up soon but I'm not sure when. Sorry!
Let me know what you think, can't wait to hear from you :)
