NOTE: Okay, so I'm still just a little lost, but I kind of know where I'm going with this. As for this chapter on the other hand, I don't know how it's going to turn out.
Spencer and Emily looked around for Aria as they realized she was missing also. They decided to split up and search for Aria and to try to retrace their steps to find the stairs in which they came down; Spencer looking for the stairs, Emily looking for Aria. They were scared that one of them may go missing next. They didn't know what to do. Spencer walked with her hand lightly brushing the wall, the cold cement giving her arm goose bumps. She thought she was going the right way, but there was no telling for sure. She could still hear Emily's quiet footsteps, so she knew that she wasn't too far, but the steps were getting quieter every second.
Spencer walked about twenty more feet, and then she saw the stairs, a way out of this horrible place.
"Em!" She screamed. She didn't hear a response. "Emily!" She shouted louder. There was still no response. Spencer became frantic. She paced in circles and ran her hands through her hair.
A got Emily too. She's gone, Aria's gone, and Hanna's gone. She thought.
Spencer screamed in desperation. There was no way in the world that this was happening.
"Emily!" She screamed again. Suddenly, Spencer heard footsteps. There were quiet at first, then they grew louder and louder until she saw Emily rush to her side. "Oh my god, Em. I thought . . . I thought A had you too." Spencer gasped. "Why didn't you answer me?"
"I – I didn't hear you . . . It's okay, I'm here now. Let's just get out of here and find Aria and Hanna."
The girls walked up the steps in single file, Spencer in front, and Emily in back. When Spencer was at the top of the stairs, she pushed against the huge rock with all her strength and it didn't budge. Emily tried to squeeze in beside her, even though it was a tight fit considering that the stairs weren't that wide. They pushed together, but the stone still did not move, not a single inch.
"So, we're stuck here?" Emily cried. "Do we know if there's another way out?" Spencer shook her head.
"You shouldn't be here Alison." Ezra snapped.
"Who decided to make you the boss Ezra?" Ali smiled, but it faded quickly.
"You need to leave." Aria said.
"I'm proud of you Aria. You've really grown; matured. Especially after taking those childish stripes out of your hair, they did nothing for you. You look much better without them."
"Leave Aria alone, Alison." Ezra stepped in front of Aria and stood inches away from Alison.
"I see that you haven't changed much. Still into younger women?" Ali said quickly glancing to where Aria stood. "Is she pregnant? I suppose if she is then Mommy already paid her. Am I right?" Ali tilted her chin up in the air and crossed her arms.
"I think I told you to leave her alone. She is not pregnant. I want to know, though, how you convinced my mom that you were. How much did she pay you anyway?"
"Enough." Ali said.
All this time, Hanna sat still in her chair, too much in shock to say anything. She had thought that he friend was dead for three years. She did have some suspicion that maybe her old friend was alive, and seeing Ali in front of her, made it almost seem like she was never gone in the first place. The way she took control of everything, it was as if everything revolved around her. Hanna realized at that moment that she didn't want Ali back.
Hanna could feel her stomach bulging and her arms getting heavier by her sides. She felt like she couldn't breathe because her dress was too small. It was bound to rip any second now.
"It's been a while Hefty." She could hear Ali say. Hanna suddenly became self-conscious and wished she were wearing clothes that covered all of the parts of her body.
"So, what were you planning on doing with Hanna?" Ali's voice saying Hanna's name brought her out of her stupor. Hanna looked at herself and saw a thin waist, her arms and legs their normal width. She was still herself and was not going to return to her overweight, Cheez-Its eating former self from when Ali was around. She is Hanna Marin, and she is fabulous.
"She took something from me and I needed it back." Ezra said. "Now that I know she doesn't have what I need, you can just take her back, she's useless."
"Where are the others?" Ali demanded.
"How am I supposed to know? All I needed was Hanna." Ezra said carelessly. Alison gave a look of sheer anger before responding.
"I know where they are." She stormed out of the room without saying another word, leaving Hanna behind.
Alison rushed to the small courtyard where the girls had entered through the small hole covered by the statue. She pushed the statue, but it didn't move. It usually didn't take more than just her to move it. She looked around and noticed that the statue was sealed to its place. Alison screamed in frustration, but suddenly she heard small thuds coming from the statue. She leaned in and heard faint voices screaming. She knew who they belonged to.
"Guys! It's Alison! Just stay there! I'll get the door open!" She hopefully screamed loud enough for them to hear. She thought it worked because she didn't hear the voices behind the rock. Ali looked around; she found a sharp stone, thinking that it could break away whatever was sealing the door shut. Slowly, but steadily, the stuff was coming off from the crack between the wall and the statue. Ali didn't know what it was, but it was coming off. It may have been five minutes when all of it was removed and Ali shoved the rock to the side. There stood two very familiar faces.
Spencer stood still, her jaw dropped. Emily's face was a jumbled mess. It gave a look of shock, confusion and happiness all at one time.
"Guys, I need to tell you something, but we can't do it here. We need to go somewhere private." Ali started walking away, but the girls remained put; still in shock that their friend was actually standing here, alive. "Are you coming or what?" Alison said with frustration in her voice.
"Where have you been?" Spencer said. She had walked a few steps closer to Ali, while Emily was still standing by the doorway.
"We'll have time for that later, but right now, you need to come with me!" Spencer looked back at Emily and shrugged her shoulders. They then followed Ali to a huge statue in the middle of the graveyard. She looked around to see if anyone had followed them. There was no one there. Everyone was still at the party.
"Wait," Spencer said, "we don't know where Aria and Hanna are. We have to find them; they'll want to hear this too."
"Yeah, we've been looking all over for them. We're worried that A got to them." Emily said.
"Okay, you have to listen to me. I can't stay long. I have been in hiding since my 'disappearance' and I have been in contact with a few people. It's not safe for me here"
"So . . . you can't stay?" Emily said, obviously disappointed. It wasn't a secret anymore that Emily had a huge crush on Ali, but Emily had Paige. Maybe if Ali couldn't stay then Paige wouldn't have to know about her liking Ali. But then again, Emily knew Ali was alive now and she can't hide her feelings. But, she and Paige had had that conversation about how they couldn't be together next year. Emily was too overwhelmed by everything, she needed to calm down.
There's no way you're going to be with Ali anyway. She would want someone better, and she'd probably want a guy for that matter. Emily thought to herself. That was her conclusion. She wouldn't have Ali and she wouldn't have Paige.
"No, I can't stay." Ali looked around again. "Okay, I'm going to be fast." She took a deep breath. "You can't trust – "
"Ali. You can't trust Ali." Aria said as she walked with Hanna and Ezra toward the others. "She's A"
NOTE: So I hoped that you liked this chapter. I kind of came up with it really quick, so I don't know how good it is. Do the girls believe Aria? I don't know. . . Please, as always. Feel free to review, tell me how I could do better or something that you want to see in the story. Thanks for reading!
